Jim Steinman section

Hi everybody!

I saw you were opening a new forum for "Bat Out Of Hell III". What do you think about that we open a new section for "Jim Steinman"? I know it is a Meat Loaf Fan Club but their lifes are interweaving. I know BOOH3 will be the best album ever in the world! We aid Jim and he will write much better songs to Meat! What is your opinion?

I'm in two minds over this.

I'd dearly love to have a Jim forum here, because I like discussing things with the people here. And I am immenseley wrapped up in Jim's music.

However, there is a "but" and quite a big "but" it is - it could be seen by Meat that we don't respect him as an artist capable of working without Jim. I mean to have a forum for another artist in one artist's fanbase forum?

I just don't know - I'm just throwing in my thoughts

Jim writes great songs and we have had 2 albums together, but to just dimiss CHSIB. I sorry I told you about bat3, The songs on CHSIB are for the most part really good, written by very good and important writers. I think you are wrong to think that they are not quailty songs. All you are saying when you do that is that I'm a stupid artist, who's knows nothing about what I do. Be a Fan Of Jim I am , but there are writers in the world who are good and I found some of them. Jim is a very good writer but not every song he writes can be his best. from James Michael I managed to get one of his best. CHSIB would be an outstanding song on any record.,
so would "why isn't that enough" they are bat quailty songs. This record is not even out and you want to talk about Jim and Bat3. If you want to talk about Jim go to his web site, were they talk about him and hate me.

I see your point, Meat. Right now CHSIB IS truly the best album in the world. We don't know what the future will bring, we only have the present.
There is just one think I can't understand, but I never visit Jims sites, why would they hate you? You have the best voice in the world!
Or maybe that is it..

They HATE you on Jim's site?? I can't understand why, since you're the best performer of his songs.
I think the combination of Steinman/Meat is the best, but that's does not mean that I'm saying you need him to make a great album. Welcome to the neighbourhood proves that.
I have to wait until march 31. Then I can buy the album over here in Holland and than I can give an opinion.

Why do they hate you??? That is stupid, i mean, you look great, you sing great, you act great........ Not much of a stupid artist I think!!!

Jim is a great writer, but that will not say that we think that other writers are very bad or don't have quality to deliver. That's not true, and about bat 3, well, i can wait, say nothing about it!

I wanted to say we aid Jim and he will write much better songs to Meat!
No much better than CHSIB songs! These are another style!
Just better than would be original...

Jim is the best writer of all. But why do they hate you??? The team Meat and Jim is the best there is.

But other writers were/are also good. I also like Paul Jacobs/ Sarah Durkee and Diane Warren.

Hi Meat.
I don't think that any offence was meant by this sugestion.
Nobody has dismissed CHSIB,I have only heard "Did I Say That" up until now and I thought it was great

.I'm sure the rest of the album will be just as good.
As for Bat III,i'm grateful that you told us about it.Since Bat II,i've always thought that Bat should be a trillogy.It's just nice to know that it will be finished.
That is not an insult to your work away from Jimmy.Some of my favorite Meat Loaf songs were not written by Jim.
To me,the most important thing in a song is the lead vocal.There are many things that contribute to a great song or band,but the one thing that cannot be replaced is vocals.I'm not putting musicians or song writters down (I would love to be able to play or write) but you can change a drummer or a guitarist and still have the same sound.Change the vocalist and you change the band.
Take Genisis for example,Peter Gabrielle left and Phil Collins joined.Now they have someone else haven't they?

How can you have a different voice,but the same band?It sounds completly different.It beats the hell out of me

They do not hate you on Jim'site but maybe we shuold read between the lines. they just hate that Jim cannot do it without you. Jim his succes depends most of you. they just hate that fact. that is something really different. they just can't stand that. They know Celine, Barbara and Bonnie did a great job, but they know they miss somehting on all of these songs and they just hate that. So from that opinion they do not hate you, they actually love you. And they hate that. They hate that they love you. Isn't that just so sweet of them...........

Meat. you are under a big pressure at this moment. remember one thing: you are rich: you have got your daughters, your (musician-(friends) and more then 225 real fans on this very strange thing: your own forum.

I think we need to wait till 2004, because we then had a part of the tour, and we have the album. Probably then there is enough news about Bat III to talk about.

Well, I have taken the question to Jim's fans and they said don't hate you! Why could they hate you who have given 3 albums theirs.
Yes, he said some fans think you are cocky. I don't want to study it... and study them. Well, some people hate you... And? You are famous and you will be always envied by many.

I know you mean well. But my opinion is that this is a Meat Loaf site.
So we talk about Meat Loaf and, yes, everything related to Meat Loaf!
If you want a section for Jim, I want a section for Patti.
And Frank Farian, do you see just how many sections we would end up with?

I feel I'm responsible for Meat thinking all this. After all, it did come directly after what I wrote. I've been really upset since I read this - you have no idea what a great burden it is to upset Meat Loaf.

What I worte was actually the opposite to this. I wanted to get across the point that I enjoy talking with the people here about things. Anythings that interest me, but this is Meat's forum, to discuss Meat.

I was really upset to read the part where Meat said "All you are saying when you do that is that I'm a stupid artist, who's knows nothing about what I do". That's nowhere near what I was saying. Really, I was trying to say the opposite! I love Meat's work whether it is with or without Jim Steinman. That's why I post to Meat's forums, not Jim's.

I've sent Meat a PM apologising as best I can (but I don't think he's got it yet), and I really feel that what I wrote at the beginning of the thread reads badly, its ambiguous, and could look bad towards Meat. I really REALLY look forward to the new album - I can't wait. I know the songs are great, already, just from the radio, and I know that everyone else is looking forward to it too.

If you read this Meat, please try to see what I'm saying - I've been really low since I realised I upset you.
