And is there any specific reason or story behind why?

For Crying out loud indeed contain some of the best lyrics I think too. AFL in its infancy was great but a bit cheesy sounding now I guess. Love Did I Say That, Blind as a Bat and Alive. Most of Steinman's lyrics are great. Worst have to be Do it, Dick in the pants and stabbing people in the face instead of their back.

I loved Did I Say That when it came out along with Love You Out Loud.. Now that I think on it that's probably because I was a teenager with a crush back then lol (cheese!)

Everything in Objects! I went stone cold last night when it was performed.

Same goes for For Cryin' Out Loud.

Open up the sky and let the planet that I love shine through - from For Crying Out Loud. Beautiful, sang with incredible passion. Greatest lyric ever.

Wonder down the ancient hallway,
taking the steps only one at a time,
follow the sound of my heartbeat now,
I'm in the room at the top
you're at the end of the line,,,,

Current favourite:
And I wish that I could give you something in return
For the precious time you wasted on the tears I've never earned
For reaching out to help me 'cross the bridges that I burned

Some other faves

"For all the hours we'll be spending alone.. For the dreams we'll ignore and all those promises we promised to keep, they won't be kept anymore. For the magic that our bodies had made.. For the blood that we lost and all the secrets that we somehow betrayed for whatever the cost. For the memories still alive in the bed.. For the lies we believed and all the things that can never be said, why don't you look at me and read 'em and weep"

"Bless all the homecoming queens of the night, they're looking for magic in gymnasium lights"

"Somewhere two hearts are pounding and they don't care what's correct. Somewhere somebody's falling in love without a background check"

"Then you can call her a slut and you can call her a slave, just remember to call her miss"

"If this is the last time I'm ever, ever gonna hold you, let me hold you tight til the morning light"

The 'bless all the girls' section is awesome - IKYIYDCB is a hugely underated song.

Unfortunately I always forget how amazing it is until I listen to it. Then it's on repeat for 3 days.

I disagree, slightly.
The WHOLE of FCOL especially after seeing how deeply it affects Meat. The sight of tears streaming down his face while he sang it in Sheffield is one I will never forget.

As Meat said "Every artist has their masterpiece and this is Jim Steinman's"

Bless all the homecoming queens of the night
They're looking for magic in gymnasium lights
And bless all the girls who knew what love was about
They try not to cry and than they try to put out.

The last line is just so brilliant it makes my brain hurt.

Isn't it "Make it Good and make it right"?

I never realized the handjob reference before though. Thanks.

Post-concert beer and whisky

Didn't we have a thread on this already, over in the Tyre Tracks forum?

It's never been this hot and I've never been so bored and breathing is just no fun anymore, then I saw you like a summer dream and you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said

Not at all - it's nice to be made to have a re-think!
