Single not released in the US?

Is it safe to assume that the planned August 15th release of the CHSIB single in the USA didn't happen? None of my local stations seem to have heard of it.

Anyone know the scoop?

It didn't happen in Canada either. From what I can tell, It was cancelled but I'm not totally sure why.

The last I've heard is that it's going to be released in the US & Canada on September 2nd

I don't know if this means it'll be available in the stores or not .. but apparently that's when they're going to start playing it on the radio !!

Makes me wonder ... I'm lucky enough to be going to the show on September 3rd at the Mohegan Sun .... which is the next day. It'll be very interesting to see if they do anything extra special that night to help promote it ??

That's a very good question Heat ... and unfortunately I don't know

According to the message posted on the OIFC, the single is going to be released on September 2nd, but I don't know if this means it's going to be played on the radio starting on September 2nd, or if it will also be on sale. The CD is still supposed to be released on September 23rd ... so I would think if they're going to sell the single, it would be before then.
Caryl and I have called a lot of record stores, and they don't have any information about the single ... and the only one listed on Amazon.com is the UK import

If I find out anything else, I'll let you know :)

I hope it gets released as a single that can be purchased, and it would be nice to see something extra on it, even if it's just a remix. Unfortunately, some singles are never put out as ones you can buy and only ever exist as radio singles.

The message from Meat's management company to the OIFC was that the single will be released to radio on 2 Sept .. given that most on-line companies supplying the USA now have the album listed for pre-order and that's due for release on 23 Sept, I think if there was a single coming before then they'd have that listed for pre-order too .. particularly as Amazon is listing an imported single from Germany.

The President of Sanctuary is quoted that they believe the best way to sell their more mature singers is by promoting through tours. Perhaps they will release the album in September and save a single release until the second leg of the US tour, when they might expect that people who have bought the album might well be tempted to buy a single, particularly if it has a track not on the album.

I hadnt hearrd a thing personally but hopefully iVick you are riight about sept 2nd? What does that do to the release date for the cd? I thought it was suppossed to be end of August but was moved to end of Sept?

Caryl why havent we seen any videos much sooner if at all? Some of them have already been done. Why was the release date for a single released so close to the release lof the actual cd????

When I wrote "the message from Meat's management company to the OIFC .... " I was just passing on what I had read. I'm not part of the OIFC .. and heaven forfend anyone should ever get the impression I was passing myself off as such :)

So my personal take re the videos would be that if you mean videos from the current concerts, it's my understanding that these are very recent and that Kasim was at work mixing these just last week. If you mean the videos of new song tracks, these have been put on discs released in Germany and the UK, and I'd hazard a guess that this would be the case with the US release .. although Sanctuary (I think) is reported as saying that Meat is one of their artists who have signed for adding a more interactive experience on new albums .. so perhaps something even better is in store for you .. or will be "in store" on 23 September

As to the release of the single and album being so close together .. do you mean in the UK? The answer to that is I have no idea. My own view would be that a longer gap would prevent album sales from reducing singles sales, but it appears that Mercuiry did not expect the single to be sold in very large numbers as they pressed under 7000 the first time round. Meat was clearly taken aback and seemed surprised (let alone very miffed!!) at that, but as to whether he was expecting a longer gap or not I don't know. If you are talking about in the US, as far as I'm aware there is no date for a single release to the public. The major chains in the US do not appear to be expecting one.
