Where the hell did my post go? WHAT IS WITH PEOPLE DELETING MY POSTS! I said nothing wrong....oh lord

I am honestly tired of people altering what I have written. It is not for you to decide. If you want to continue doing this, then you will find I won't be posting here. There is not a single other place on the internet where I have had what I have written altered or outright removed without my consent or any valid reason given.

Any site owned by someone has the right to have rules and apply them, but for heavens sake, there literally is no other place I have seen that does this sort of mass cleaning and scraping posts out into the trash. I can understand if someone had said something inappropriate, and were PM'ed and asked to please alter the wording to be less offensive. But I know for a fact that what I said was absolutely appropriate, and was supportive of Caryl's post, as well as discussed the show as Caryl had. It is the highest form of ignorance to think that someone "up there" feels they can silence a person without any sort of democratic process. *insert examples of dictatorships and how they went down*....Please, PLEASE I am begging you. Look at what you are doing. I love this place to bits except for the mass culling of words!!

Who defines "inappropriate"? Why is one person held to a standard while certain others are not who did the same basic thing? That is what happens when you introduce the "crony" factor.
Who knows. I think Gore Vidal said it all. In fact Meat had a quote on it too. I know the response I will get, but you are correct that I have never been on any site, anywhere that compares even remotely.
That is me being honest about your post though I'm sure it will be seen as some buzz word or code word like "flaming" or "trolling". No it is not, it is called being honest. If being honest rocks a boat then at least I am in good company, we wouldn't have civil rights had people not been willing to stand up and speak their minds and be honest.

Some of what I've read here is simply horse-feathers, and demeaning to a team of fair-minded people who moderate this board. Sarcasm, mockery and behind the bike shed schoolboy-bully tactics is not "honesty" .. it's simply bullying .. and naff-all to do with civil rights. Implying I get special treatment as some kind of "pal" is also nonsense. I actually suggested that it might be best to delete the thread I started to give Meat credit for a superb show in Vegas. Despite the fact that my review was genuinely liked by many, anything I write here seems to be subjected to a level of scrutiny and critique/feedback on style which I cannot remember any other forum member being so generously afforded. I am happy that the thread was left here, as I do think it's perfectly reasonable for those who have been to a show to post their review in any style they choose. No-one is forced to read mine, but I do not need helpful criticism of my writing. Meat is famous for over the top, Jim espouses it. You don't like my style? You think it's over-the -top? Don't read it .. it's clear who has written it. Mocking it with sarcasm is simply cheap.

Matt, I agree you said nothing out of order, and I'm sorry you feel aggrieved that your post got removed, but sometimes when a thread is pruned inoffensive posts get swept away .. it's happened to me. I don't think there was any intention to "silence" you, and I certainly found nothing in the least offensive in what you posted.

But first i feel I have to address a few points in the recent feedback threads. I see the name Gore Vidal mentioned here and his quote in Loaferman's sig "The Smell of the Weimar Republic is in the Air". I don't know Mr. Vidal, so I googled this quote. I didn't find the exact context, but I did find some references to the USA being a "police state", a "nazi state" and it seems to me that this is a proper interpretation. Your sig and the quote imply that you consider this as a "site controlled by nazis". Let me tell you this: I am german, I live in Germany and with regard to my interpretation above, I do consider this quote and your latest post an insult to me and the whole team. In fact, I have banned users for exactly this (temporarily, with the exception of one). Calling someone a Nazi by pulling the free speech card is so cheap and easy, that some people simply forget what this site is. It still is a private community, we have a set of rules and we clearly state that we will edit/remove posts we feel are inappropriate - with more or less leniency, depending on the staff member. Period. i usually have a very relaxed approached to this and I hardly interfere with moderation (unless you have a go at me personally), but recently I reported two of your posts. OK I don't have a hammer or a switch to flip, so I have to word everything cautiously. You seem to want to bait me into "hanging myself".

First of all the quote is just that a quote. Another poster referred to it to associate me with a "smell" (not trolling though) so they brought it into posts first, not me. It was in my signature. They brought it into play. As far as it being a quote, it is what it is- a quote.

If I quote Jesus do I need to quote the entire Bible?

Is the "free speech card" like the term the "race card"? In other words you use a negative connotation attached to it up front to try to negate my opinion or imply the idea that my opinion has no basis because I'm playing a "card".

Patti doesn't do cover songs? I thought she sang Queen songs. Anyway that is another thread.

My history on this forum goes back quite a ways and I personally resent the word "troll" and the big capital letters (shouting). I have a very long history or non "trolling" only recently have certain parties decided that I am because I express myself. Maybe I need to re-thinnk it, but it is legitimate expression even if it is considered to be "wrong expression".

Speaking of nazis, how did they treat the one's who's attitude they didn't like??

The other party posted that they remeber the good old days when everything was all positive and we did not have these evil people who may not always agree and dare to say it.

I am serving my 30 days, in spite of others "trolling" and "baiting" me about bike sheds, calling me a "bully" and other things including covered over profanity and apparently that is an attitude you do like (no caps).

I can not PM the other party to keep it off board while she still goes at me and she says she would not accept them. I would have legitimately asked her to discuss it privately and try to make amends or just agree to disagree and stop going at each other, but my attempt is already rejected. I am willing to talk.

If they are going to keep going at me while I already have a target on my back and can not even PM I do not think that is an admirable attitude either.

And for what it's worth I don't think loaferman was in the wrong. I've tried more than my fair share of attempts at reaching out to various people by PM and extending the olive branch, but I'm either met with silence or rudeness every time. So I know how you feel.

So if someone calls us a bunch of nazis using a mesh of quotes, I shouldn't go public about it? When was the last time you had a visitor in your realm insulting you like that and what did you do about it?

Well, to coin a popular example (for me, at least), the last time I was in that situation on this very board (which I acknowledge is your realm, though really, isn't the point of having a community that the realm then becomes that of said community), where someone had insulted me, privately and on the board (albeit in a veiled way here), and when I confronted them about it publicly (as they refused to respond to PMs), you locked the thread, asked me to stop discussing outside matters (which it actually wasn't), and ultimately banned me.

So, you can probably see why some people get upset every now and then. Speaking of which, did you get my PM several weeks back Rainer?

As for my own situation with the above - I'm over it, have been for an age, and am just attempting to get on and keep the peace.

But I will not put up with bullshit. From anyone.

Yes, or it's misquoted or one is mis-represented. I never offer my hand to be bitten twice. As far as I am concerned, if the request to reply by PM is addressed to me, I will now say for the second and last time on this forum, that I will not do this. I raised something on the Vegas thread because, like Rainer, I did not accept the genuineness of some comments, having seen a very different picture posted elsewhere .. that to me showed hypocrisy. I called the behaviour without attacking the person.

The rules do not oblige any member to enter into private correspondence with anyone they do not wish to. If this was addressed to anyone else, that is their choice to make.

I am sorry but neither option will ever be acceptable. Please do not repeatedly ask me to PM you, nor to raise again an issue you brought to the board before. The details (ie all the correspondence) were passed on to the forum owner at the time. I can say no more on the matter. Better imo we simply try and refrain from public exchanges except on uncontentional/factual matters. One favour I would ask. I have been writing for a living for many years. I do not post reviews here to seek feedback on my style, and would appreciate your not giving it. Thank you.

It is up to the moderators to decide whether what I post breaches the rules.

Unfortunately it's a fact of life of posting on this site. It may be some consolation - but probably not - but you weren't the only one to have posts deleted without cause or reason.

I had 24 hours between visits in which time a whole furore occurred and then was deleted - I have no idea what went on, other than my post disappeared with the rest.

I think we have all had fallings out on here down the years. I have myself had many battles, I've been banned, I've been attacked etc etc,, it comes with the territory. But most of the time it's fun and in fairness, it's a well run website IMO!!! I don't set the rules or laws on here etc etc,, that's up to the owner and mods. I agree with some things, and not with others. But I like to simplify things = not everybody gets on all the time, I come here for news, to see whats going on, it's great when meat posts from time to time. I don't come to cause trouble, nor will I kiss ass either, what I'm saying is this WHY IS EVERYBODY SO SERIOUS? It's a fan club website, nothing more or less!!! There are some ass kissers, trouble makers, pot stirers, etc etc, oh and cool nice people lol!!! It's like that everywhere. I would advise people not to take it so serious.
