Default The Best Song on 3 Bats Live?

For me its Objects easily. with RRD and Gimme Shelter following.
"Other" option includes Mercury, IACTMN, and Monster

All Revved Up
9) Seize The Night
10) Bat Out Of Hell
11) You Took The Words
12) Life Is A Lemon
13) It's All Coming Back
14) The Monster Is Loose
15) Out Of The Frying Pan
16) If It Ain't Broke, Break It

3 Bats has my favourite version of Rock and Roll Dreams, the arrangement was perfect, the only let down was that Patti wasn't on it.

Aside from that I'm half tempted to go for Gimme Shelter, it's a fantastic version which I actually prefer to the original (sorry Andy!!)...love hearing Meat's version, takes me straight back to tour!!

I'm gonna say Gimme Shelter as I actually really like Aspens singing on it and personally I'm really not a fan of her vocals (especially on Paradise)

Rock and Roll Dreams followed by Objects, and the rest have never done anything for me whatsoever. The arrangements were beautiful, probably the best they've ever been (particularly Rock and Roll Dreams)...but I can't bring myself to listen to anything other than those two because Meat clearly wasn't in a good state that night

Maybe the titles of these polls should rather be "your favorite song on..." instead of "the best song..."?

Can't really tell what the "best" song is, especially since I haven't watched that DVD often. When it comes to the music, they're are all great but Meat didn't appear to be in good shape that night, which is a pity. Unfortunately the 2007 tour wasn't one of his best but the song selection was interesting. I doubt that we'll hear certain Bat III songs live again soon. At the moment I'd opt for Objects, Blind As A Bat, The Monster Is Loose and Gimme Shelter.

The band was awesome. It's just a shame that Meat was not.

Exactly. Would have been an incredible performance if Meat's voice hadn't have been in the state that it was.

I think the original plan was for Meat to redo the vocals for the concert in a studio, but his management kept him too busy.

I don't think the vocals were that bad imo. In fact I thought the concert was really good for the first half as far as i remember. It was the Bat 3 songs that didn't seem to be so good, although i thought it was a good performance of monster and blind as a bat.

I know Meat had issues with bat 3, and he didn't enjoy the tour to a great extent, but let's not get swept up by his feelings towards the album and say it was a bad show because it wasn't.

Whatever happens Meat always goes out to give the fans the best show possible, and I thought it was a good one, and i think a lot of people underrate it just because of Meats feelings towards the album and the tour.

Youre not alone. Everythin after RRD seems to slide down hill till bat kicks in.
Whats sad is Europeans had In search of Paradise as Disk 2 and if they watched that first, the atmosphere of this show would've been a little weird when they would watch the DVD.

Personally the show lacks atmosphere. the vocals aren't horrid and the NLE is fantastic. Its the atmosphere that blows.

Correct, the vocals aren't horrid. The first half of the show is 'reasonable' but I think Meat gave it everything on Objects and just had nothing left in the tank. The venue doesn't help, what with it being a pokey theatre in the middle of nowhere, but I think the main problem is just that Meat looks really old and knackered throughout. The shows in the UK a few months later were much better and it's a shame one of those wasn't filmed instead.

I also agree that the In Search Of Paradise documentary does this show no favours either.

Love Objects in the rear view mirror and RRD. Also liked BAAB, it's up there with some of my favourite songs, and I think he did very well on it.

I really love this DVD, I think I might like it a little more then the MSO DVD. And In Search Of Paradise just made it better for me because to see how much he hated everything that was going on at the time and the turn around and put on an AMAZING show just blows my mind. If that would have been someone else they would have canceled the tour.

For me, Blind As A Bat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncJw7gNaexI) is just great. Awesome song, awesome performance.

I'm sad to say that 3 Bats was the worst Meat show I've seen. The band was good, but Aspen sounded like a Disney singer not a rock singer.

Yes, so true… That's why I don't like the DVD. My favorite song is Blind As A Bat. It wasn't good live, but on the DVD it's nice. Wish he would sing it again now that he's in a way better shape, I've always loved that song.

I think she is accurate. Aspen's voice would be perfect for Disney songs.

I love the interlude of "Seize the Night", reminds me of the Goffs when they used to do bits of songs like "Original Sin". Sounds good at the slow tempo, kind of gothic.

I don't know why they cut out The Storm instrumental that precedes it. I also don't know why they cut the instrumental before Meat talks to the audience at the start of Objects In The rear View Mirror.

Blind As A Bat for me - probably because most of the other songs have been done better before / since, and I wasn't really keen on BAAB until I heard the live version.
