Default Not Sure

I have been looking around for Meat CDs today on the net, and these CDs came up I was wondering if these are 'real' CDs or bootlegs, as they came up as out of print cds, and I know I don't want to spend £30 a shot for bootlegs:

'MEAT LOAF - SUPERSTAR CONCERT
(000dpk) Meat Loaf , Superstar Concert , US Westwood One live 2 CD radio show w/cues, 94/24'

'MEAT LOAF - KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR
(000K69) Meat Loaf , King Biscuit Flower Hour , US promo only Radio Show, complete with cue sheets.'

'MEATLOAF - TRICK OR TREAT (LIVE IN NEW YORK 18-9-93)
MEATLOAF, TRICK OR TREAT (LIVE IN NEW YORK 18-9-93), US 2xCD NETWORK RADIO SHOW'

There are genuine CDs of these shows out there Rob. How can you be sure they're bootlegs? These concerts were recorded for radio play, pressed onto CDs and distributed to radio stations throughout the USA.

They will have the name of the show, Superstar Concert Series, etc. printed on the disc itself along with the show number & week to be aired. If they haven't I wouldn't even think about buying them. Always make sure you get the cue sheets as well. They come in paper sleeves with the King Biscuit and Westwood One logos printed on them.

The King Biscuit Show was recorded at The Music Hall, Cleveland, Ohio in 1978. The Superstar Concert Series Show was recorded at the Hudson Theatre, New York at the very beginning of Meat's Bat II World Tour in 1993. I believe the Trick Or Treat Show is the same as the Superstar Concert Show, but somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ask the seller for more details if you have any doubts they are genuine.

Hope this helps.

It's a bit trickier than that, since the fact that it are pressed CDs does not mean it aren't bootlegs.

What are bootlegs? The general consensus is that bootlegs are recordings (live performances, studio-outtakes, hard-to-find material -- but never copies of "regular" albums. That would be piracy. ) that are not authorised by the artists. If someone wants to make a bucketload of money on them, he could do some fancy artwork, get them pressed and sell them. (Oh, and selling/buying bootlegs is bad! Trade 'em!)

Since I don't believe they are authorised by Meat Loaf (why aren't they widely available then) - I'm led to believe it are bootlegs.

If it's a bootleg or a genuine recorded show how many live versions of Bat Out Of Hell or Paradise do you want?. This is one of my big beefs about Meats CD singles, there's just not enough original Meat on them!. Yeah you've got the main song that's no different to the album and then there's either some crappy edit version (that sounds no different) or a couple of 'live' songs.

To be honest I think I will leave this one anyway no matter what. At £65.99 I think it can stay there.
