*Excluding* MSO. We all know that's good.
Aside from MSO, what is the best concert of Meat's that has been released? Which is the one I absolutely MUST own on DVD? Recommendations please! |

I thought MSO was the only released concert DVD?
The only other i know is Storytellers, but for me thatīs not a real concert. There are just a few people and Meat donīt act like he whould in a big concert hall. |

Why? it's a 2 hour show, just a lot more intimate than usual with some stories thrown in. He did a whole tour with these shows. I think we should also appreciate that Meat has only really released one single new studio album (CHSIB) since DVD sales have taken of. Unlike many artists who have cashed in on older concert releases at least Meat has provided us with two new live DVDs while the DVD format has been established and not forgetting two live cds which compliment these releases. If you had told me ten years ago Meat would be releasing a live show on a digital format that does not exist yet in 2004 with an orchestra performing all the Bat out of Hell tracks I would not have believed it! (I still don't believe I have this in my collection!) With the release of the Blu Ray format this year I think it is safe to say we will see some wonderful stuff complimenting the Bat 3 release first on DVD and probably later on this new format. I think Meat has been very generous in releasing these live DVDs and doing these tours and the fact that more is on the horizon really excites me. Lotus, which one you should get??? All of them of course!!! DVDs MSO Storytellers Bat out of hell Classic Albums DVD (includes Heaven can Wait live in Netherlands 1994). Bat out of hell videos DVD Videos: Bat 2 picture show, 1985 live show, 1981 live show + all the live cds etc....etc.. Last edited by AndrewG; 20 Apr 2006 at 00:22. |

Possibly a DVD release of something, but Blu-ray material will be quite a while off yet. |

Although it's not on DVD I'd say the Bad Attitude tour video from 1985 rates up there amongst the best (ie close to the MSO DVD), not only is Meat in fine form, but I (along with a couple of other forum members) was in the crowd

Thanks for all the answers, guys, and that is a winning argument for Bad Attitude, AndyK!
Which of those listed so far is the best rocker, the one that just goes off? |

Actually, in the interests of forum tidiness this really belongs in TT&BH ...
I'd say it's a close call between the MSO and Bad Attitude for best rocker ... Bad Attitude is perhaps a more raw rock concert whereas the MSO is a much more polished performance. |

Given MSO is excluded from the debate, that's one very firm vote Bad Attitude then.
Anyone objecting/having a different point of view? |

*Brief side note - If I want VHS from Ebay, is that like DVD and have to be designed for the local electronics, or whatever the hell it is that makes a difference?

PAL and NTSC are indeed differing formats of VHS. The states runs on NTSC and the UK on PAL (not sure about down under at all). Having said that most modern VHS machines these days will play both formats.

I did, I'd just like to understand it.
PAL/NTSC is a menu option on my DVD player (which doesn't help with VHS) that makes no difference that I can see to my playback. What does that have to do with VHS? And what is SECAM? Actually, is it even necessary I know that? |

The only thing that iīd like to add is that most of the european countries run PAL, too. My VRC just runs PAL cassettes, i cant play NTSC Quote:

a) it was recorded some 20+ years ago when camera, grip and editing technology wasn't as advanced as it is today. and b) Brixton Academy where it is filmed is a pig of a venue for setting up cameras, there are very few decent vantage points The concert was also filmed "live" over one night and not over two consecutive shows as per the MSO DVD. There was no second chance with shots on the Bad Attitude concert. |

So, that's 2.7 votes for BA, and 0 for anything else.
Is SECAM like BETA? And should I order fries with that? |
