It is the story of Meat's life.
I personally don't know where you can buy it, but if you have VH1 in Canada, it's always on there. |

I got my copy from Amazon.com, you could try there, or tape it from the tv like heat suggested.
It tells the story of meat's life, but it has it's faults, and also it's nice moments. Asha |

Hi RSG - I'm a big fan of this movie - probably because of the music, and the guy who plays Meat Loaf does actually look like him. I'd say definitly tape or buy, it skirts around the actual story of Meat Loafs life, but the inclusions, go somewayto make up for the exclusions.

Actually RSG if you really want an understanding of Meat's life then read his autobiography "To Hell And Back" because it's much more truthful then the VH1 film. The inacurate parts of the film really bother me but it's interesting at the beginning when he meets Steinman because they sit in a set that's a recreation of Jimmy's old apartment and the guy playing Jim sits at the piano and pretends to play this really great introduction to "Bat Out Of Hell".
Haven't seen you on the Steinman site in awhile now RSG. |

![]() ![]() Fair enough, the fans know the facts from the fiction, but after it was shown on VH1's recent Meat Loaf day, Carol has been defending Meat at work against people calling Meat a right b......d for the way he acts and the way he treated his wife ![]() As a fan,it annoys me because of the silly things that could have been done right without any dificulty. For instance,it's a well know story that when Meat auditioned for Jim,he sang Heavy As Jesus.Jimmy said he thought he was as heavy as two Jesus's.Why did they change the song in the film? ![]() I don't think the actor did a particulary good job of playing Meat.I was cringing whenever he used his own voice. It's worth a watch for entertainment value, but don't put too much beliefe in anything that happens in it. If you want to know about Meat read the book. |

I thought as well as showing what Meat has described himself as a trait of wanting to run away from bad stuff, it showed his indomitable ability to get back on his feet and fight his way back. And I thought Earl did a good job portraying him. Best thing RSG? .. watch it and make your own mind up :) I remember at the time of its original showing the OIFC board was full of messages from people who'd found it inspiring. Just don't expect it to be Meat. It's an actor following a script ![]() |
