Default MICHIGAN STATE POLICE WARNING

State police warning for online: Please read this "very
carefully"..then send it out to all the people online that you know.
Something like this is nothing to be taken casually; this is something
you DO want to pay attention to.

If a person with the screen-name of Rockhard abs or goes by his name
Jason Stallings contacts you, do not reply. DO NOT talk to this person;
do not answer any of his instant messages or e-mail. Whoever this person
may be, he is a suspect for murder in the death of 3 women (so far)
contacted through the Internet. He is a suspect in a shooting and is
known for raping and beating young women. He is located in the
MID-MICHIGAN area. Please send this to all the women on your buddy list on any site
and ask them to pass this on, as well. This screen-name was seen on
Yahoo and AOL so far. This is not a joke! Please send this to men
too...just in case! Send to everyone you know! Ladies, this is serious.

IF WE CAN PASS ON JOKES, SURELY WE CAN PASS ON A WARNING THAT MAY SAVE
A FRIENDS LIFE .

Thank You

It's a hoax. A quick google on that name and screen-name will tell you that. For example:

There is a lot of it goes around.

The real one so far is the one where they tell you you have won a prize in some foreign lottery and you have to send them a check for a certain amount to clear the costs of the prize.

I have received e-mail like that and promptly deleted it.

BUT...

The other day I have received actual slow mail letter from England (I am in the States whoever doesn't know) with actual check inside telling me to send some amount of money to a certain address to clear the costs of sending me this check for over $3000.-...

Should I have sent them money and deposited that check, I think you all know what would have happened with it...yep, it would have bounced like a rubber ball...

So...predators are NOT just on the Net...they are in our slow mail too...

I was once asked to bank the illicit money stash of a widow of an African general who was murderd in a millitary coup so she could come to England and retrieve it.

Think my end on the deal was something like £2 million

On second thoughts, what if it wasn't a hoax?

What if, there is in Africa somewhere, a generals widow is sitting at her PC screaming "will you hurry up and get back to me you git.For fecks sake, I KNEW I was gonna come a cropper intrusting my future to someone who calls himself The Flying Mouse "

I work in a bank and get 3-4 of these a week. All I do is pass them on to our fraud team. At first they were really convincing, giving true bank details and the names of government officials.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not respond to emails supposedly from your bank asking for details to update your records. I'm still amazed at how many fall for this.
