Default It's official, the new Dr. Who is. . .

... Christopher Ecclestone.

A bloody good actor but a left-field choice and totally unexpected....

Just to show my stupidity. Who is Christopher Ecclestone? I'm sure I've heard the name before.

I think Ecclestone would be quite good.

Am glad it isn't a "big-name" star per-se as that would just lead to the actor overshadowing the character whereas I doubt Ecclestone is well known enough as himself for this to happen.

And a good enough character actor to make it work. Provided he goes the right way with the part. Time will tell....

Don't know what you're talking about but everytime I see that picture, it reminds me something a friend of mine told me about it:

"His scarf is not very Rock & Roll!!!"

Oddly enough, I thought the series ended with Sylvester McCoy. I was insanely obessed with DW when I was in high school, I'm glad to see that it is still going on. I hope it will be shown on BBC America, I'll check it out. Though I am a hardcore Pertwee and Davison fan and no one will ever top them in my book! Peter Davison was the Doctor when I first started watching the show so he is "the first" for me, and once I eventually saw all the available shows I found that I liked the Pertwee/UNIT era best of all. Somewhere I have a rather silly picture of me as a teen hunched over a TARDIS control panel at a convention- oh my!

It did end. However it's being re-started, Proper cgi and everything. I'm looking forward to it.

Des! All that's missing is a sink plunger attached to your forehead and you'd make a perect Dalek

I think from now on you shall be known as Davros

Deb,

Davros is the horrid leader of the Daleks- here is a photo:

I can see calling you a Dalek in your current condition, but I wouldn't go so far as calling you Davros himself!
