Default KICKAPOO

So for them who have heard this song. Do share what you think of it?

I think its a really rocking song. Jack Black's vocals are amazing, and suit the family scene with Mom And Dad (Meat.) What makes this song rock all the more is the vocal contributions from Dio & Meat. Although I prefer Jack's vocals outta them all, for an older tough man, Dad, Meat really knocked the hammer. I enjoyed the lyrics, in ALL the parts. I like the piano touch and the electric guitar progression, when Meat comes in. I mean, Dad

Great piece. I don't know if this counts, but If I were to rate it outta 10, I would give it a 9\10. Bon.

was acutally thinking about that song today and the musical elements that were used, it is very well dome!

The main melody is always the same, but the speed and rhytm is changing:

The first and the last part with JB as narrator got the main melody with acoustic guitar, when he starts his "tasty jam"() it is just one acoustic guitar and the melody is still the same, but more simple. Meatīs part got a fender guitar, powerful, but without many musical compromises, just very strict, and then DIOīs part is done in the style of classical 70īs hard rock, so that every part suits the character who sings it.

Very clever!

I would give it 8 points

I actually really like this song. I especially love it when the guitars kick in hard and speed up slightly just before Meat comes in. The vocal contributions from Dio and Meat are great and Jacks vocals are also fantastic.

I would give the song 8.5/10

I love "Kickapoo", it's great fun, and I think all the guys do a wonderful job on their individual parts of the song. Would love to hear it on the radio, if it weren't for needing to bleep out most of JB's "tasty jam". LOL

I've seen an interview in which JB says that there is a "clean" version. Gotta get that on in the party zone.

Like the song, although find Meat's vocals strained.

Saw it performed live last night at Tenacious D in concert...Kyle Gass did Meat Loafs Part, and now I know why Jack Black does the signing lol. Was a great live song actually too.

I saw The D last night Live and thought Rage Cage did a great job in taking over
from Meat (though of course he's no Meat) in this song.
The whole show was absolutely awesome, what a night.

Knowing that Meat had a very small part in this film I made an effort not to watch any clips or read too much about it so not to spoil the time he was in it....so I had no idea he was going sing, which became very apparent to the hand that was next to me....!!!! A great song and a lovely little surprise!!!

I don't think they played it in Glasgow either but they played Beezleboss
which is great!

And they did Pinball Wizard as an encore!

Did they have that really rude comic as a warm up at the Dublin show,
most of the fans were booing but I was laughing my ass off.
Shame his jokes are too rude to repeat here.

Went to see The POD tonight and you see the comic just finishing his set,
must be one of Jables mates. Great flick and Kiackapoo was an awesome start.

Glad I missed most of the RYP, had forgotten about it and only put it on just
before Meat came on, how lucky was that?!

question to those who went to the Tenacious D concerts:
Who playes Dave Grohls part in Beelzeboss? Itīs a 2 vs. 1 song, dont really see how that should work if either JB or KG would sing the devils part...

I really like Kickapoo, too - great song!

Although Meat's part is very, very short it's excellent!! The trouble is, he's too low in the mix. I hope I'm saying the right thing.. The instrumental part is too loud relative to Meat, and you have to strain your ears to hear him. Well, you can HEAR him all right, it's just that he's putting a lot of inflection into it, and you miss the detail (and even some of the words), which is very frustrating. Some of the really old songs were kind of that way too, but it's worse to encounter that now, because imo he's a better singer now, and I just REALLY want to hear him, every little detail.

I just got the soundtrack, and it's no better on there.

But it's a great song! And I can tell Meat's doing a really great job on it!
