I'd rather we not discuss that one anymore. Haven't I been embarrassed enough by that? We covered this in another thread here.

Anywho...for those who have a problem with me being in charge, I was told that as long as I volunteered the idea, I was volunteering my status as project manager. No one stepped forward to oppose it. If someone thinks they can do a better job, be my guest.

I honestly can't speak for others...but I will speak for myself...I had project managers, I was project manager, I was and still am a head of the department...and I work all day...so when I come here...I want to have fun and to be entertained...as was suggested before I am not sure at this point we need project manager or any manager at all...I most certainly don't...not here anyway...but that's just me...so I am just gonna pass on this...not that anybody would lose on this if I am out

I agree Zina, we wouldnt necessarily need a "manager"; or at least one who is a bit more fun....

just record tunes, have fun, share...regroup, discuss please please don't get disheartened by status of project manager...I for one really want to hear people's contributions! and we don't need a project manager at the point of people doing tunes, just agreement...which we have

*goes off to think of something witty ending in 'ic' to call pud...*

My point is, it's OK to talk a good show but if you can't put on a show at all, let alone if it's good or not, then it's just talk.

I have serious doubts you have the ability and capability to pull this off unless you start giving a bit more details on how you're going to achieve it. Not some vague comments which leave people asking more questions, but specifics. You're still a teenager aren't you?.

I agree with Helen that people should just record the tunes (no deadlines) and have fun.

CHSIB = Couldn't Have Sung It Better

I think raising $6 million for a tribute cd would be quite good too. LMAO.

Teenager???? Eh????

I like the name, Helen and pud...I think it's great...

The truth is...how many people here have truly good voices? I counted 5 that I know and that was some stretching...I can't compare my bleating to Sean or Mike...and still...I wanted to do something...just as a tribute...not that I would make it intentionally funny but it probably would be laughable...and yet...most of us would present this "laughable" version...as long as we don't laugh at each other but understand that this is tribute to the artist we all admire for years...with my voice and musical abilities...ummm...project manager will probably commit suicide...and still...I would like to try...

Helen..."pedantic"???

you're all barmy and I love you! xx

COULD have sung it better? in my case definately lol!

Zina...no need to be laughable nor for people to be laughably bad (if you are I won't listen!! ) but someone just vaguely off key but trying is bearable and it's the enthusiasm and thought that counts. and as i keep saying...it's for fun no harm in that

Hmm or mabey These titles are more fitting:
  • MLUKFC Tribute CD ... or how I learned to suck it up and butcher the damn song
  • You knocked the Teeth right out of my mouth (Must've been while you were beating me) : A Tribute To Meat
  • Where We Come From bootlgers get banned and Barry Manilow can't cover a Meat Loaf song for Arnold Shwartzeneger's golden Thong: A MLUKFC Tribute

If it was strictly Steinman tribute I would do...Total Eclipse of the Mind...or Making Album out of Nothing At All...

Otherwise...

Midnight and We've Lost Our Minds...

Yes, I'm still a teenager, but others have done more at my age (look at, say, that girl who was a Broadway producer at the age of 19). And who's to say I won't be able to put on a show in the future? Don't knock it before I make a serious effort. Sure, yank me back by the leash if I don't stop yapping about it, but once I have stopped, don't tighten the leash!

As for independent financing for the CDs, I do have the ability and capability to pull it off. What details do you want?
