Default "I hated You Took the Words Right Out Of My Mouth" - Meat Loaf interview 1983

guess thats why he decided to not perform it from 1983 through the better part of 1986.

im saddened by this. Though interesting video. Apparently he also hates Peel Out.

I've heard him say this in a few interviews. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even the performing artist.

Of course, I think he's nuts. I think each and every Steinman Piece is a work of art. IMO he has never released a bad piece of music.

If he doesn't like those songs I would hate to hear his real opinion on his 80's work. As good as it is, I don't know if most of it can hold a candle to YTTW.

I think he makes it clear though that he isn't saying the songs are "bad", nor giving his opinion on them as creative works .. simply that he couldn't find the character for them, and that's why he "hated" them. No criticism of Steinman's work, simply of his own inability to find a character that would for him convey the truth in them. More a reflection on why at that time he didn't enjoying performing them.
