Default This weeks Album Charts?

ok I'm a tad worried I have been requesting CHSIB on my local radio station since release. They have just played it as part of their weeks review of the album charts and they are placing it at No. 11 As they link up to HMV for their charts I dunno if its sales related or what and they aint answering the phone

Does anyone have any info or news on what we can expect this week

Sin - that is a tad worrying

I was in HMV today and CHSIB was at #2 in the album charts, so i don't know what's going on....

Very bad news. "CHSIB" has dropped to #12 in this weeks UK official album chart.

I'm totally shattered

Whilst record stores make offers encouraging people to buy other albums this will happen.

Gawd this is so terrible, i mean its a ~~~~ing disgrace, that means the shite busted are ahead of Meat. People will start saying this is another "Blind Before i Stop" which we know it isn't, it is far superior to any CD today in every way. This really enrages me when the public refuse to appreciate good music.

i reckon this must have a lot to do with HMV as they are probably the main contributors to the charts.

It really sucks that one large company can affect things this much

So what is everybody doing?
What success have we had?
What works best?
What else can we do?

Are there message boards, offices etc where there is no information?
Is anyone driving a car without something to alert people to the new album?
Are there any letters page in local papers that haven't had letters?

What's happeing?

Well, even after they played CHSIB on the chart show, I continued to listen to what was ranked above it, just out of curiousity. What a bunch of unrememberable pop pablum! If that's what the public wants to buy, that's what they will get. If they get sucked in by slick marketing, they are the ones that will own a CD that is insipid and will be forgotten in the very near future. :P

While 12th isn't great and I wish it was higher, keep in mind Meat has never been what you would call mainstream. The British public has given him great support over the years, probably better per capita than the larger and more diverse American public. I think 4th the first week and 12th the second isn't actually bad considering half the people buying CD's can't remember back 7 years when Meat last released an album. And he's had stiff competition w/ other new releases. He ain't no Madonna or Justin Timberlake (thank God).

I love the fact it entered the charts there as the #1 Rock album. And if you scroll down, you see at #18 (up from 22) is BOOH, after over 25 years. That says a lot more to me about whether this album (and Meat) is accepted and respected, than the pop chart which is currently topped by Timberlake.

Rock 'n Roll will never die, but the public's taste can sure turn to sheet.

End of rant,
T

The album is down 3 places to #16 in the charts this week so it must still be selling quite a few copies (which, IMHO, is good considering there's little promotion for it in UK at the moment).

In the rock singles chart CHSIB is down 4 places from #7 to #11 (which just goes to prove that there are an awful lot of singles currently in the charts that are not rock music!)

like Sue said considering the lack of promotion this is good. I wonder if the GN show will have any effect on sales??
