Lopez Tonight Cancelled

Any prospect of Meat performing on Lopez Tonight again are now gone.

I didnt know where to put this but I seem to recall meat saying to a talk show host he'd perform a HIAHB song on their show once it was released. i cant remember if it was Lopez or not.

That's a shame. I really like George Lopez, and he was really supportive of Meat

I seem to recall Meat saying that too. Now we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

TV in the USA always seems so black and white. You're either on top or nothing. They so easily drop things like a bombshell if it doesn't perform 100% like before. Just like that Sarah Conner chronicles series. Hope the BBC never has to go down that path completely. It would really suck for smaller audiences enjoying niche shows.

Well you've got brain dead Simon Cowell's X Factor to look forward to now in the States and going by X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd's "Swagger Jagger" (number one here in the UK) the mission to create the most awful sounding music known to man is pretty successful so enjoy that show instead.

I doubt that. It's more of cultural background. To be honest, I don't think you can compare the BBC with U.S. television. The BBC is the best public network in the World, for a long time sharing it with the German public channels. The U.S. channels (we are talking about) are cable networks. Like Sky and Channel 4. They don't have to have any cultural meaning or background and that shows. BBC shows are 'clever' where cable shows are mostly 'sleazy'.

It's almost unlikely that a BBC show dissapoints me. Just as hardly as a U.S. show will impress me.

Shows like Graham Norton... they wish they could do that in the U.S. Leno and Letterman, and so on and so on, are still living the old Johnny Carson television. They are outdated, unfunny and uninteresting. Same with most tv series wich need Explosions and gunfire more than actual plot (It's almost 'little Hollywood'). Yes they pump millions of dollars in it but they miss clever craftmanship. That's the secret of the BBC imo.

And when a U.S. network tries to take on public opinion or 'shock' they still go safe. The success of the comedy show Will and Grace (about two gay friends) was the lack of gayness. And Ellen DeGeneres actually got slashed for 'the coming out' in the once highly succesfull 'Ellen'.

And then there is censorship as if this is China. (Think of 'nipplegate' and the impact that got on live shows that needed a 10 seconds airing delay so they could bleep/blur).

All in all there is no bravery, no innovation, and a lot of nothing.

Anyway I'm ranting

It's too bad for Lopez, but in all honesty... how many boring night shows with equally boring hosts and guests can you actually watch

I am glad he was nice to Meat and everything. But people can't stand George Lopez. Google his name along with the word racist and see how many hits you get. He is definitely not popular and deservedly so IMO.

I've only seen the clip from last time Meat was on it but he sounded like a great presenter what a shame. America always cancels the good shows

George Lopez did not create good television. He had a very small audience who actually watched his show. It is all business.

This is what I worry about with Game of Thrones. Its costly to make and though it had good viewing figures in the US that continually improved up until the end of its first season, it only takes the second season to take a nose dive and suddenly fans of the book series are left with an incomplete storytelling of a fantastic epic!!

yeah that would suck. Its an epic story and I love the show so far, hopefully all goes well and it gets air time

Then it's up to the script writers and producers to be on the ball. As they have the books to go off should be a lot easier than actually creating a story themselves, they still have to get that book onto the screen, and as they only have a certain amount of time and episodes to do it, it can be hard. But I think they did a good job of season one, lets hope season two is just as good.

That's a real letdown, Meat had a staunch supporter in him. In fact I'd say George was one of very, very few interviewers I've seen who really seem to 'get' Meat.
