36. Rock 'n' Roll Mercenaries
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!! Rock 'n' Roll Mercenaries (5) Grrrr.... What is it? My opinion that it is a very feeble song. A bad '80's pop-rock song. It's just leaning on sythesizer and I don't like it. I hate Depeche Mode... Sometimes we can hear electric guitar but it's same feeble. The story... I don't like the disappointed songs. In Hungary we had to listen million disappointed songs in the Socialism (not Communism). It's enough to me. I'm missing the emotions. It's too material to me... My score: 5 From my heart I'd give less but I think we know worse songs in this album... Average: 6.60 (33/5) |

This is actually a very interesting song.
If you listen to the lyrics,it's a song about people who are in the music buisness for all the wrong reasons."It's Not For The Song,It's Not For The Love,It's Just For The Gold And There's Never Enough". If you have no love or passion about your work,if money and record sales are all you are interested in,you don't even belong on a stage . It's a song that I think is getting more and more relevant. 7/10 Just listen. P.S. Meat Loaf is a Rock & Roll Hero, not a Rock & Roll Mercenary . |

I think "Rock'n'Roll Mercenaries" is one of the best songs on "Blind Before I Stop". It's a piece of good rockin' music out of the cooperation between Meat Loaf and Frank Farian.

This is not a bad song, but it is far from Meats best. Early evidence that the voice was not gone forever! This was exiting by itself.

Like it, though HORRIBLE track separations on the BBIS CD.
