Default The Ballad of Lucy Whipple

Tonight on TV3 here in Sweden at 9pm Swedish time the movie "The Ballad of Lucy Whipple" is gonna be broadcast.

Has anyone of you here seen the movie? What do you think about it? Does he has a big role?

It was a friend of mine who gave me the the tip about the movie otherwise I had totally missed it. I must say I have never heard of this movie before at all.

I saw a book at work with this same title, I would suspect the movie must be based on it. Is this movie about frontier era/ pioneer times in America? Thats what the book seemed to be about.

Sorry, Sherrie, I didn't see your posting earlier.
Yes, the movie is about pioneer times in America. So, I think the movie is based on the book.
Who wrote the book?

Love,
Eva

Yes ... it's the story about a young girl (Lucy Whipple) growing up in California during the 1800's. Meat plays one of the men digging for gold. In the beginning she doesn't like him .. but soon they gain each other's respect, and become friends :) It's a very good, family oriented movie,
and Glenn Close does an excellent job playing the young girl's mother.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it

Thanks, Diane.
I saw the book just two minutes ago by www.amazon.de
It is also available in the German language. It is a book for teens (and I think for adults with a young heart, too)
Maybe I will buy the book. Because the movie IS very good.
Love,
Eva
