Well too many to mention really.

I actually think "Out of the Frying Pan" is one of the most exciting songs I have ever heard and the music captures this excitment perfectly.

I was listening to it on the way to work this morning and it sounds like the ultimate fast song. I was glad to see it included in the recent tour and the shows I was at. Incredible versions.

"...so wonder down the ancient hallway...."
"...And I want to take you..."

Beautiful melodies.

I'm gonna have to go with BOOH for this one. There's quite a a lot to choose from mind you.....but BOOH wins everytime! I LOVE the guitars the most! Very distinctive song!

Read 'Em And Weep.
Without the chorus ruining it like it does, this would be the best song he's ever recorded. Period.

Ruining? No, Chorus is great. Lyrics are tremendous: And all those promises we promised to keep they wont be kept anymore is my fav.

Last verse from Objects is great. And the first and second verse from bat is unbelievable. Just like a movie. First he describes the scene: The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling way down in the valley tonite..
And then comes the epic.

I love the second part from I'll kill you if you don't come back. Great lyrics.

I love More than you deserve, but then again it really depends what mood I'm in. Like on the way to the concert i had bat out of Hell on full blast in the car and my window was open and it just gave me this great feeling!! Oh i can't decide. I usually go with albums. If i'm in a story kinda mode i'd go with Welcome To the Neighbourhood. Or if I'm feeling really theatrical i'll go for Bat 2. IfI'm feeling very original I'll go for Bat and so on etc etc!!

When the drums and power symphonic orchestra are coming in For Crying Out Loud.

And the second is the Tyre Tracks And Broken Hearts section in A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste...

I always think it's the one song Steinman could've made painfully emotional. The 'rockyness' of the chorus and middle eight spoil it for me I'm affraid.

Here I go again...

- ... like a sinner before the gates of heaven... part, before it explodes in BOOH
- the beginning of You Took The Words
- the first notes of 2 Out Of 3 with that long sweet bass note
- the passionate piano notes of For Crying Out Loud

- the ... somebody bless all the girls... part of I'll Kill You If You Don't Come Back
- the pace and the 6 repetitive bass/piano notes of I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us
- the bridge of Read'em And Weep ... for the magic that our bodies had made...
- the bridge of More Than You Deserve ... now I think I'm going to have to leave you...
- the chorus of Everything Is Permitted

- the drums of Midnight

- that particular depressive sound of Execution Day and Standing On The Outside

- that high guitar note at the beginning of Original Sin
- the chorus of Left In The Dark
- the crescendo of Where Angels Sing

- all in AFL
- the 6 repetitive guitar notes of Life Is A Lemon + the crescendos and the drums
- that sliding bass note on RnR Dreams
- the repetitive/changing guitar/piano/drums rhythm of Frying Pan
- the chorus and the lullaby rhythm of Objects
- the lullaby rhythm of Lost Boys & Golden Girls

- ... and I fall apart at the seams... part + the chorus of MOS
- the percussions/drums and rhythm of Testify
- the 'special voice effects' of Do It!*

I do NOT like the music of A Kiss!!!!!!
And do NOT like most of arragements on BBIS and a few on BOOH II.

Patricia
... my favorites as far as music is concerned:

* I read a french review of CHSIB which said that Do It! was THE ONLY GOOD SONG on the album!

I should have been more precise.

I do like the music of A Kiss in Storytellers 'cause it's a very sober version: piano, guitars, almost unplugged! but I don't like the studio version - it sounds too much musical, it's too much exagerated...

Meat's interpretation of this song is passionate and, for me, a vocals/piano version like Heaven Can Wait would be more suitable.

But I do love the lyrics...

That's because Lloyd Webber wrote the music and Steinman wrote the lyrics.

Intro of AFL, also where it goes "I'd do anything for love, anything you've been dreaming of.." for the second time, and the guitar is wailing up and down in the background :)

The chorus of IJWQ, especiallt the third time when you hear the piano more.

The instrumental in OOTFP that's in Meat's version near the end, but not in Jim's

On the LATW cd, Objects, after the chorus has been sung a second time. I think it's fantastic!!!!!

The intro to GGGTH, after the adlibbing at the very start

ELTEE during "a wasted youth is better by far"

Intro to Bat, motorcycle part, and the bit in between the first and second singing of the lyric "and I never see the sudden curve..."

ARUWNPTG intro.

FCOL.

Peel out intro

Dead Ringer

Can I do other one's of Jim? :)
The instrumental of SRL

BFG, during the "For the good..." lyrics, you know where there's that little pause in the vocals?

TEOTH instrumental

Ravishing

FTTSON. especially the outro where the notes are soaring way up the scale but it actually sounds good! In fact I just love the whole outro!

You know, I never really liked instrumentals until I heard Bat 2! Now I love most of Jim's :)
