Too late now... unless they do it to get Meat's name back in the public eye prior to Bat3??
I can't see any way DIST will be released as a single now. Next single will be from Bat III. They might even release the album before the first single (as was the case with Bat II). Do we know that Bat III is being handled by the same record company as CHSIB?

Rumour has it (I think it's rumour, I know I've heard it, but can't recall whether it is from an official source or not) that Meat is suing whoever ****ed up the CHSIB stuff, namely the label.

Thus, I assume Bat III will be a different label.

Love to see Virgin back on it.

Good! I really hope he is suing the label who did CHSIB, they were dreadful. If Virgin or Epic do Bat III then i'll be very happy. Both of them are great.

It may not be such a bad idea to get an up-and-coming label, who don't have a huge rep yet.

In fact, I don't think it matters what the name of the label is, provided they bust their balls and get the album, the music and the man out there.

Is there a label called "ballbusters"?

Oh, you can laugh.

I'll catch you in the morning and tell you what has been achieved today, and not only will you respect my broken balls, but your jaw will dislocate, it will drop so fast...

I have to say I heard and saw Meat on the TV and radio promoting CHSIB. Thats how I knew the release date and played the album on my way home from work the day it was released in the UK.

The video's were not upto WTTN standard but I had the album and knew about the tour in good time. Perhaps others were just unlucky to miss the promotion. Maybe it missed the target market.

I can only speak for my area of Aus., but it was a fluke that I heard CHSIB on the radio, otherwise I wouldn't have known it existed.

Naturally, I bolted down to the nearest CD store to buy the album...had never heard of it. Ditto every other CD store in town. I had to get it ordered in..... (my now husband found it somewhere in the interim, but that's another story) it's hardly a promotion when the music shops don't know it exist.

I soooooo hope the Bat III is on the level of Bat II. Even up there would be fine.

Certainly in the Uk CHSIB was promoted. It was the single 'Man of steel' which failed in the charts ( it got to 17 I think ). That was due in part to Meats heart trouble, he was sick and unable to sing it live, etc.

All I can say is I knew about the album from his TV and radio appearences on regular 'chat' and music shows.

Although I think the promotion overall was disappointing (ie CRAP) there was SOME promotion. But not enough - remember when Bat 2 came out? It was EVERYWHERE and it sold by the bucket load (the promotion was backed up by quality music)!

I think I saw an ad for CHSIB twice on TV, a couple of live performances of the song on various chat shows... and that's it. Pathetic.

for CHSIB Meat himself did in germany a great promotion. He was in the two biggest TV shows "Wetten dass...?" and "TV Total".
It was even a little scandal connected with it. It was as headline of the biggest newspapers the next day.
What happend?
Meat gave Thomas Gottschalk from Wetten dass after the performance of DIST a tongue kiss (look here: http://www.meatloaf.de/_realmedia/_v...wettendass.ram)
Meat gave CHSIB as the themesong of the biggest TV production of the year, Napoleon.
So you can say here in Germany, the promotion was good.
The problem was either with Man of Steel, i didnīt knew it was released as a single.

I donīt know which label got Bat3, i just know that iīll be published through Universal Music.

Did I Say That was first single in Germany, i saw the video on VIVA (german music video station) once or twice, that's where I got first news of the new album. Man of Steel was only released as the fourth single, without the video being played bei MTV and co. Second was CHSIB, this video I only saw once, in the Album charts on MTV, and third was Because of you, which I only heard once on radio. All in all the presence of his songs in the media was simply to low to attract much interest here.

Well, I heard it on Radio with the dj saying something about new single, and that was before I heard of any MOS release. That's not a very reliable source, so I'm not that sure about it.

I thought MOS was the third single too. I remember there were rumors floating around that BOY may be released as a single, but, as far as I know, it was never released officially ...

Well, I searched the net a bit, but I looks like there wasn't a BOY-single.
Now I wonder why I heard of it on the radio??

BOY was supposed to be the third single here in Germany (Meat told me so), but it never happened.
So I think the radiostation thought it would be released soon.

Love,
Eva
