Question CHSIB - 2 disc edition

Is anyone owning it?
Amazon says for disc 2:

Any idea where the live clips are taken from?

I have this RadioMaster, and it says all the "live" songs, except for "Did I Say That", are taken from the "Storytellers" DVD.

J.

well the dvd version of 2/3 on storytellers is different from the cd version.

He goes "IT aint bad" on the Cd and "Aint Bad" on the DVD.

DVD version is better.

which storytellers 2/3 is it?

It's the CD version of 2 out of 3 and the DVD version of the other tracks.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the different recordings for the Storytellers CD? As far as I'm aware, Life Is A Lemon, Lawyers, Guns & Money and Anything For Love all come from the VH1 Hard Rock Live show, not the actual Storytellers show. What about all the rest though? It's already been mentioned that there are two different versions of Two Out Of Three, and from what I can gather this song wasn't even done at the Hard Rock show.

I'll point out my research came from http://www.kasiminfo.com/Gigs/MeatLoaf/ST.html and http://www.kasiminfo.com/Gigs/MeatLoaf/HRL.html

And where'd you get that? The links you mention don't provide any evidence to that claim.

You're right they don't. I read it somewhere else a while ago but I forget where. I think it may have been someone posting on here who attended both shows.

AFL is definitely from the Hard Rock show though. I have a bootleg of that show and it is the same.

To add to my above comment, here is the post in question:

Quote:
Hi, I haven't posted here in a while. Thought i'd chime in on two things - LIAL is only on the CD because it 'technically' isn't from the Storytellers show, it comes from the Hard Rock Live performance. I went to both tapings.

And yes, Meat did film for over three hours that night, but from what I recall it was mostly due to the Stories being told, there weren't too many extra songs performed on Storytellers night. Both tapings were pretty cool, but I am kind of partial to the Hard Rock taping as it was mostly performances and not too much chatting. Storytellers was also neat to watch in the making, especially soundcheck (we were in the studio earlier then expected) hearing Kasim and Patti sing lead on some of the songs but the atmosphere was different due to the tons of talking and stopping (looking for more film :) !). Take care!

if you count videos, meat has preformed testify live and a bunch on tv, if those count as videos.

ALSO -

on the differentces in cd recordings:

Two out of three, Took the words, and All revved up are minorly different on the MSO DVDs and CDs too. He never says "Come On" in the all revved up performance on the dvd, but says it on the Cd, and his voice tone is different in the Beginning verses of 2/3 and Took the words.

AFL is from the Hard Rock live thing. i guess VH1 wanted to add some other meat performances on the cd. beleive it or not, i think VH-1 directors are BIG fans of meat loaf. he's in a bunch of their countdowns and has adds on the channel alot.

I think you're imagining the difference in Two Out Of Three as it was only performed on the second night. You Took The Words and All Revved Up were obviously taken from different nights.

As far as I'm aware, the first night he did:
Life Is A Lemon
Mercury Blues
Dead Ringer
Testify
All Revved Up
You Took The Words
CHSIB
Out Of The Frying Pan
Anything For Love
For Crying Out Loud
Paradise
Bat Out Of Hell

The second night he did:
Life Is A Lemon
Mercury Blues
Dead Ringer
Testify
All Revved Up
You Took The Words
CHSIB
Out Of The Frying Pan
Two Out Of Three
Paradise
Anything For Love
Bat Out Of Hell

During the soundchecks he recorded:
Heaven Can Wait
I'd Lie For You
Rock And Roll Dreams

Unless someone else knows otherwise.

well if you listen to the commentary during MSO's DVD after frying pan meat's voice cuts off for a bit. I always thought heaven can wait, lie fo you, or RRD came after that an d was poorly edited out. Not sound checks.

I think that's just poor editing of the DVD. You'll notice that the sound of the audience jumps between Frying Pan and FCOL too.

If you look on this thread

and this thread

You'll find the set lists. No Heaven Can Wait, RARD or I'd Lie For You.

well if you notice the audience is litten in a heavenly type red light. it lead me to think Heaven can wait was preformed while the audience was finding their seats after intermission.

I think it's probably more likely that Frying Pan came from the second night, FCOL from the first night and whoever put the DVD together couldn't be arsed to do it properly.

that might be a stupid question, but: was there an intermission at all at that time?
