Loafdom sounds better, and I think Meat mentioned it in the whole VH1 interview thing that ended up on the Bat 2 picture show

He absolutely did. The expression of what he achieves on stage. Perfect title for live Bat II stuff I say

I'd love a concert dvd from the Bat 2 tour. I thought the Hard Rock Live concert from 1999 was also really great. I'd love to see the entire show.

Back in late '06/early '07 Meat mentioned several times about a Bat Out Of Hell boxet, containing demos and new songs that were to be released "in 3 or 4 years time". Well of course we are now at that timeframe and there's been no mention since.

Meat also once mentioned that LATW was going to be four CDs.

I believe I heard that the labels wouldn't work that out.

Yeah he did, that was on the old fan site, I think it was going to be for the 30th Anniversary, but then he posted, I think in late 07 that it wasn't going ahead. I think it was around the time the 3 Bats Live DVD came out. I remember being disappointed it didn't work out. But never give up hope, maybe for the 40th Anniversary.

On the subject of a Bat II release (which should have really happened by now) How about an original Bat out of Hell: The Ultimate Package (a title that Jim may titter over) with a box cover along the lines of the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers...but with faded levis?

Again, this should have happened already but for all the legal fandangery...

You got to wonder though with the demise of cds and physical albums selling well if a boxset is truly on the cards. I hope so. Death to MP3 and other compressed digital formats I say if that is what is needed to make it happen.

I have always found box sets to be prohibitively expensive, but I've always liked the idea of them as an aesthetic object.

Another solution to the CD/mp3 dichotomy is a trend I've recently noticed with movies: that's USB sticks which have custom casings and are clearly big enough for an artists entire back catalogue and then some! Sort of a hybrid physical object/download.
