How's that for a shitting contest?

Not bad Melon I'd rather the National Rugby League Anyway, let's just see what Meat does and says from here

They also have not addressed the $600,000.... the least they could have done would have been to clarify that!!!

If Meat decides to let the issue go....then I support it. If Meat still wants us to post his apology on whatever social media we have....then I support it. I'm just going to be on standby until Meat's further notice.

I love him to bits, and support him all I can, but honestly? I hope this gets parked. I don't want to do anything to get it all started again. If anything needs to be done it needs imo to be managed from home, very carefully and professionally. That's my take.

I had no idea that AFL had made any comment again. I'm just enjoying the rave reviews from fans who have attended the concerts, and look forward to seeing those from fans who will attend the concluding one.

If the cyber-bullies get stirred up into action again, will all Meat's fans be able to keep off the keyboard? I'd like to think so, but for some it doesn't seem that easy to manage, and like you I just don't want to see Meat being harassed yet again by a relatively small group of ignorant bullies, who I think are as much out to get their kicks through getting a rise out of those who follow, love and respect him as they are trying to get at him.

If Meat asks me to post a simple statement from him of course I will. But I will ignore any responses that aren't supportive, any designed to hook me into a defensive retort, and I won't go looking for them. I still don't think this whole brou haha is something that people are generally aware of outside Australia and Meat's more committed on-line fanbase.

So whilst I do understand that establishing the truth is important to a man of honour, I believe that internationally Meat's honour is as high as it ever was, and that the honourable around the world who have witnessed this will deplore the abusive mitherings of the small group with no honour at all who have been responsible.

Caryl
I couldn't agree more Caryl. The more we respond to irritating comments the more worked up we get and at the end of the day it really doesn't help you or anyone at all. Instead, follow the rave reviews about Meat's concerts, they are the sorts of things to pick you up and help you forget about the fiasco at the AFL.

As for the trolls, well we all like to bite, but from experience, DON'T!!!!! Sit on your hands or get away from the computer or phone. When we feed them they get more repulsive and look not only to hurt Meat bad but to also take a personal assault on yourself And believe me you don't want that!! So let the little blighters play, and once they realize that no one wants to play then they'll run off and play with someone else.

Same here Suzie.
I truly sympathize with Meat. And I can only imagine how upset he is, especially since, unfortunately, he cannot go home as early as he originally expected

IMHO it's not my place to try to give him any advice on this matter .... that's for his management, personal assistant, and perhaps Deborah to do. I'm just here to support him in any way I can, whether it means posting his statement or not, whatever he decides.

Having said that, part of me hopes that he really takes the time to think it through before he possibly says or does something that he'll regret later on.

I agree with you there Vicki! I think some time at home where he can kick back and relax and think things through is the best thing that can come of this

You're absolutely right Caryl, and I prefer your idea instead that we get out a positive message all around the internet about how great he, how great the new album is etc. Maybe around the time of the albums Feb. release?

i'm inclined to agree 100%

perhaps the apology could be stickied or put on the front page here or .net?? that way the message is out there in the public domain, without the risk of whipping up a social media frenzy attack. i dunno

I see where you're coming from, and that would have its benefits as you say .. and Meat said wait until the end of the week. By which time he'll be home anyway and be able to consult his team

I can understand Meat wanting to set the record straight. I don't think he wants to be remembered for saying those things the way that video was edited. They cut it and edited it to make him look like he was saying things he was not. The video was misinterpreted and misconstrued.

Yeah I can see why it may be best to focus on the positive stuff going on, and just let this lay to rest.

But I think Meat needs to set the record straight first, endure a few days of shitstorm, and then let it lay to rest on his terms, the story told straight, the truth out, and then focus majorly on all the wonderful things happening in his career right now.

I'm going to support whatever Meat decides, because he knows best.

Which I think would be a very wise decision.

Meat, we all love ya, we're all here to support you. Concentrate on rocking the ~~~~ing socks off everyone in Tauranga tonight. We know you will, and you will feel better when you get home and realise none of this has followed you.

Australia is just another part of the map.

I agree with you. I think Meat needs to go out there, give the best show he can give today and then think again about this when he gets home. The last thing I want to see happen is for him to do this and all those people who were criticising him come back to have another go at him. There's only so much of that a person can take and he's already had to deal with so much already.

Saying that though I will respect whatever Meat decides to do and will give him my support.

As I have just been away for a family holiday with no internet I was VERY surprised to find upon my return everyone still talking about the AFL thing.
I know I am adding my two little pennies to the debate ( and they will be my final coins) but it REALLY should be left.
ALL AFL threads should be closed!!
And if someone has the balls then ban Meat from talking about it on this site anymore.
And if he does carry on his penalty is to give us a MLUKFC fans only gig!!!!!
