They tried to deliver our tickets the other day, and left the red card. So I arranged for redelivery this morning when I knew I'd be in, this afternoon the tickets came through the door while I was out having given up on them being delivered today, can only presume the postie signed for the delivery himself!

I may be stepping into this position (held by one woman for 20 years) with only a handful of years experience... But I'm quickly gaining a new pet peeve. Stop telling me what Ms. Pace did and expecting me to do the job exactly like her. Ugh!!!
Maybe I should put a sign on the door... Either
A). "Whatever you are accustomed to in this room, do not expect it to be entirely the same with me now!"
OR
B). "The only pace still in this library is....slow. Slow pace when walking or reading. Enjoy!"
Sigh!!!!! This comparison problem is gonna get old quick, that is for sure.... :P LOL ;)

My best friend had a car accident on friday. The last weeks we didn't get along very well with each other and the last time we have met, was in April. I am really shocked at the moment because we have gone through very though and good times and I can't imagine my life without him. He isn't in hospital anymore and he is not in danger in life but could have been worse. How will you know? Tomorrow I will visit him. Life is short.

We've had it all this series with the decisions. Hawkeye, snicko, hotspot, 3rd umpire, both pitch umpires, batsmen and bowlers from both sides.

if you're only reason for watching a meat loaf DVD or SHOW was Patti... That's just silly!
LOL no it's not the only reason. Assuming that it is is silly
AFL, Paradise, Dead Ringer + + + work well because they are a tandem on stage. Patti has the same improvisation skills that Meat has, which is needed with an entertainer like Meat. She puts the emotion in the song/lyrics that the song needs. She is more than just a vocal addition. SHe is part of those songs.
Aspen, technically a good singer, lacked those skills. And there was hardly any chemistry in their duets. These two blondes -I've seen several video's now- seem to have the same problem. Aspen was vocally stronger than the blonde ladies btw. But that could be because they might have been nervous.
You don't get the 'extra that' in a few months. Patti worked with him for 20 years. That lack of chemistry and thus the lack of emotion WILL be missed for sure. That ruins the image I still have of the LAB tour.
So not looking forward to a LAB show now.

Lack of chemistry between Meat and new female singers? Yes, but only if you think Vegas shows ... Till next year (concerts in New York) it will be enough time. ;)
PS. I wonder if you have the same thoughts in the past - in the early 90's when Goff sisters left the band? ;)
AndrewG
17 Aug 2013, 14:23
Patti has been in the band for 20 years. Meat Loaf didn't even tour 20 years with Bat before then so it makes no sense comparing Patti to female singers who were in the band 3-4 years. Patti is also the only one who has appeared on a dozen or so studio songs since she joined the band.

Who ever has the job of replacing her has one hell of an act to follow
PS. I wonder if you have the same thoughts in the past - in the early 90's when Goff sisters left the band? ;)
To be honest, The Goffs, to me, have always been 'just' an addition to the band. They were a good addition but not to the extend of Patti. Then again, as Andrew pointed out, she has been part of this for 20 years and even in her early days she had that 'emotional-dramatic' presence in both her voice and performance.
I'm not saying Patti is a better singer than the Goffs, Aspen or any of the women performing with Meat. But she was the best performer of the songs. Experience and talent have brought her there. It's more than unlikely that these two new women will get that 'touch' in time. If they even get it at all....
But, hey. They are blonde, they are cute. They can sing (although they eem very nervous for this show) so they will do well. They just don't have that 'extra' in my eyes. Nor did the Goffs, in my opinion ;)

What did I miss?
Well there is no point posting that again as it will just get deleted. Let's just say nasty things were said and that is a real shame I think. :(
Some people need to calm the ~~~~ down on facebook and actually read what someone says before they tell them that they basically won't see reason....

On a positive note, the "Goff Out of Hell II - Back into Goff" on the left on one of the pics had a pretty impressive camel toe.

One day a young bull and an old bull are standing on a hillside overlooking a pasture full of cows. The young bull is prancing around, all excited, and says "Dad! Let’s run down there and ~~~~ some cows!"
“The old bull slowly lifts his head and replies "No son, let’s walk down there and ~~~~ all the cows."

Imo ... saying on a public board that something has been said to you in confidence... is breaking a confidence...
Some of the drama this weekend has reminded me of a couple of episodes of the American office:
* The "Business is always personal" quote which I firmly believe.
* The episode in which Jim tells Michael Scott the secret about his love for Pamela, after which Michael Scott reveals straight away he knows a secret to everyone (because he feels superior knowing something) and thus subsequently tells what that secret is.
It's like a soap all played out on a forum.

Where did they take it from? Hope it's not FB ;) Small print on FB says all photos once posted become FB property. Just say to the woman that you'd like a credit if that's what you want

Sorry I should have explained that more fully .. I think they make it clear that it's their condition of you posting photos on there .. meaning I guess that in doing so you have waived any other legal rights. But I'm glad you're happy :-)

Have been to a class at the gym tonight, and reinforced to myself just how uncoordinated I really am... Every time I got the hang of a step, the instructor changed it, then when it came round again I'd forgotten what I was supposed to do!! Still, regular instructor's back next week, so I'll be okay again, lol...
How do i get a + after my name then?

I have IBS and was advised (by a forum member, actually) that there's something in tonic water that settles your stomach...can't remember whether she said it had to have the gin in it too so I assumed it does

One flight, player appearances at 3 separate schools, 3 - 4 classes each (500+ 6-10 year old kids), radio interview, interview for the paper and a high performance cricket session all in one day and looking at repeating it tomorrow... Wow... How does he do it...
