Default New forum section request

Any chance we can have a new forum section (even a sub forum in Other Rock N Roll Heroes) for the music makers here to share their own music, and discuss thier own hints, tips, and methods of producing their music?

I quite like the name "The House Band" for it

errrrrrr, I think the name of the thing is taking over the bigger issue of does anyone actually think it's a good idea?
Would anybody use it?

My honest opinion?
With the lack of posts in "Other Rock'n'Roll Heroes" I seriously doubt there is a massive need to diversify even further bearing in mind Meat's music career is now definitely heading towards its twilight. I think you will have more posts in a thread like this debating on whether you need it rather than in the section itself. There only seems to be about 20 or 30 or so regular board members to me.

Surely we've got that base covered with Other Rock n Roll Heroes and Tribute Talk?

Other Rock'n'Roll Heroes
If you feel the sudden urge to talk about rockstars other than Meat Loaf, you can do so here in our vegetarian area.

Tribute Talk
A place to talk about the various Meat Loaf Tributes.
Discuss tributes bands in general and their performances. Arrange fan meetings and/or Meet'n'Greets.
The way I understand those...sort of but not quite. OR&RH is about other big name musicians, and Tribute Talk is Meat Loaf tributes specificially, isn't it? Whereas Mouses idea is more the general musicianship of posters here, whether it be related to Meat Loaf or not.

You could consider broadening the point of the "Other Rock and Roll Heroes" forum to include this. It doesn't see a lot of action as is, and this might not see a lot either. Combining the two might make that forum semi-active, at the very least. I might use it from time to time, for what the support of one person is worth I've read original lyrics from some people here in the Off Topic forum, and listened to some music of other posters from either their posts or the links in their signature. Making this stuff a little more open could be interesting, it'd make for a cool community...thing

Also, finding the description of those two forums above (and those forums at all) took far longer than it should of. Took me forever to find the tiny little "Life" link at the top of the Off Topic forum. Why are they so ridiculously difficult to locate?

Question

I'm sorry... I thought Mousie was talking about a forum for Meat fans here who work on making music, etc ? ... Give them a place here to share their work, show their progress ...?

That's right.

Trib talk is (as the name implies ) for tribs to post clips of themselves, tour dates etc, and for our members to review tribs or ask questions about them.

OR&RH is for the discussion of other established artists (or even ones that our members like who are not well known).

What I had envisioned for the new forum would just be about our own musical projects. The disussion of the creation, and the showing of the finished article.
For instance, I wanted to talk about how our members record their music, and the subject didn't seem to fit into Trib Talk or OR&RH.

No big deal though if the forum isn't busy enough to support the extra section
