Default Favourite Live Version?

I've just been listening to a Meat Loaf bootleg cd from New York 1993 and the live version of Life Is A lemon is the best I've ever heard, it has a great intro and Meat really gets into the song as though he is reallf p...ed off and Life really is a lemon.
I would say this is my favourite Live version of any Meat song so I wondered what other peoples was - I know a lot of people don't have bootlegs ect but surley you've heard a lot of his songs live before so which one is your fave?

Default FAVOURITE LIVE

Hi Renegade Angel,

I do not have any boot leg albums, so i only can go by live gigs i have been to. My favourite would come from the Bad Attitude live gig at the Apollo theatre Glasgow (Scotland ) 19th December 1984 the short list would be
1. Jumpin the gun
2. Piece of the Action
3. Nowhere fast
And the winner is JUMPIN THE GUN .

Take care and keep rockin

First of all: Wolfy, check my site, at the bottom of the post there is a button with WWW, that brings you to my site.

Second...

Rock and Roll Dreams is live so great!! Most of the Bat 2 numbers are live so great, that it is hard to choose.
But life is a lemon and rock and roll dreams are one of my favorites.

The Butcher.

Life is a Lemon is always a superb live track, although you can't really beat actually hearing it as it happens. I think my favourite rendition of Life is a Lemon was in Wembley 94 when each time the base drum sounded flames shot upwards out of the stage, what an effect I can still feel the heat today.

I think my favourite live CD tracks are Heaven Can Wait on the Live Around The World CD (its sung with such feeling and Jim Steinman's piano solo just sets the track alive) and Anything for Love and All Revved Up on the Bootleg Cardiff CD from Dec 93.

Paradise or Rock 'N Roll Dreams have always been my two favorites .. until I saw him sing Couldn't Have Said It Better at the Mohegan Sun :) I still can't get it out of my mind .....

I'm just praying that he'll come back my way again next year and I'll have the chance to see him sing DIST just once. The level of emotion he brings to that song on the CD is absolutely incredible .. I can only imagine how amazing it is to see that live ......

Believe me when you've seen it you are in a higer atmosphere. I've seen it twice now and it made me cry everytime. When it's on my cd player I find it difficult not to cry. The emotions are so real when Meat does it live.

I realy hope that you have the chance to see it done live. :)

For Crying Out Loud from "Live Around The World"

Its such a fantastic song that I thought without the orchestra behind it it wouldn't be so great. I was obviously wrong because this version is fantastic!

Yes .... from the way people have been describing it, I understand exactly what you mean. I still get chills even when I hear it on the CD.
Thanks .. hopefully we'll all get the chance to see it sometime :)

I haven't heard many live versions. I really haven't heard many . But what I have heard, I LOVE Paradise in Night Of The Proms. I wish there were a site, where I could get the song or the video. with 11\10.!!

The worst live version known is... Bat Out Of Hell (The one did on the remasterd version of BOOH on September 1, 1978 at Nassau Colieseum, Hempstead, Long Island, New York. (rated a 3\10 for the effort) Sorry, but only the music is good. Maybe some, MAYBE some vocals sounded good. But I don't blame Meat, all that touring can do that to ya. He is still the best. Even the best can have their worst moment.

Live 87, at Wembley is the best record. Modern Girl he sings great.
But now i have form somenone her Lost Boys 88, Birmingham and that is the best concert from the 20th century. Every song on it is the best. This was Meat's best year ever.

So many faves, depending on my mood.

Objects, HCW and Crying Out Loud from Live Around The World.
No Matter What from Night Of The Proms.
Bat from AFL single - love how that he keeps that intro going forever.
AFL from Cardiff 93.

I beg to differ. I immensly enjoy the live version of All Revved Up from the Objects single. Most versions I've heard of that song sound the same to me. This one really stands out.
And I found that live version of Paradise not that enjoyable. The whole middle-section does nothing for me. I miss the visuals. If you see what's happening on stage, it might be a good version, but without it - that whole part does not make sense... but hey, I'm the guy who could do without Paradise :)

Okay i am gonna listen tonite. He did also a nice speach on the bad attitude video. Well, they have cut it from the video but back in the late eighties Superchannel showed the speech from All revved up. really nice.

My favorite has got to be 'Out of the Frying Pan' live from Cardiff, Wales in november 1993! I love this version. 'For Crying out Loud' from the LATW cd comes in a close second though!
