Anyway, just reading The Burning Wire by Jeffrey Deaver. Very good as always, but just a little bit samey. Still, can't wait to see what he does with Bond!
I'd heard he was having a crack at Bond... Will be an interesting read!

I often go on public transport wearing a bowler hat and reading a copy of 'the independant' in the hope I bump into old school freinds and family, and make out im a big earning big shot, who smokes cigars and drinks fine wines.

When in reality i drive a van, drink newcastle brown ale and read the daily star!!

But we can dream Wario!!!

OHHH did anyone ready David Peace's red ridings quartet? 1974, 1977, 1980 and 1983???

I thought they were great, the TV adaptation only showed the books in a 3 part series, and I dont think the TV show was any good compared to the books (just like many film adaptations).

Read Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz in 6 hrs non stop on the plane home. Absolutely brilliant, a real page turner ! Have never read a Dean Koontz book that wasn't at least good, this one was exceptional !

Thumbs up

I'm still reading Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. I'm about halfway through and I am truly finding it more fun than the other book Brown wrote. Sorry, dementia's got me at the moment and I can't think the name ... lol ...

DAVINCI CODE ! I thought of it as I clicked off.

Im now onto Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...only got a few pages in.

For all you wrestling fans who have not read it yet, id reccommend Bret Harts book, infact, even if you dont like Wrestling, read it, Such a great book.

I have FALILV tucked away for a read. I saw the film. It was wildly weird and Johnny Depp as I've never seen him before, but I liked it for what it was ... lol ... And thanks for the head's up on the BH book. I want to read Mick Foley's autobio and I think Rick Flair recently wrote something as well. Did you hear anything about that ? Thanks again ! ... ...

Mick Foley has 3 books (I think) ab out his 'wrestling life' Have a nice day, foley is good and the hardcore diaries, they are all great. Have a nice day is about 500 pages (as is BH book) but its a great read.

Ric Flair has at least one book out, he slates Mick Foley in it, they really do hate each other. Ive not read it, but I keep saying Im going to.

Ive never seen the film, I must watch it. Johnny Depp is also playing Paul Kemp, in the fiml adaptation of The Rum Diary, another Hunter book. Wich is a great read, very 'hemmingway' the way it was wrote!

Hope your enjoying Angels and Demons :)

Is it a keeper, or do you use a chapter's worth of paper for each crap?

It's a great read so far If I wanted to read a book to then use it for shit paper, I'd probably start reading the Bible.

You really think so? I thought it was very poor, clearly written for the film franchise, much like the later Hannibal Lechter books from Thomas Harris. I'd worked out the ending about a third of the way through the book, unlike Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code which both kept me more gripped. I think Mr Brown's day is done, he should retire Langdon and go back to writing below mediocre thrillers liek the other two he's written the titles of which I can't remember.

I'm still reading Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. Once again, I'm only reading while on the bus to and fro the day job. Perhaps it's time to turn off the computer and tv for an evening of reading.
