Default Thoughts on a Future Release.

Okay, a Bat II DVD release.

The videos, the live stuff, the interviews, theTV clips - everything. In store siginings. A retrospective maybe?

KISS released several sets: 3 DVD box sets totally crammed with absolutley everything, and lots of unseen stuff from specific eras. Definitive, really. I know a lot of people'll say "Bat I!" "WTTNH!!!" But there isn't much out there from the Bat II era... which is a shame, because it was an amazing time, and I know I'd buy it!

What do you guys think? What would you want to see on there if this mythical set was ever put together?

Video from The Hudson Theater show and the whole of The History Of Meat Loaf Live
All the audio from the live rehearsals and the other shows that songs for LATW were taken.

That's for starters.

Was the MTV show actually the Hudson show or are you talking about the 1995?
The MTV show was awesome, but I only remember seeing 5 songs as they were so long and MTV cut to commercial after each one.

Are they the same live clips from the Bat II picture show video? I'd love to see all the stuff from that on there, too.

The Hudson Theater show is the one where a lot of the songs for LATW came from and Jim made an appearance. Apparently it was filmed. The other one was at VH1 Center Stage in Orlando Florida. I'm not talking about the '95 one as that was the Beacon Theater, Live In The Neighbourhood show.

Yes. Most of the concert was shown on MTV as The History Of Meat Loaf Live parts 1 and 2. The performances were edited somewhat though.

Yeah sorry that is what I meant with MTV. The Bat II Picture show. No idea if it was in Hudson or not. It was in New York though I think. I remember seeing a tiny short bit during the interviews of Bat out of Hell of that show which was not aired. Looked amazing. Must have been a proper 2 1/2 hour show. You got very little in those days, whereas now they just shove everything on the DVDs.

You know I actually still remember buying the Bat II Picture Show video and watching it for the first time... I must've been 15! And it totally blew me away.

A live anthology would be great at some point. Meat DVD releases seem to have been slow to arrive - I remember when I finally got a DVD player (about 3 or 4 years after most other people I knew) scouting the shelves. That was when there was only Hits Out Of Hell. After that came Melbourne, which was a huge relief. At least there's been 3 Bats and The Original Tour since then. Hopefully if they've been big sellers we may get more?

something from 1988. ANYTHING.
a full in the neighborhood.
lemon and amnesty were edited badly. and matlf, revved, DRFL, original sin, left in the dark, paradise (no doubt he did it), AFL, & 2outta3 were cut.

History too. audio of roll over beethoven was realeassd on an objects single. frying pan was performed no doubt.
most of all I want the full meat loaf live 1982 thing. It cut paradise, readem & weep, and gimme shelter (ugly edit after promised land. his vest changed).
also unedited BALIVE and Meltdown please.

Sounds great, I'd definitely buy it if they released a DVD of any unreleased stuff from previous concert tours like the WTTN or Bat 2. There is a gap between the Bad Attitude and CHSIB tours which it would be great to have.

there actually is a kind of DVD release of Bat2. The Collectors Edition released in 06 contains the album, a BOOH live CD (taken from the live clips of the single releases) and a dvd with an interview and the Michael Bay videos.

Live In The Neighbourhood wasn't actually part of the tour. It was a promo concert that took place a few months earlier so maybe those other songs weren't done on that night?

When are we going to get a complete Meat Loaf anthology? All the tracks, all the videos, all the demos, everything! I would do anything for that!

A question that's been asked here many times, trouble is too many different companies own rights to the stuff and they can't seem to agree on anything, nearly happened in 96 or 97 with all the vids but it fell apart.

Even if they can't agree to do it together I don't understand why they haven't released them individually. Record companies are in the business of making money. Meat Loaf makes them money, whether it's trendy to admit it or not.

all concerned seem to agree on disagreeing...i would love to see it happen but can't unless a new Meat album sells into the 10's of millions, and it smacks the execs in the face, then maybe someone will see common sense and put it all together.

Well we got the Rockpalast show on dvd last year from out of the blue, so all we can do is hope that one day they see fit to release some of the other content onto DVD. For now, there's a new album out in a week, so really we have no room to complain

Oh wow, I wasn't aware of that, that's such a shame. It would be great if they could all come to some agreement and released it one day. I have so many bits and pieces here there and everywhere. It would be nice to have everything all together. I think Bon Jovi or someone like that released a CD of all their singles and a DVD of all the video clips. It would be great if Meat could do something similar.
