Well, perhaps you won't hear of it as you remind me about yesterday. There was police tape blocking off the sidewalk outside two houses down the block from me. The police were still on location when the local news station's van arrived. I asked a man on the porch of one house surrounded by tape what happened ? He shakes head and shrugs. I was on way to bus stop asking people who, imo, had the answer to what happened, but not a soul would tell and the news was never carried on the tv. Weird, hunh ?

Yesterday a couple people stopped outside to chat and I overheard one ask the other if he'd heard about the elderly man who got hit by a car. Maybe that was it. Still there's been nothing on news. That would make some sense. Perhaps the man was hit and staggered onto the sidewalk and that's why that bit of sidewalk was blocked.

Totally amazed how two-faced some people can be. Had a proper wake-up call to how spineless some people (at work) can be. People I thought were friends and that I could trust.

... but at the same time and through the same events realised some people (also at work) that I didn't really know all that well are a lot more loyal and kind than I'd realised.

Also, funny how one of the backstabbing ones is someone who thinks he's immune to just about everything ... well if he continues what he's been upto maybe he might find his bubble of immunity not to be quite so secure anymore.

So funny turn of events really - mixture of heart-warming and gut-wrenching.

Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater... damn. My favourite band just lost it's drummer who was pretty much the public figurehead of the band and the heart of the band. On the flipside maybe it'll start a new era for them and at least it was amicable and not a Pink Floyd style split. :(

To cheer me up decided to listen to the Meat MSO DVD, forgot just how awesome a performance it was. Really incredible stuff there from beginning through to end! Really excited to see him in December!

Our nephew lives in SF and I was calling his cell 6am our time 3am his and not getting an answer. I'm sure he's fine. A woman suspended from her job at a Kraft Foods plant here in town where I live returned last night with a .357 and killed two people. The police caught her. And then there's that minister in Florida, USA. Just madness. I don't want to be a chicken little, but I'm trying my best not to have to go out the house tomorrow. I don't want to be using public transportation. Yes, I think I'll have errands done today.

Thanks, Batty-b. I was sure that's from where what I believe the British see as derogatory nickname "Limey" came. I'm asking because there's a story on NPR this morning, played twice now, about an American teacher of economics, I believe was said. And twice now I've heard him say that he told his students about British prisoners back in the 1700s, I think it was, being taken to Australia and the sailors ate lemons. Same story, played twice, two times sending my shoulders to the lobes of my ears ... lol ... the twit... A teacher ! ... lol ... And here me a lowly lump and even I know it's limes. It's minor, I know, but it's still a bit of a dumbing down, isn't it ?
