it's the best way to split the time depending on earth rotation/revolution. 1 day is 1/365,25 of one revolution cycle, 1 hour is 1/24 of the rotation cycle, and so on

but why 1/24 and so on
RadioMaster
21 Sep 2007, 14:56
cause its the best (or the only?) way to split it up in a way that the minutes/seconds make sense. Otherwise an hour would have 85,934 minutes, etc. and a minute had 52,94654 seconds. Of course, they could have gone with 12 hours (each lasting 120 minutes), and so on, but I guess this is the least complicated and easiest calculatable way.
Can't stand Doctor Who :?

British and Americans have been "exchanging" shows and actors for years...chances are if you're watching American show there is another one like that on British TV...and vice versa...mostly Americans "borrow" from British or the same producers develop American show...something like that.
We have channels that show a lot of British TV...and specialized series like Dr. Who are running on specialized channels - like Sci-Fi channel...

*checks how much space on the wall is left*
Do you drive nails straight through the record or you use that little hole in the middle of it?
If you include Very Best Of in that list then that's not on vinyl but there is a 12" x 12" flat available, which is what I used to complete my wall at the time :p
has there ever been a wttn vinyl record?
Yes there has!! :))
And thanks to Lucy, I can say that it's lovely :cheer:

Although the CHSIB one is nicer ;-)
And for us mortals there's also a 12" x 12" flat of the CHSIB cover to display instead of the vinyl! :p

French cars love...
...breaking down. A lot. I have a citroen, and it's now finally back on the road.
I have two Peugeots, and in the combined space of six and a half years, they've been off the road for a total of maybe one week... perhaps I should be buying a lottery ticket today...

I have one Peugeot and had it for 16 years. It hasnt let me down once. But it will have to go one day soon now.... The ''license'' (whatever it is called in every one else's home country ;)) is due on Oct 6th, and regarding its age moneywise it is now beyond repair. It took me to my first Meat Loaf concert on april 4th 1994 and somehow I had expected it to take me to my last one too, but Meat lasts longer then that!!!!!!

I daresay I'll be pleased once I've lost the 3 stones I've put on since having kids... okay, well maybe only a stone and a half, since I looked like death warmed up at 8 stone 6... and I'll definitely be pleased when I fit into that dress....
Lucy you don't need to join the gym... you're already in lovely shape... and I daresay you're fit enough from chasing Scrabble round on walks too...
I must be getting old....

Lovely shape...thank you, but I assure you it's the tight jeans that hold everything in place!! And as for fit...not in a million years, I'm so unfit it's actually quite concerning, it's definitely gonna affect my health at some point but right now I have no motivation to get fit at all!

Of course it was! The red hanky is Meat Loaf's, the frilly shirt is Neil's, the hair is Sean's, etc :p
