Just came across the blog site you were referring to caryl, where did it come from, who does it belong to? I stumbled upon it last night whilst looking for the charity concert reviews, does it belong to another site or is it on its own?
Minus what you posted above, it does have some good meat updates on the news front

I don't know Chris. There's no contact email so whoever runs it obviously feels free to post whatever they like without recourse from those they post about. Our website has our email addresses clearly on the Route page so anyone with concerns can contact us.

I can't believe just how petty minded some people are!!! Does it really matter that the questionairre is linked to the ROL site? I think not.

The fact that we have even been asked for our participation with this project is amazing, and speaks volumes for Caryl's and others efforts in trying to promote Meat when really it's a job that Mercury records should have been doing all along anyway. Just goes to show what a lot of dedication and perseverance can do :P

As for the questionairre being linked to the ROL site, i personally don't give a fiddlers fart - if some people find it a problem, fine, don't fill it in, but i for one am really pleased that Mercury want our opinion, and as long as i can get what i want to say across to them, then i have no problem with whatever site it may be linked to.

Just my humble opinion

Well said Heat

Does it really matter how or through whatever site they get the fans opinions from, just so long as they do.

Thanks Heat, Jen and Mariella. It's meant to be about Meat and the fans, nothing else

And I should also point out to the "concerned" that the auto-response Thank You will continue to come from ROL as we host the form. This is not an indicator of whether emailed forms are going to Mercury.

I agree with heat, I don't care wich site it is, it's the initiative that counts, and I would have filled it out anyway, because I believe our opinions count...

The question if one site is better to host a questionaire then an other is just nonsense. ROL is a good choice, not only because CarylB has had contact with Mercury, but also because she (and vickip) can reach a lot of fans....and the more input the better, but it could also have been MOTS or MLUKFC or OIFC for that matter (just some ideas, to make the point!)

Also, I think, it's the same kind of question as: Is MLUKFC better because Meat posts here??? same kind of nonsense question! People should just enjoy the chances they get, to cast there votes/opinions on the new single and they're chance to "talk" to Meat.

So I would say, Enjoy, have a great day and chill

time to toss in my loafdom dollar...that's right...i'm THAT tink..of ROL..in case no one had guessed by now...so go ahead whoever you are..hiding behind your blog...you can start on me now....you usually do...

when caryl told me about Mercury contacting her..i was so thrilled...for several reasons...

i was so happy that ROL had been selected to spearhead this project..and i agree with caryl...that in all likelyhood itwas because of her gallant effort to promote Meat's cd in the UK that she and the site came to their attention...

i was thrilled for her and vicki..on a personal level...they are more than just friends to me...they are family...as far as i'm concerned...they are my sisters...and i mean that from the bottom of my heart...they have been very kind to me...ours is not just some internet friendship...we have spent time at one another's homes...true day to day living time with one another....my point being...they that attack my sisters...attack me....

but most of all...i was oh so over the top thrilled..that Mercury was giving fans the opportunity to put two cents into what Meat would be releasing to his public...i can't tell you how many times...that on the ROL list...our citizens have bantered about what songs they would like to hear Meat sing....and now...all will have that opportunity to make their rock and roll dreams come through...have some input...to have one of Meat's cds go out into the world...and be able to say...i helped with the decision...how flooping thrilling is that???

and in good faith...caryl posts and let's all know about the project...and 99pct...are thrillled...but there's that ...1pct...and they know who they are....and quite frankly..i have my suspicions of who they are...only suspect as i've no proof...yet....that just have to up and rain all over the parade...for reasons of their own...

it's galling really...but nothing that i've not seen before...i was involved in working fan clubs...many moons ago..and saw it all back then....and i'm sure many moons from now...i'll see it all againe...

but i'll leave that sad point go...for now....

in the interim...as i've seen Meat say here...errr...or FIRE BALL..lol...and i paraphrase...chill out...relax...and have some fun...END OF PARAPHRASING...lol...

and be thrilled that you..yes ..you..hey..and you over there..will have a say in what our Meat will be releasing to the WORLD... :-) ...

come on..how very kewwwl...is that....

ps: Meat...if ya read this? the same as always i say to you...love ya...thank ya...bless ya..and stay well... biiiig hug...XO

oh..and big hugs for the rest of yez too..jeez..they get so jealous!!!.. rolling....

Frankly: If what I said somewhere would be quoted out of context so that it seems I was saying something different: I'd be very mad about that. Smoke coming out of my ears kinda mad. Especially if you can't respond to that or contact the one that did it.
I don't think you as internet-user can find out who's behind a certain weblog.
Your ISP can, internet isn't as anonymous as many people think, everything leaves a trace. But the security/abuse department of your ISP won't trace a person, unless it is about abuse.

It's strange though... I follow a few dutch weblogs myself and there the owner presents him/herself. After all, a weblog is kinda of an online diary. Some use it as a html-editor or website. But originally weblogs were meant as online diary's.

The things that were quoted, where on i-net did you say them?
And hey, don't let this spoil your fun and excitement. Would be a bloody shame if you let this rain on your parade.
Guppie

- edited because I used another word than "mad", which was forbidden

Hi Guppie and thanks :) The comments attributed to me were I think most likely copied from this forum during the discussions we had when the first single was launched. |I stand by them, but I think it's pretty mean spirited of whoever was responsible for posting them on that blog to put them out of context. So, I'm saddened when people try to diminish things .. but I believe this is a great project and I'm still proud to be part of it. People may try to rain on a parade .. but they can't really spoil a good one

What a shame we have such small minded people in this world.
Silly me I thought this was all about Meat Loaf and his fans.
Mercury ballsed up on the UK single and album release.........Caryl had the gumption and audacity to got straight to the top of Mercury and this obviously had an effect and they realised they needed to consult the fans (bet Meat had a few choice words too!). Caryl kept us all informed via the thread at the time which Meat started asking for help. Looks like people are quoting to suit........if I had the time and energy I'd go back and copy all her efforts along with others at promoting and getting both single and album both heard and wrote about.
Seems to me that the natural progression was for them to appoach the person who had been fighting Meat's corner.
The point is that our opinion is being sought or maybe we didn't want this?

Having been a fan since the late 70's bringing my kids up on his music I am so happy that fan's opinions are being sought by whatever avenue after all whatever site or country our common bond is Meat Loaf. Isn't it?

Just a note to say that the ROL site is unavailable for the moment, including the Questionnaire page. In working on our security settings e have unfortunately locked everyone, including ourselves out!! Until our server can let us in I'm afraid we're stymied .. but we'll get everything up and running as soon as we can, so those wishing to complete the Questionnaire please chack back tomorrow and if necessary Monday.

Yeah... come on... let's be honest: everybody was all over the record company about stuff... too little promo, release date's that went wrong... not enough copy's pressed... Hell.. I'm in the Netherlands and could'nt get my album until days later.
If someone was to quote me on some of my remarks, It would look like I HATE the record company.
It's SO easy...

But if the Blog person quoted from this forum, he/she is reading this and unless he/she is a coward, he/she will respond.

And hey... don't let this tear you down.
I'm 42, and SO arrogant. Nothing can tear me down. I only listen to the people that are important to me. F*ck the rest , he he...

I Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself <-- sorry just couldn't resist!!

Seriously .... thank you so much for your kind words and all your support. You know I feel exactly the same way you do, about you, Caryl and I being like a family. Of course I'm honored that they asked ROL to spearhead the project ... not only for the fans, but because I support Meat and the CD 1000% and would do anything I could to help.

But on a more personal note, I just want to thank Caryl for all her hard work and dedication :) I'm so thrilled for her right now ! If you need to get the job done, she's the one can do it !! I'm just happy to have the opportunity to work with her :)

So hopefully we can put this petty jealousy behind us and get back to what's important ... supporting Meat and letting our voices be heard :)

Thanks Caryl ... and thank you Fireball !!!!!
