Jim - Bonnie Tyler: Ravishing (10)
I think this is one of the best Jim Steinman song. The lyrics is sure! I can compare the lyrics with For Crying Out Loud an I'd Do Anything For Love. You wouldn't know what does it want to mean really: - In FCOL you don't know is it dealing with God or a Girl. - In I'd Do Anything For Love you don't know what does it mean 'I can do that' - In Ravishing you don't know is it dealing with - hmmm... - sex alone or the feeling by the free and the night on the beach: There's nobody out on the beach There's nobody down in the woods We're gonna do it alone We're gonna do it outside - And I can feel the air it's sticking to our skin so tight And I can feel there's something special in this air tonight- -I really got it bad Tonight I really got it bad But it's still so good, so good That I got it at all and it was These lines are very mystics but my fav lines are the next: Just to get it at all, and it's so Ravishing, ravishing And I can't believe the way the stars are shooting through your hair You're so ravishing, ravishing And it's just my luck tonight I don't have anything to wear We're so ravishing I think Ravishing is one of the best disco song ever. In Hungary in an interview Bonnie Tyler said she didn't understand why wouldn't have been Nr. 1. this song? And I don't understand too... It's better than Holding Out For A Hero! You can take naked a girl during the dance. My score: 10 |

Code:
ravˇish tr.v. ravˇished, ravˇishˇing, ravˇishˇes 1. To seize and carry away by force. 2. To rape; violate. 3. To overwhelm with emotion; enrapture. Of all the 4 Steinman songs on SD&FF, I like this one the least. Imo, the lyrics are a bit unimaginative, and I think it's clearly about sex. Nothing more, nothing less. Altough I really like this part: "And if an angel broke his wings Would he come to you for parts?" And one thing that bothers me are the backing vocals; I find the "do do do" part after the first refrain really really annoying... 7/10 Edit: spelling |

I have had difficulty obtaining "Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire".
Is there any other alternatives where I can hear this 'so-called' BEST JIM SONG!? |

This song is as bombastic as hell. The wall of sound is great. The backing vocals on the entire record are very strong. I like the tututututu part in the end. The intro is great and so is Bonnie. 8/10
