Default No there is not a remaster of the MSO DVD!

In the infamous thread that now seems to have disappeared a certain Mr AndrewG pontificated that the MSO DVD was the most likely of Meat's releases to get remastered and rereleased. It's a bit of a delayed reaction, but I've just thought: what would be the point of that?

As far as I'm aware there is no new material originally cut from the show(s) so aside from the mixing error of the crowd noise between Frying Pan and FCOL, what is there to gain from a remaster of this show? Am I overlooking something or just thinking too hard about a throwaway comment?

I think you are taking my comment out of context. I said it was MORE likely that we would see an MSO Live re-release than anything live from the 80s or 90s. And I was actually more hinting at a possible re-release of the CD. This is simply because Meat is performing the whole of Bat out of Hell on that cd whereas not many people outside of the hardcore fanbase will be concerned about the non Bat albums. Simple fact.

I never said it should be remastered but I do think the DVD picture quality is terrible and at a very low bitrate, which is very obvious when things are moving around fast.

I do not notice those small audio mixing errors as much as others. Same as all this criticism about BFG on 3 bats. It's live so things are never going to be perfect.

In addition it seems to me that Meat Loaf himself is much more concerned with what he is doing now/recently that I'm not so sure the vaults containing pre 2000 live recordings will ever be opened again.

I'd actually forgotten about that and it's a good point. It is poor.

They just cut from a louder crowd noise to a quieter one. It's the sort of thing where you don't spot it until it's pointed out, and then you'll always notice it after that!

I suspect they will, but after Meat has retired.

I think they are missing a big market by not releasing anything from the Bat 2 tour. Wasn't that Meat's best selling tour? I'm sure a Bat 2 dvd would sell well.

I want this remastered for Blu-Ray, may see a release on this format in HD picture and audio.
