18. Wolf At Your Door
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!! Wolf At Your Door (5) I don't like this song. I think this album is the worst by Meat Loaf. The lyrics want to take after Jim's lyrics. The girl and the boy in the backseat. Not wrong but Jim is better. The music? I say nothing. Meat maybe said in himself I want to end it as soon as possible. No, it's not good. A simple rock... My score: 5 Average: 6.00 (42/7) |

Wolf At Your Door is one of my favorite songs on the album (even though the opening riff remindes me of R.E.M.).
This song was written by Meat (and Steve Buslowe) about when he lost everything. The lyrics are great. It's a mixture of confusion, biterness and anger. It says, hey i'm hard working i'm honest why is this happening to me and why is them doing it . My favorite lyric is "Trusted To Many,Belived To Much".That line sums up the whole song. Wolf At Your Door is a song written in a very hard part of his life, when many people betrayed him,i'm just glad he came through it all and he's still rocking as good as ever . 8/10 Playing For Keeps. P.S.To everybody who didn't believe in Meat and ripped him off...... |

I think the album Midnight at the lost and found is a great album. There are some beautifull songs on it, but also some songs that aren't that good.
It's indeed what Flying Mouse said, it was made in a time that Meat was broken and everybody betrayed him. So in that way the album is great. It's real anger, fear and confusion. Some of the lyrics are great, not all of them. But i've got the feeling that the music is not worked out in the way it had could be worked out. But he, i couldn't do it. With that note, it's easy to write about a song, and that you don't like it, or that you like it, but i couldn't do it better myself. So Meat has done a great job. About the song Wolf at the door. For Meat Loaf standard i would say a standard song, so i'll give it an 7,5. Indeed you can hear that he's been broken by people he trust, and that he thinks that the world is against him. But we (the people on this forum) know that that is not true. And ofcourse, this is (one) of the reasons that he is still a normal person, without the crazy things that some "stars" have. |

Absolutely not the best song on the album. This song isn't bad, but also isn't good. The lyrics are strange, music is good.

Meat doesn't like it
I think Meat himself has said he doesn't like the album and/or the songs on it.
