Meat could quite a few songs of Queen. Although I would choose some more obscure songs like Innuendo, The Prophet's Song and Who Wants To Live Forever? I think these would be more suited for Meats voice.

I think Who Want's To Live Forever sung by Meat would be something special.
I would also like to hear him do a Joe Cocker song (I know Meat likes him) Unchain My Heart would be superb .

There are a few songs I think Meat would do a very good job:

Two steinman songs:
Total Eclipse Of The Heart - Bonnie Tyler
Making Love (Out Of Nothing At All) - Air Suply/Karine Hannah/Bonnie Tyler

Other songs:
Show Must Go On - Queen
Who Wants To Live Forever - Queen
Bed Of Roses - Bon Jovi
Overcome - Live

I think Meat would do a good job, if he would sing the ballad "The Best Of Everything" by Tom Petty! (A duet between Tom and Meat would do the best.) Who knows the song "The Best Of Everything"?

Am I also allowed to mention Patti? Yes, okay, here I go.
Was anyone of you able to see Patti perform with Queen here in Holland and did The Show Must Go On?
I always thought that that was one of their best, but now with Patti doing the lead it was completed. Her voice suited that song so perfect!

I like Pattis version of "Tie Your Mother Down" - I think this is a Queen song, isn't it?

A song that ML and Patti would do well on together is
WE CAN DO ANYHING - By Terry Kelly
UP WHERE WE BELONG - By Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes

I would like to hear Patti or Pearl sing a Steinman song.
(I don't mean a Steinman duet, because I heard that already).

Because I think that both have a very powerfull voice that you need for a Steinman song. I think they will do it better than Bonnie Tyler and Pandora's Box.

I can listen these songs, but the more...

Metallica isn't such a great band! Primitive metal music! I have read in a rock encyclopedia that Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman were the first METAL band. They made it!

At now we think the real metal as music as Metallica. No! We know Bat Out Of Hell with piano, with electric and bass guitar and lot of effects and if it necessary with sax and orchestra. But the metal is meaning just 2 or 3 guitars and a drum at now. Grrrr.....

They say Metallica is metal. No! Meat Loaf is metal!!!!!!

(But I can imagine these songs by Meat)

Okay, your opinion. But Metallica isn't primitve metal! No other metal band compares to Metallica, because their music's so heavy, but so good to listen. The lyrics of Metallica songs are wise and have a deep sense. They make you think. You can tell whole stories about their songs. So much other metal bands haven't any melody in their songs, but Metallica's songs have it. They rock! And Meat isn't metal. Not even "Bat Out Of Hell". Off course, Meat and Jim are the very best musicians ever. If that weren't so, I wouldn't be a fan. But they never did metal. The music Jim and Meat made is another music! What do you mean it is? Polka? Techno? Noooooo!!! Come on man, it's ROCK'N'ROLL !!! AND YOU STILL HAVE A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT IT !!!

Garrett!

When you think to the Rock 'n' Roll you have to think to Paradise or Dead Ringer or Dance In My Pants! These are Rock 'n' Roll!
But you can read in specialist book that Meat Loaf created the Metal and he was the first Punk singer! It is in specialist books!

And my opinion is the next! What is the soft-music? If you listen to the deep of a rock 'n' roll song you hear a known rhytnm. It is Bolero by Ravel. Try it!
When the first pop-band was appearing everybody said it's terrible! It was The Beatles! But if you think into the history of music you can tell me a name who has evoked same from the people. He was Bartók Béla or Béla Bartok. Yes, he was a Hungarian composer! Well, I think they were the first whoes have laid down the base of soft-music! It wanted to be an example that the soft-music's base isn't that what we think!

What is the metal? The metal music is created that it's scandalizing the people. Andy Warhol was the first who has wanted it! Velvet Underground, later David Bowie did some thing for it! After borned Rocky Horror Show with humour and sex! This is the base of metal!
Essence of the rock 'n' roll was the free! The free and Harley Davidson! The metal is rose out of the rock 'n' roll and it has brought them with itself. And this is the duality: humour, sex and free (with Harley)!

What is the typical of metal? FREE, SEX, HARLEY DAVIDSON and HUMOUR! And in the music the power and the effects! Who was the first who has composed this kind of music?
JIM STEINMAN!!!!!

(And I think the metal was degenerated! Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath) was classic HEAVY METAL... with piano!
At now we say the metal is just 2-3 guitars and drums. I think some years and the people will think that the hardcore is the metal! Why???)

Eh? I'm no musical genius, but I do know Ravel's Bolero and I do know some Rock'n'Roll songs.
But - to be honest - I never had the idea that they had something in common.

No, no, no, no!! First, it could be that the word Rock'n'Roll has another meaning in Germany, I don't know it, but I can say, that Meat and some of the other you named have nothing to do with Metal. And Metal isn't about Sex, Harley Davidson or Freedom!

Now, Rock'n'Roll is a name for all kinda Rock music that exist. It's nothing special. You can see it as an alternate word for Rock! Rock (or Rock'n'Roll) has many subgenres. The subgenre Meat and Jim did is called Classic Rock!

Okay? Now I still have to tell you something 'bout Heavy Metal. It's a kind of music that was born around 1980. The creators of this music were bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and off course ACDC!! It has very hard electric guitars and also brutal drums and the lyrics are very direct and unsparing. The lyrics often explain things in a pessimistic way and usually haven't something in common with love. Bands like Metallica do the best out of Heavy Metal and I've never heard this music much better as when Metallica do it. They are the symbol of Heavy Metal! Do you ever listen to some songs of the band System Of A Down, especially the piece "Aerials". It's fantastic!! If you never hear this song, try a download at Kazaa!

But Metal has bad subgenres (e.g. Black Metal or Death Metal), performed by bands like Gravedigger or solo acts like Rob Zombie. Todays most famous solo act of Black and Dark Metal is Marilyn Manson. He is a symbol of this kinda music. But I think these most brutal subgenres are very bad and I don't like it! So I don't like Marilyn Manson's music. The greater Heavy Metal is, the worse Black or Death Metal are! I think such bands ruined the music of real Metal, off course they made a joke out of the gods of Metal - Metallica!

In fact Meat isn't Metal like Elton John isn't Techno!!

I know what about you say!

But these words are told by who has never read specialist book. Open a Rock-encyclopedia! I had to write a ten-pages paper about the history of music! You say about that what every unprofessional say.

No, No, No! Meat Loaf was the first Metal and Punk singer! Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden were the first Heavy Metal bands. Open the specialist books!!!

Got it!!! And there is the reason of the whole problem!! The difference between Metal and Heavy Metal!! If this is so, off course you are right!! But in Germany we know Metal as the same thing as Heavy Metal! And this is really the reason, why I said, that Meat isn't Metal. If you have the opinion that Metal is not the same as Heavy Metal, so "Bat Outta Hell" IS Metal!! Now, I think Heavy Metal is a harder version of Metal. In Germany the word Metal has no difference to the word Heavy Metal, it's the same kind of music. And the music, that YOU call Metal, in Germany is Classic Rock! I don't know why it is so, but it's the fact!! So we are right, both!!
