Id like them to make a new eta bio pic and not be lazy and have the actor mime the studio tracks
Personally look no further then Sean, The Maet Loaf Guy, Andy Pyrke, or Neil. They would be perfect. |

I'd love to see a film about Meat but I really hate the idea of Jack Black (I like the guy nothing against him just can't see him in a serious role) playing him but I'm probally in the minority.

Ive seen the film, and if im honest, I though it sucked. I know it was a low budget but I thought the film was pretty rubbish.
Id love to see a big cash movie on Meats life. And I dont mean to sound derogatory, but the film did suck |

On a tv movie budget and time used for commercials there was no way to do the movie well. Meat's life story is epic. He has seen the top of the mountain and the depth of the valley, he has been wealthy and broke, he has seen unparalleled world-wide fame and iconic status. His life is an epic roller-coaster ride and to properly portray such a story would take a huge budget and top A-list actors. If they could find an actor great enough to play Meat in his younger days, perhaps the man himself could play him today. I'm not sure a story as sweeping as this could ever properly be told in 2 hours or even 3. While the book was an exciting page-turner, I felt that it should have had a proper sequel such as "Bat" did that went into more detail about the making of the albums, the tours, and how Meat pours his heart and soul into giving so much to his fans and bringing joy to untold millions every day. I think both the movie and book are due a sequel done properly as a tribute to a legendary icon.

Is there anything Meat does that can't be described as a rollercoaster these days?
Think Jack Black isn't a bad choice. Having said that his status and the quality of the movies he is in really seems to have slipped over the last few years. Did anyone actually go to see the Gulliver movie? I avoided, partly because of 2 billion Orange adds they showed in the cinemas here leading up to its release. Felt like I'd see enough of it already. |

I think Jack Black would be a really good choice to play Meat Loaf. Don't forged the 2 of them played father and son in Tenacious D Pick of Destiny. I mean they even look a bit like each other. Luv cx

There is a pic on the net where they are next to each other - Meat in the 70s and Jack from this decade, and its surprising how much they look alike... And they both have OTT stage personalities, although, I reckon Jack never switches off...DDOOODE |

Meat Loaf needs a movie about his life. No question about it. How it is to be done is still a mystery though.
I can't see a standard biopic working for Meat though. Too generic. What Meat needs is an over-the-top buddy comedy about he and Jim Steinman trying to make Bat out of Hell. "Hell and Back" was all wrong. Scrap it and start over. It worked as a book perfectly, but movies don't work that way. |

Meat did say a few years back that Jack Black was supposed to play him, but they stuffed aound so much by the time they got around to making it Jack's career took off and it was too late.

Yes he did. And he wasn't at all happy with the final version, so I'm not sure he'd be very into the prospect of another one. Unless he ever decides to write part 2 of the auto-biography, and perhaps later direct any movie himself now he's been doing some directing :)

He's actually said in numerous interviews that he wasn't happy with it.

its sad to think this but I actually would like to see a meat movie being made is after meat passes away.
The best biopics are made when the person in question has passed on (Walk the Line comes to mind). |

Elvis the Movie. Kurt Russel nails Elvis in that one (plus I'm a big John Carpenter + Elvis fan)
