Default The AFL Era.

I don't think I've seen a single clip where the vocal and performance has been anything less than excellent. To me the era captures a maturity in voice (and stage prescence) where perhaps it's not as effortless as it seemed in the late eighties, but it's definitely more intense. When you look at the narrative of who Meat Loaf had become in the eyes of the public at that time, he's almost like this fairy tale inspired, mythical character. Beauty and the Beast, Genie in the Jukebox, even the guy in the long jacket looking back at a past he can't let go. On stage - cear cutting vocals, and Meat Loaf as his own special effect. The life in those performances is pretty incredible - he's so into it that it kind of transcends just "singing a song".
