What phone is it? And what network?

I know that some networks over here (Orange) sometimes send out a new SIM with a new phone, and then transfer the old number to the new SIM once it's activated, or just ignore the new SIM and use the old one liek I did when I last upgraded with 02.

Okay... I feel totally discriminated against and it upsets me that ... it upsets me. I've lived in this area of Philly for 38 years. The ethnicity (sp) of the local population has changed overwhelmingly. It's gone from majority white to minority white... lol ... I'm good with that part... I find some white people TOO white... like some of those Southern Christian zealots... Know what I mean ? HOWEVER... I'm disoriented and a bit pished that the signs marking the ailes (that is SO spelled incorrectly, isn't it ?... omg... alzheimer's finally sets in... lol ... AAILES... crim... WARIE-O !!! ... lol ... ) at the local Walgreen's are all in Spanish ... They used to be one side Spanish... the other English... I had trouble locating the aisle... (OH THERE IT IS... came easy-pease... see how it happens when you're not thinking about it ? ... lol ..) which had men's deodorant for darling husband (and you just KNOW in this hot weather, that's something the household should NOT be without ... lol ... ) and it really pished me ... There's also billboards at two main intersections in the area completely in Spanish. I just find it wrong.

Observation made while waiting at the bus stop yesterday ~ actually, an observation I've made and thought about many times ~ Why does the city paint bicycle lanes going with the traffic ? I would think it would be better for the rider to be going AGAINST the traffic in order to have a view of what's coming at them. No bikes I've seen are equipped with rearview mirrors and the like and should you swerve a bit, you would have a car, bus or truck up your butt ! Just a thought... Yes, I heard from a British friend that the UK did not get the nice summer promised by weather people there... I always say the only way to tell the weather is to stick your head out the door. I remember one morning the local weather guy was saying how sunny it was... dah dah dah ... and in my area of the city it was raining ! SO... of COURSE I called to tell them and ... lol ... he did announce he'd gotten a call from my area saying it was raining... Of course by then it had stopped... lol ...

There are two kinds of funerals.

Sober sedate affairs where we stand around making small talk and toasting the dead with mournful faces, or..........

A full blown celebration of the dear departeds life.

Although i've been to a good few of the first type of funeral, and think they do have their place as a respectful memorial of remembrance, I believe the second type is better all round.


There is enough sadness to the day as it is, so we might as well have a party and send the deceased on their way in a way befitting everything they mean to us.
We'll drink, we'll sing, we'll tell stories, we'll drink, we'll drink again, we'll sing a bit more, then (just for a change) we'll have a drink.

Come to think of it, I think we try to give the kind of funeral we ourselves would like to have when it's our turn.

My Great Aunties funeral was legend.
I played a 13 hour gig for that one.

It's not for everyone, but I find it works for us :shrug:

I'm sorry for your loss, Mousie, but it sounds like a solid plan to me. The greatest compliment I ever received was when at a passed on aunt's funeral, a former fiance' of my dearest passed on dad said when she found me in the middle of a group of cousins kicking up a giggle "I should have known ! As long as you're alive, your father will never be dead !" ... He liked to kick up his heels a bit, too... lol ...
