An April Fools Day Thought.

Hope you all pulled some whizzing pranks today

I got Jo about half past midnight be telling her my house mate has got to have his leg off

But you know, comedy has gone through many stages, and taken many forms through history.

Especially modern comedy.
It seems to me that a lot of modern comedy has become too sarcastic, too intellectual, too clever for it's own good.
Modern comedy is not about being funny, it's about being a wise ass.

So, to honor the day of japes, the best comedy device ever used.

The Pie Fight

NOTHING is so essentially funny as a pie fight.

Someone might snigger through their noses as they fire off yet another sarcastic "oh really"

(sarcasm trully is the lowest form of wit), some comics might get make a living standing on a stage and talking about how screwed up modern life is

, some nut on MTV might have himself stung in the face by a jellyfish and then washes his face in his own urine to ease the pain

, but there's something so innocently harmless, good natured, and funny to the core about a pie fight that you would need a heart of stone to watch one without a giggle.

Random fact #438 ... the phrase "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" originated from an Oscar Wilde quote ... not surprisingly he was being sarcastic at the time...

What's wrong with intelligent humour?
I'd prefer a well thought out joke to the old pie in the face any day.
There's nothing bad about intelligent thinking, ya know?
