Default too large pictures in threads

I think all those too large pictures are annoying and than there are all those people who quote these pictures a million times. My computer just can't handle it and in the end I don't even want to read the thread no more.

I agree with you Bart - that's why I link to the thumbnail instead. If someone really wants to look at the larger version of the picture, then they can click the thumbnail to take a closer look.

Quite right you guys are. I've reduced my photos to 25% of the originals but find they are still too large. Notably the guys with 14 million pixel cameras should reduce their photos to at least 10-15% before putting the photos online. Most people won't print them anyway. They are way too large for my monitor (1280 by 1024 at 19 inch)!!, have to scroll to see them.

Lets have the moderators do something about this issue ?

There is no need to alter the original image size.

If you upload the pictures using the imageshack link that is on the new masseage screen, it gives a few different options for what to copy to your post, if people select the "Thumbnail for forums" option, then a small version of the picture appears and readers have the option to click for the full size version of ictures they would like to see.

If you are using your own webspace, something like LIMON wuld be your friend.

Mmh ... yeah, well - it's not that difficult to disable image quoting.
However, I'm a little bit reluctant to hack the software right now, because a new version of vbulletin is going to be released soon.
This new version may or may not have an option to disallow image quoting.
In other words: if there's no option for this, I'll hack the code.
