Default Meat Loaf Pub Garden Challenge!

SOunds interesting but I think some of the locals think different!

Landlady’s Meat Loaf challenge to perform in her pub garden
Jacqui Clapp: Come and sing at my pub!
A PUB landlady has challenged US star Meat Loaf to prove that he can still rock - by performing a special gig in her garden.

Jacqui Clapp has offered to stage a show at the Red Lion in Totton so that the ageing rocker can win back the hordes of fans left disappointed by his recent show at Romsey's Broadlands House.

Many of the 10,000-strong audience left the £37.50 gig early, complaining of poor sound quality and a lacklustre performance from the 60-year-old Texan, best known for hits Bat out of Hell and Dead Ringer for Love.

Shows in Bath and Nottingham - part of the Case de Carne tour - have also hit sour notes with fans.

Jacqui now plans to turn her pub garden into a mini arena featuring a top-notch sound system, two 40ft stage trucks and enough room for 4,000 fans.

The 42-year-old said: "I'm putting a challenge to Meat Loaf - come back and show us all that you can still rock.

advertisement"So many people were left bitterly disappointed by the Broadlands gig and it was painful to see such a poor performance by a real rock legend.

"It would mean so much if Meat Loaf were to come back and play to his fans and prove us all wrong by showing us how good he really is.

"He could come and play a show at the end of the summer after the tour is finished and before he flies back to the States.

"If he did that, all would be forgiven."

Devoted fan Jacqui added: "Although this is about putting on a show for everyone, it's also massively personal.

"My teenage years were spent singing along to Bat out of Hell, and I can still recite every word of every song.

"I never got to see him play back then, and seeing him live was on my list of things to do.

"When I finally got to see him it was such a huge disappointment and I was left feeling gutted, as were many fans.

"He needs to do something to convince us he still has it."

David Cox, Meat Loaf's publicist, was unavailable for comment.

Meat Loaf is due to play shows in York tonight and Norwich on Sunday.

Challenge in return, if you're such a big fan, how come you are not a member of this forum

She's offered a couple of other jobs to people as well.

She wants Jon Bon Jovi to serve behind the bar, Ozzy working down the cellar, and Steve Tyler cleaning the bogs

I think Meat should put this on his list of things to do as well. Perhaps then also he will get round to doing it in about 31 years time!
"Devoted fan"??? What a stupid woman.

I saw this article before and I wonder why this actually makes it into the news at all. Between Big Brother's evictions, the economy, Gorden Brown and pissing on Meat Loaf's parties there does not seem to be a lot else to report these days.... It's their loss in my opinion. I'm glad they didn't enjoy the show. They don't deserve it.

I totally agree with Andrew, what a stupid stupid woman..its not even worth commenting about...at first when reading all these really bad reports and some really nasty things said i was getting all hot and bothered and i bet my blood pressure was probably right off the scale..but now i just cannot be bothered..these people dont deserve anyone giving even one second reading their stupid articles...i really enjoyed seeing Meat as i think did the majority of his fans which i think is all that matters...
