Default MOS MID-WEEK CHART UPDATE!!!

I think you'll all find this quite interesting: http://www.mtv.co.uk/mtv.co.uk/news/...cleId=30085388

This article is basically saying that Meat is just outside the top 10 at the mid-week stage!!! A bit more of a push and he might actually just make it in there!

Still gotta pick my copy up - Friday's the day!!!

I'd like to think that the article is saying that MOS is "just outside the top 10", but I read it as simply a list of the new releases that are not in the top 10- could be #11, could be #111.

i read it as bein just outside the top 10 cos if i read on it says
Quote:
Outside the top ten, new entries are on the cards for Ja Rule with 'Clapback/Reigns', Blink 182 with 'Feeling This', The Coral with 'Bill MCCai', Meatloaf with 'Man Of Steel', Limp Bizkit with 'Behind Blue Eyes' and No Doubt with 'It's My Life'.

Further down the top 40, new entries are set from Room 5 Featuring Oliver Cheatham, The Thrills, Dizzee Rascal and Mary J Blige Featuring Eve.
maybe i've read that wrong

"Nov 2003
The big man with the big hands returns to the fray with this the second single to be taken from his massive selling album 'Couldn't Have Said It Better'. The single features two exclusive live tracks plus a limited edition 'magic eye' poster of Meat Loaf's face using a collage of faces of lucky competition winners. "

This is the review from HMV.co.uk... The single is now easily available.

I still haven't seen ANY promo!!???!?!?!

Anyway, big hands? Is that the best they could do?? Still. Exciting news about the chart though!!!

It's gone from 10 to number 8 in my local Asda so not all doom and gloom.

I tell you something obsessive, on monday my sister went into our HMV here in blackburn and she said there was 3 rows of 4 cd's for meat's single so you can guess how many they had...

I went in today to buy some and they had sold out... completely... i don't know how many they had in stock, but they had none left in the store and said they should have some more tomorrow.

I don't know if this is good or bad because thats a day of sales lost and I doubt in the grand scale it won't mean much.

I don't think the person could understand why I was pleased when she told me they had sold out. I went to another shop in town and they had only 3 copies left so I couldn't buy loads. I decided to just pick up one copy and leave someone else the chance...

Hopefully lots of singles have been issused and not just 7000 like last time...

If it gets a good place, then I hope everyone is proud of themselves, I know I will be :)

read the article carefully. it says "outside the top ten new entries are on the cards for...." and lists meat loaf.

then a little further down it says "Further down the top 40, new entries are set from....." and lists other artists.

this is basically implying that the single at the moment will make it well into the top 40 and the top half of the table ie number 11-20 or so.

dont know how thery know this but at least it is encouraging, my local woolies only had 1 copy on monday - id like to think they had almost sold out!

I bought mine in the HMV in Manchester Station...They had some copies, but people had been buying it. Most importantly, it was only £1.99! Much cheaper than some of the other singles, so this could help.

On the other hand though, the poster?! Come on, it's awful. Why didn't they just leave it as the picture of Meat? I would much rather have had that. The live versions aren't too hot...if DIST isn't gonna be a single, why not put that on? Seems to me the marketing isn't too hot for this single, but we'll see.

I agree that the article seems to say it will be fairly high up. And I also agree the poster is crap - doesn't look like Meat at all.

Got mine from Virgin, and the girl behind the till said "Meat Loaf, good choice"!!! Then she said she grew up to him and liked him. I said I'd missed out on Monday's concert and she said she'd be gutted if that was her. She also seemed really interested that he had a new single out - even the music store staff don't know about it!!

Was nice to get such a complement from her though - she was young like me too so pretty surprising.

Is this in the Mid Week chart (I didn't think they were released until Wednesday) or the official charts? If the latter I posted about that in the "Meat Loaf hits the charts at..." thread on Sunday. I also posted that all that means is that of the 20 songs above MOS in the charts, only 3 are rocks songs.

The official charts list the top 20 rock songs, the top 20 dance songs and so on so, as nowadays (unfortunately) few rock songs make the charts, any song that does will feature quite high in the rock charts.
