Default Steinman has spoken...

...of sorts.

This brief snippet is taken fromRockman where you can read the full message.

D) I have had NO involvement in BAT3, and let the Rockman folk know that. Id be glad to wish him the best on his CD, which should be THE MONSTER IS LOOSE. BTW, two years ago I wrote an Email to Meat raving about a few new songs: PARADISE LOST ("No matter how tragic the loss/No matter how heavy the cost/To this very day/ I can stand tall & say/ I fought for paradise/And Paradise lost/ I fought for Paradise/ But Paradise lost/ Was it this/ or was it that/ but Paradise lost in the final at bat/Paradise lost in the final At Bat." That was for Meat, but he showed no interest, as was the case then with "NOT ALLOWED TO LOVE" and "BRAVER THAN WE ARE". But its ok, becase they'll be thrilling with THE DREAM ENGINE. Oh the other songs I wrote to him raving about were GOD HAS LEFT THE BUILDING and THE MONSTER IS OUT OF THE CAGE! (hmmmm, wonder where he got his current title. Mine was: "Whats the point of all this fury/all this bitterness and rage/ Theres no point at all/ We're only young/ And the Monster Is Out Of The Cage"

Some very interesting things being said, especially THE MONSTER IS OUT OF THE CAGE! part, and Meat showing no interest in "BRAVER THAN WE ARE"

I like 'Paradise Lost' lyrics alot.
Shocked Meat shown no interest in BTWA...
Can't please everyone. I always thought the female vocal part would be perfect on Patti's part.

Yeah that was a bit of a shocker to me as well and like you, I think Patti's female vocals would fit perfectly.

I would like to say that despite this coming from Steinman, there are two sides to every story and like most things connected with Meat and Jim, we probably never will get at the actual 'true' facts of what went on.

All misterious. If this is true, I would be really pissed off, because the lyrics sounds good.

Well I'm not pissed off because you can never really force anybody to do what you want (slavery has been abolished, the last I heard).

Thing is, maybe Meat thought working too closely with Steinman was the obvious thing to do (ie what was expected) and maybe he just felt he should take Bat III into a different direction.
You can't really prevent someone for not showing interest. Maybe he decided on something else while he was on tour last year (ie rather have more hard core stuff or so). It could also be (and this would not surprise me) that if Meat had taken on these new Steinman tracks maybe there were all sorts of clauses Meat would have had to stick to (bit of the old Sonnenberg influence perhaps? -or taken on the songs meant Meat would have to settle for Steinman's "Bat out of Hell" trademark), the recording timeline may have been to long also or so.

Who knows wtf really happened and what the reasons are! I personally do not care too much as that is all stuff that happens behind "closed doors" (ie only the album releases, songs, music and tours are of great interest to me) Let's see wait and see what Bat 3 will be like. Looks as if we will get to hear these new Steinman tunes at some point anyway (Dream Engine). But "Paradise Lost" does sound like an interesting song, even going by just the lyrics.

That Jacqueline woman posted that on Rockman. I think it is quite reliable. Pud knows more about that.

Yes, I'm sure they will about as much as they thrilled with "Bad For Good".

And as do I

Relating to the lyrics, I didn't like the section that came from Monster\Cage.
Of course that doesn't mean I don't like the song.. I haven't heard it yet. But Meat's recent recording is amazing. And I wouldn't trade it for anything. Kick@$$ job.

I can't help feeling that a lot of the "argument" between Meat and Jim has been invented (or at least prolonged) in order to keep people talking about the both of them. Something is coming up in a week or two which just would not happen if 50% of what is written is actually meant. I cannot say more than that just now. Hopefully I will be able to soon!
Anyway, Jim's lyrics sound great (as we would expect) but what we've heard so far from Meat KICKS ASS!! Let's celebrate what we've got and stop mourning what we've not!
