Hunted for hours in Solihull, West Midlands, on Monday. HMV said they'd order it for me. Finally got one in Virgin. Why the big problems with your distributors?

Meat i have sent you a private message. You can get the single OK in Belfast but only from Virgin and a few small companies like Sanity. The worrying thing is HMV aren't stocking it and they r the biggest company in belfast. Im afraid people will go to HMV and see its not there and then think its been delayed and be unaware its actually out but only in virgin!

 I PM'd Meat last week asking if he could get me a couple of thousand leaflets to hand around town to promote the new single. He never got back to me,but I guess it was a bit last minute  .
Anyway, the point is that Meat has an army of people here who would be more than happy to do anything to promote anything Meat is doing.
Meat,is there any way you can take advantage of this all these people willing to help?Leaflets etc.
Everyone, who would be prepared to help Meat's promo? It may be a little late for this single, but it's a thought for the future  .
In the whole of Oxford Street (London) on Monday, the only store that had copies was Virgin (they had loads). HMV and Music one didn't. I tried Woolies and WH Smith in Bexleyheath yesterday and they didn't have copies either.

Phoned a few places in N.Ireland
HMV are now stocking it - they got it in late yesterday afternoon
Golden Disks are now stocking it - got it late yesterday
Virgin have had it from Monday Morning
aslo a note, Sanity a small music store had it monday but are currently out of stock and are waiting on more being ordered...thats a good sign! Having said that they would have been the only people in Bangor since monday stocking it!

would it be too late Meat to release another CD with a couple of other songs (LIke the 2 cds for Did i say that) If you get another new song on the CD maybe all the people who bought it already will buy it again for the extras songs. How come only one CD was rleleased when normally 2 versions are available with different extra tracks!?

Hi, Meat. Will it do any good for those of us overseas to order more copies from a particular source??? I'd do anything to help, but I'm so far away from there and having never visited the UK before, I have no idea who to contact. I've already ordered one CD from Amazon UK, but haven't received a notice that it's been shipped. I am assuming, therefore, that they don't have it, either, yet.
If ANYONE there can PM me (or respond here) as to where I can quickly purchase copies via the phone or the net, in order to help, PLEASE let me know. I'll be checking MLUKFC frequently today!
Thanks!

I can tell you... in Spain the radio station began to put CHSIB single and talks great about it... in a radio station M80, Julian Ruiz put several days ago Did I Say That?.... and he put CHSIB or Did allmost everyday.

For Brevard who wanted to buy on-line, HMV on-line do have copies and notified me yesterday that an order had been dispatched
HMV in Meadwhall expect it to be a BIG seller! .. but of course :)
Go to HMV in UK
http://www.hmv.co.uk/
Search Meat Loaf, top of page 2 .. You can do it!! :)
No problem mate, i'll do that for you. And i'll tell my friends to do the same.

Hi again! Just phoned the Virgin Store in Oxford Street, since it was mentioned they had copies of CHSIB. But I was told they don't ship overseas...Their website, according to the person I spoke with, does not ship overseas, either...
Amazon UK says they haven't gotten the single from the publisher yet...
I've been checking the major UK record shops listed online, but haven't found the single listed anywhere so far...
I want to help, if I can. Anybody have any suggestions???
I'll be here... :(

 Hi Meat.
Just a thought.
As there are a lot of shops that don't have the single in stock yet, would it be a better idea to have a big push next week when more of the regular public will be buying them?
If we all buy at the same time it will mean a lot better position in the charts  .
If you still want it done now though,no problem at all.
Let me know what you think. If you can't get back to me in time,i'll stick with the plan and get them tomorrow.
Rock on 8) .

Uh oh! Caryl, I just got an email from HMV indicating that "Goods have yet to be received from suppliers." Maybe they've run out of stock or something since you were told they'd already sent yours???
I think I may be back to Square One on this. Looking for more suggestions from any of you who have better access and knowledge of stores or UK websites who will ship product overseas.
I will continue to hold onto my HMV order, just in case the email was incorrect...
It's 8 hours earlier here in California. I'll be here--except for the time that Meat's on Johnnie Walker's show. More suggestions or ideas will be appreciated!!!
I'll keep checking back....

16 Apr 2003, 17:57
I have been checking Amazone and it says the single won't be available until the 21th! Anyone seen something else?
Couldn't find the single at Bol.com either!
What is going on? :??:
Mariella
Now searching ALL evening..
I just had a notification that my order for 10 was accepted .. and I think the fact you've ordered them will count as sales from Meat's point of view. If there's a delay and you're desp to get the record in your hot little hand, you can have one of the ones I've bought from the Sheffield real store when I collect them .. probably this weekend .. and I'm sure yours will be sent out by HMV on-line by then .. but keep me posted OK?

my advice would if you can buy from high street where possible. I dont know about rest of UK but HMV in belfast now has the song. They said it came in as a late delivery on tuesday.
Just a thought, but perhaps people who havent been able to find the single in the shop have took an attitude of it costs 4 pounds, is a lot of hassle to buy so i'll just wait till next week and by the album which is only about a fiver dearer!!??? I think some people who aren't dye-hard fans may be thinking like this. Maybe Meat should delay the album another week to push single sales as they are too close together
ChrisBelfast
16 Apr 2003, 18:01
dont know about everyone else meat but i only want a copy signed, you don't have to buy them back. This is the least we can do for you to show r appreciation for your music. We owe you far more than a few single sales anyway!!!!!!!

one final note, sorry shoulda just done the one post but......
Its always in the paper how apparently the record company got all these pop idol stars to number one by buying the records themselves. Surely if anough fans by records and mercury buy some back so to speak then the single will do well in the charts. I don't think anyone else will buy it after this week because the album will be out and theyll buy it instead. Perhaps all this hassle of getting a single will be rewarded as people will have to buy the album as they cant find the single anywhere??!!
Still haven't got mine yet - crawled around the shops again today :(

Hey Uk citizens,
go for it!
We managed chart #8 (CHSIB album) and #18 (DIST single) here in Germany. Not bad at all! CHSIB single just been released. Of course some of us here bought multiple copies of each in the first week. They make wonderfull presents (but not for those who would buy them anyhow!).
But now it is your turn in the UK! I know you can even do better! Conquer all the problems! It is the first week that counts!
GO UK, GO!

16 Apr 2003, 18:48
No, it's not a matter of money. I intend to send these copies out to people and tell them "See how great this is!!!!...Now go out and buy the album!!!"
Caryl, I hope you're right and the HMV sales will help!! Thanks, again.
Yes surely we would want Meat at the very top but I cann't even buy it yet
in any of the shops down here - may be the distributors need a kick up the back side
So we all go out and buy dozens of CDs ... How are yoou arranging these Meet n Greets, Meat?

I'm SO sorry for all these problems you're having with the single. You SO don't need this! I got a copy today ordered via the HMV website late last week. But, of course, if I can find more copies in stores I'll buy those as well. I'm sure evryone here will also. We ALL want sucess for you!!
Whoever is responsible for this needs to be hung up by their short and curlies (if they have them...) and forced to listen to S Club for 7 days straight, until they are begging to buy all the singles of CHSIB needed to get you to no1, just to hear decent music.
On a (not too) related note, its a sad reflection on British music when a rock legend is fighting for a chart position, and tripe like Westlife go straight in at no1 with any old pap!! Sorry, I can feel a rant coming on again...
Hope everything works out.

Had ordered it through Amazon UK no luck yet though.

Thanks Original Sin, this is what we need: phonenumbers! Everybody, please give me more (or I will find them myself tomorrow).
If we can all have 10 people call recordstores, asking them what's keeping this single, finally they will order it, just to get all of us of their back!
So, call, send emails, for this I am 'moving' to the UK for a few days!

I'll be helping you swamp those phone lines with complaints.... I know we gotta ensure sales are boosted but someone somewhere has gotta be answerable for this. I mean how long have music stores been making out of Meat Loaf and his fans.
I did find a small independant who was stocking it and brought one...I'm gonna hit the town tomorrow see what I can find. And I'm happy to do so. Ok so who would turn down a signed copy or a M&G not me for sure but this is so much more than that now. Besides if we all turn up with our copies it won't be M&G's he needs it'll be a private party room. lol

People, we CAN make a difference, all we have to do is follow our beliefs.
We have known for weeks just HOW great this single is.

Folks in the UK, keep calling, keep asking, every little bit will help.

Just a thought. This is causing me sleep deprivation  Can we please also try our local radio stations. Get them to play CHSIB as much as possible, and if possible mention the sales problem and encourage anyone who's interested to go out there and shout. This is my next plan of action. Looks like I've got a long day ahead of me.

Hi, guys! I've been thinking and thinking about this problem all day, since Meat's earlier posts.
I sent him a PM, but he hasn't had the chance to get it yet. So, I have unanswered questions.
If you read my post earlier today, I ordered extra singles from HMV UK online. They accepted my order, but when I clicked on the button to check on it, I was given the information that they had not gotten the product from the supplier yet.
I have a very strong feeling, since Meat was as adamant as he was today about getting the singles bought up, that both Presales and Orders that cannot be filled due to lack of product will NOT be counted! And that makes sense, if we think about it. On these orders, no money has yet changed hands even though credit card info has been taken. And since that's the case, there has been no actual sale. Does that make sense?
So, continuing to buy from these sellers who WILL have them soon--probably the 21st, since that's what we're hearing most--will NOT help Meat right now. Next week, they'll help him tremendously. I would imagine that because of all these extra sales, plus being rated #8 on Amazon's presale list, is going to send the numbers through the roof next week!!! But that's not what he needs right now in order to "enter in the Top Ten," which is what he wants to do so desperately (and most likely needs to do, with still no contract signed over here in the States--that's just a guess, but it makes sense).
Calling the big chains and companies who SHOULD be carrying it, to see if they are, IS important--not to pester them to get it ordered, really (we can do that NEXT week if they STILL don't have it  ) but we need to know if ANY of the stores in their chain MIGHT have it now or if their online websites might also have it available.
What we need to do for Meat, from the way I am understanding it, is to buy up EVERY AVAILABLE CHSIB SINGLE IN THE COUNTRY and do it RIGHT NOW! And we have precious little time to do it in.
Does anyone out there know exactly what the cut-off is for a week's numbers? Is it Friday at 5 pm or 11:59 p.m.? Is it Saturday or Sunday?? We need to know what the timeframe is that we have to work with. There's SO much I don't know about how all this works, but want to...! And this is all complicated by the fact that it's Good Friday and some shops may close early...And some of the people who could normally help us here may not be available.
So we need to get organized. We need a plan to be able to work as a team. Working individually will help, certainly, but it won't get the major job done that is needed to truly help Meat. It's a large task we're taking on.
I've worked up a basic plan that I'd like to propose, and I'd like to get everyone's opinions on it. It's the middle of the night in the UK; only 9 p.m. here in California. We should try to get this all worked out, if we can, before the shops open in the morning. It is my great sadness never to have visited the UK, so could someone tell me when, typically, stores do open there? Is it 8 or 9 or 10?? And also, how late are shops usually open during the day? In other words, how much time do we have to work here? Perhaps it varies too much to say, but please give us all an idea--those of us who are outside the country.
Let me lay out my plan, so you can see what you think of it:
Based on what I've been reading from your posts, the smaller shops, in smaller areas are more likely to be carrying the CD single. Most of the bigger sellers just don't seem to have it. And some of those who do, won't ship outside the country, leaving those of us out here unable to help.
What we need is for everyone in the UK, who has the ability--and the time--to mark off as wide an area as possible, and call EVERY seller within that area to see if they have the CD. If they find someone who does, and they can purchase it, great! They should do it. If they find someone who does and they cannot go out and get it, for whatever reason, they should bring the information here to a new thread on the forum, so that either someone else in the UK can go and get it--or order it by phone. Or those of us outside the country can call and order it, IF the shop will ship overseas. If they will not ship, then perhaps it would be possible for us to buy the singles and have the person making the phone calls pick them up and then ship them to us. Either way, money changes hands and CDs get sold!
I mentioned in an earlier post that I called the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street, since I had heard they did have copies for sale. But I was told they do not ship here--and that their website does not ship overseas, either. But if I had had someone there who would have been willing to pick them up and ship them to me, I would have happily bought what I could from this store.
You see. We'll have teamwork. Everyone plays an important part, and no one gets left out.
People phoning a certain area should send a message to the forum indicating what section of the country they are taking, so that we would not be overlapping--doing the same job more than once. If, yesterday, you already made calls in an area near you, post that, so, once again, we won't duplicate our efforts. (If any chain stores were involved in your calling and your found out that no store in that chain will have it, please post that quickly, so they can be avoided.)
Mariella (or anyone else who wants to do this job): If you are willing to make the phone calls to the larger chains, whose phone numbers were given here, and ask them if they are carrying it; if ANY of their stores are carrying it THIS WEEK, that would be a tremendous help. If they aren't carrying it, we can just cross them off the list for now. No need for anyone making phone calls around the country to call any of their stores. That will save some time. If they DO have it--somewhere in the chain--then, again, that will save some time. The stores in that chain should be called first. So, we need a clear posting of what each of these companies have to say, and everyone will know how to proceed.
And I guess that would work for those who are calling around the UK, as well. If YOU are dealing with a chain of stores, and find out they don't have it yet; ask if it is likely the other stores in that chain would not carry it, as well. Then come and post their answer here. So everyone will know to either avoid these stores or phone them quickly.
When you find shops that DO have them, and are unable to get them yourselves, come back here quickly and bring the following information:
Name of Shop
Address of Shop
Phone number
How many CDs available
Price of CDs
Whether they will ship outside UK
And if not, are you willing to pick them up and ship them to whoever does purchase them (if outside the country)
I know this is a huge task, friends. But Meat doesn't often ask for our help. We have to do the best we can. And I think, if you all like this plan and believe it's feasible, we can make it work. It will take close and constant communication, though, on everyone's part. So, you should post as often as you can with what you have found out in your area--especially if you DO find CDs in a certain place. Then, the rest of us out here, either in the UK or outside it, can work toward buying up what CDs we are able to.
That's my basic plan. I'm sure it can be improved upon. But I'd love your comments on it and if this is doable--if there are enough of us here to make it work. We really need enough people in the UK who are willing to make these calls--whether they can buy the CDs or not. We've got to find a way of locating all those that are available--and we must do it in the next day, day-and-a-half, or two, depending on when exactly the deadline is for making the Top Ten.
Meat, dear heart, if you're out there and reading this, please consider contacting Geri at the OIFC. I don't want to cause any problems or bad feelings between the various groups. I'm just thinking that the number of fans in the other group is large and they, too, could be set upon to help with this huge and difficult task. Geri now has the ability to send a quick email to everyone on her list that is connected to the net. And they can then join us in trying to help you. It cannot be a matter of 'groups' right now; we ALL must pull together, as your fans, if we're going to make this happen.
So, what do you think, guys? Is this plan workable? Can you improve upon it? Let's talk about it for the next several hours, but we do really need to have the plan, whatever it is, in place, before the shops begin to open in the UK.
Please write and share your thoughts. And if you want to be a part of this, then, say so and what you are able/willing to do to help!
I am a great believer in the power of people, especially those who are motivated. I believe that motivated people can accomplish anything they set their minds to. And of course, there is no greater example of that, than the person we all come here to be with every day!!!
Thanks, as always, for listening.
Love and peace to each of you!

I can't believe I'm posting again so quickly, friends. But I just received good news.
HMV UK must have gotten more CD singles in stock. Yay!!!
I got an email from them a few minutes ago saying that the 10 I ordered yesterday morning have been shipped!!
I think this is exciting news! Maybe some of the other sellers, like Amazon might begin to get their shipments in, too! Wouldn't that be terrific!!!!
Thanks again, Caryl, for sharing that info with all of us.
If you've been thinking about ordering extra singles from them for Meat, but were waiting until they got more in, now's the time!!

 Hi guys.
I've just rang 15 branches of HMV picked at randow throughout the UK.
I told them I was doing market research for Meat Loaf  .
I asked them if they had the new single.if they said no,Iasked when are you supposed to have it.If they said yes,I asked if they were playing it in store.
The results...
Liverpool city centre-No-Suposed to have it the 14th.
Speke Park-Yes-Will you be playing it?Yes,if you want us too.
St Helens-Yes-Play?-Yes
Chester-Yes-Play?-Yes.
Warrington-Yes-Play?-No.
Bolton-Yes-Play?-No
Manchester Trafford Park-Yes-Play?-No.
Preston-Yes-Play-Yes.
Manchester W1 centre-Yes-Play?No.
Blackpool-Yes-Play?-Yes
London Oxford St-No answer.
Birmingham-Yes-Play?-Don't know.
Sheffield high street-No-When-Suposed to be the 14th.
Cardiff-Yes-Play-Don't know.
Glasgow Union St-Yes-Play?-No.
As HMV is probibilly the biggest music retailer in the UK,try some branches yourself.Go to their website, and go to store finder in the left hand column.Type in a city and a list of branches comes up.Click on one and you'll get the phone number.
Do what I did, tell them you're doing market research(they pay more attention). If they have it ask if their playing it in store,as you see,in one case they were willing to start playing it if requested.More promo for Meat.
Right, gotta run to town for my copies  .

I have been calling and mailing all these numbers here.
Seems like HMV is the only big chain in the UK who has the single in their stores.
They wouldn't give me numbers on their stock for online-sales, but they did tell me a lot of Americans were buying lots of singles!!
Also said the moment they ship the cd, is the moment of sale. So, I would really like to know just how much time we have left!
Does anyone have the number for Universal?
I hope some of the smaller stores will also have the single, can anyone give me a few names, please? Will also try the yellow pages!
Be back soon, keep up the good work!

Hey, Mariella--Well, that's good news/bad news, isn't it. It great that at least one big chain has them available both online and in their stories. It's one place all the people here can go and help Meat out. Good news about American sales. We are doing our bit, even if we're a few thousand miles away. Hope someone will respond to your other questions. I did a lot of searching online yesterday, with little luck. But online sites--smaller ones--might be a lot slower to pick up the new releases. I don't know.
Dottie, did the shops you contact in your area tell you if they've gotten their daily deliveries yet or will that take place later in the day? If it's later, the single might still show up. I don't know how things work in your country. But here, businesses often get late truck deliveries of their products.
And Flying Mouse: What a great idea! Loved it!! But let me ask you--does it seem like more stores DO have the single today than we were seeing yesterday? The list you got had a LOT of 'yes' answers. That is the best news of all.
Here's hoping that the people coming to the forum today in those particular areas will head down to the stores to buy their extra copies to help Meat AND put in a request to have it played!! You're right! That's a great way to get the song heard, so more folks will buy it!!
I'm going to go check with Amazon and see if maybe they got theirs in! With Meat's Presales being #8 or so on their list, wouldn't it be wonderful to have all those shipped out by the end of the week?!! That would be a boost!!
I'll let y'all know what I find out!! Talk with ya later...

I'm off to work in a quarter hour (it's 7:30 AM here in the States), but I will be contacting record stores via email all day, as well as buying what I can from UK sources online. We have got to do this for Meat! I wonder, is there any way for us to find out the sales numbers at the end of the week?

Hi there,
Virgin: no online single stock.
MVC: no single
Woolworth: no single
MVC: no single
Really seems to me that HVM stores and online-buying is the best option.
And ofcourse local recordstores!!
Cannot find the number for Universal in London, called Holland, they gave me a wrong number.
I want to know just where they are selling this single!
Great day to you!

Just to report in from my town
First thing this morning, the single was in a couple of independents and unlike yesterday in Our Price. Not in HMV first thing but I did some other shopping and when I checked an hour later it had just come in and there was a whole row of them under the "New Releases" section. It appears to finally be getting there. Pleased to say no one in my town who wants to will have any trouble buying it today

Hi, Sherrie! You know, that's an interesting question. I'd like to know what it takes to get a single into the Top Ten--what kind of figures are we talking about?? There's SO much I don't know about all this, but want to...
Sherrie, let us know what you find out through your email search. Okay?
I just checked with Amazon UK and sadly, they still have the single as being released on April 21st!!
Hi, Puritan :) : Well, you've brought terrific news! The single IS getting out there today! I'm sure Meat's going to be pleased--or is it, relieved?!! I hope other folks are finding it to be the same in their towns!!!
What a mess for him! Whoever did this--whoever created such a nightmare--deserves to have his butt kicked when this week is over!!! Any takers???
Yes, Mariella amazon is still listing April 21 for the single. The good news is in the last hour the sales ranking went from 1247 to 565! The album is also listed as April 21 and it's sales ranking is 4! I checked HMV and it is still listing the single as will be shipped when stock is available.

Hi, Jules! I know I owe you a letter. Sorry. Will write soon. How amazing that sales jumped THAT much in ONE hour!! But why are people going to Amazon when the singles won't be shipped until AFTER the 21st, I wonder? That won't help Meat right now. Wish we could get the word out...but I don't know how.
However, NEXT week's numbers are certainly going to be incredible!!!

Ok my update.
just brought the last copy at a local independant retailer. He wouldn't say how many he'd ordered but did say he'd had no problems obtaining copies in time.
My HMV have 5 left I'm off to buy them shortly. Have spoken with HMV customer service who state that the problem with the supplies is due to the record company changing the release date therefore HMV placed their order late. DUH excuse me but if they had an order anyway wouldn't it carry over to the new date???? I'm waiting for a phone call back to see if they can say what stores have copies left, will post if I get the info.
Woolworths...OMG lord help me......didn't have a clue about the single. have phoned their customer support team tel: 01706 862789 who tell me that they only stock 50 singles...where as other companies stock 100+ and get this they aim and the 12 year old market...WELL EXCUSE ME!! my 12 year old son has brought the thing with me....they were brought up on Meat Loaf if not conceived to him(music of couse)...lol but that's a different story.
LOCAL RADIO......one station tells me its not on their playlist therefore cant play it...i offered to drop the single off to them! they will only play it when its in the charts....I have the name of the playlist editor for another station who is gonna get a phone call when she's out of a meeting in the next half hour.
PHEW......I'm exhausted.....LOL
Meat I hope you can see how much we all love ya! xxxx

I asked Virgin when they actually got the single, they said Monday(WOW somebody actually got it on time).
Asda didn't have it.I asked,if I drop a copy into you would you play it in the store?Unfortunatly, they couldn't do it,because all the music is done at head office and basically played live at all their branches.Shame, that could have been great exposure.
JCM,don't give up man.As we've seen with HMV,some branches have it others don't.Get the number and give them a call. You've got nothing to lose  .
Keep going everyone.

Hi, JC. Listen, don't you worry about it. The big thing is you've been trying, which is more than others are doing. And as for being short of cash, well, there isn't a single one of us here who doesn't understand what that's like! Hey, even Meat understands that one, you know?!!
What you can do is to keep checking in your area for the singles. Puritan wrote earlier that he went to one store and they didn't have it, then went back an hour later and it was there. So, shops are still getting deliveries and stocking the shelves.
And when you DO find them in your area, come here and post where they are so that others who live near you will know where to go to get them.
Okay??
I think everyone here will agree you've been doing a great job of helping here!!
My original order from HMV.com arrived this morning, and the next batch is on its way :)
I was struck by just what exceptional value both the single and the album represent. £2.99 for a "single" which has 4 tracks including a video, and £9.99 for an album with 12 new tracks plus additional tracks and 3 videos ..my visitor this morning was amazed!
Superb vfm at any time .. and for Meat LOaf just amazing .. though not surprising. His last release The Best Of was exceptional value too.
Don't forget ..
if you can't find it in a store .. complain and then go to:
http://www.hmv.co.uk/
Search meatloaf, then at top of second page make your selection!!

You know what I don't understand, guys? If a chain picks something up, why doesn't every store have it--or at least, know about it?? It doesn't make sense unless your store chains work differently than they do over here. Maybe things are decided manager by manager, although that doesn't really make sense, does it?! Wouldn't that be too chaotic in terms of keeping track of the stock???
It sounds like Virgin Megastores have it around the country, just as many of the HMVs do. I called the Virgin store yesterday on Oxford Street because Sue W had stated they had a lot of them. But they wouldn't ship overseas. But it's good to know that there are two major names out there who DO carry CHSIB.
That's good for everyone out here to know!
Hi, Caryl! Welcome back. Good to see you! You lucky soul--enjoying your single! Can't wait to get mine! But I know it'll take awhile to get across the ocean! Still and all...it'll be well worth the wait! :)
I'm sorry, Mariella, about your credit card. I can't believe there's one they don't take. I thought businesses were so hard up these days that they'd take practically anything!!! But you're still being a big help and that's what counts!!
Great job so far, everyone!! I think Meat has the BEST fans in the whole world!!!!!!!

Hi! I'm back from giving my parents breakfast and trying to catch up on the news that happened while I was gone.
Barmad--that's terrific! You cleaned out your area!!! Can you tell us if the stores you got them from were chain stores or independents? If they were part of a chain, post their names here, so that others can check them in their local areas to see if CHSIB is there!!
Sin: You hit upon the perfect idea--contacting the radio stations. That has to be our next major move, I would think. The more people who hear the song, the more of them who will want to go out and buy it--if they can find it right now, that is!
Help me out here, friends, since I must plead innocent to how your radio works in the UK. I know, of course, about all the BBC radio stations because they are online. But are the stations in the UK ALL national ones or do you also have local radio stations? We used to have major national radio stations here--still do have few, but mostly, we have evolved into lots and lots of local stations for every city.
If you only have national ones there, then start hitting them hard with requests and don't take no for an answer. You've been waiting to hear this song. You KNOW it's been released and you WANT to hear it! If they tell you that their playlist is made up elsewhere, find out where and then, like Sin, begin to hit THEM hard.
Now, if you have local stations as well, it will be up to each of you to hit your area's radio and do the same thing. If we get enough of us doing it, then, we should have some success, at least.
If any of you want to post contact numbers for your major radio stations here, that would be great and make it easier for everyone to begin hitting them with requests!
Great idea, Sin!
Hi, Sherrie, you naughty person, working on the clock!! Don't worry. WE won't tell on you!!
Looking at your list, I'm wondering if the Tower Records you contacted is the SAME as our Tower Record chain over here. That's major, if it is. Does anyone know if they are one and the same? Keep it up, Sherrie, if you can, but don't get yourself into trouble because of it. Maybe by contacting all these online stores, they'll begin to realize there's a demand for this CD and at least, order it!!
Mariella: Congrats, girl!! Way to go! As they say, "Where there's a will..." NO, I'm NOT going to say--there's a relative!! Oh, would I do such a thing???!!
I gotta share a story with you before I end this post. About 8 months ago, we moved my parents in with us to take care of them for the rest of their lives. They both turned 89 a month ago.
And of course, since they moved in, I've been sharing Meat with them. Now, in the beginning, I didn't expect them to like the music because, quite frankly, it's not typically their kind of music. But much to my surprise and delight, they loved him!! Almost immediately!!
I've been playing the videos and playing all the CDs for them. My dad's so cute. He gets this funny little look on his face when he's watching Meat. He really likes when I play one of the older tapes with Bob Kulick on it. I think it's because my dad doesn't have a lot of hair left and he sort of identifies with him. :p
By the way, do any of you remember--just yesterday on some show, if memory serves (and very often these days, it doesn't), Meat was giving the age range of his fans and I think he said it was from 9 to 72 or something like that? And I remember smiling to myself when I heard that because I KNEW I had it beat!! From now on, he's got to say from 9 (or whatever) to 89!!!
I have reached a point where I am no longer amazed at his ability to reach beyond the generations and touch people's hearts!! Stop worrying about your birthdate and year, Meat. You are timeless. You are ageless...
Anyway, sorry--getting back to my story: When I was downstairs a little while ago, I was telling my folks about everything that's happening here with Meat and the problems with the CD. And don't you know, they told me to go and buy 10 more CDs for THEM to try to help out!
So, like Mariella, I'm off to HMV again to order more, hoping they still have some left.
Talk with you all soon!! Keep it going, friends!!!

Yes, the Tower records email I posted is the same parent company as the Tower records in the US- this is just the UK base for it.
I just got back from ordering my copies of the single from hmw, and they ARE remarkably low priced, even when shipped to America. I got five copies plus air mail shipping for just a touch over $25 American. For you Brits, it would only be 14.95 (pounds) plus shipping- order a few there too!
I'll be giving extras to my coworker, my best friend, my parents (who are Meat's age).....anyone who I can to convince them to buy the full album once it hits our shores.

Telephone number for Capitol Radio 020 7766 6000 they also control the playlists for local independant radio stations.
I've just had a telephone call from a VERY helpful lady called Lorraine at HMV she has check HMV stocks across UK and says that the only HMV stores currently without stocks of CHSIB are:-
Bradford
Cabary Warf
Covent Garden
East Kilbride
Heathrow Terminal 1
Reading (Friars)
Tunbridge Wells
She says that all stores have had stock although it was late and those stores that are now out of stock its because they've been SOLD.
Good news at last HMV Hounslow Middlesex have the single - they actually had it in Monday whilst I was down there but they omitted to tell me -cretins - Album next Monday I wait with bated breath

Lunchtime today HMV in Rotherham (Parkgate, if anyone knows it) had approx 15 copies in the "new releases" section. Bought what I could afford, of course!
But, if anyone in the area wants to buy the rest, they are in stock.
Hope we make it!

Sorry I disappeared for a while, but somehow work interferes with my love of great music. Just home for my lunch hour, will disappear again. MB, great job keeping everyone inspired! Don't worry about sending an email, this is way more important. You can find the sales ranking on Amazon right above the track listing on the description page of the item. The single is now ranked 320 and the ablum 5.
Will be back later, great way to band together guys!!!!!!

Great news, Sin! Actually, that's really great news, because earlier today we heard that several HMV stores around the country did NOT have CHSIB in. If that means they didn't have it because it was sold out, then sales may have been better than was first thought. We can hope that's the case, anyway.
Thanks for the Capitol Radio phone number. Sounds like it's a good one for everyone to start calling and requesting that CHSIB be played!!
And Dottie--congratulations!! Glad to hear your area has finally gotten things in! If the independent store there has already SOLD OUT the album, I'm confused. Is it for sale NOW? I thought it wasn't being released until April 21st. I guess maybe some stores are selling it early?? Can they do that?? Still, no matter what, it's good to know the CDs are going!!! That's the main thing!
Good job, Dottie!! Hope others in your part of the country will see your post and get going on these things, too!
JM: Thanks for continuing to look!! Sounds like your area just won't be getting it until the 21st! That's a shame, but it's out of your hands! At least, you tried!!! As for the album deserving to go to the top, well, you know what we all would probably say to that...C. H. S. I. B. (myself). :P
Mikey: Good find!! Let's hope someone else in your area will see your post and go get 'em!!
Thanks, Jules, for understanding about not writing. I'm going to go take a quick peek at Amazon now that I know where to look. The CD single is REALLY selling there!! Terrific news! You know, if we CAN get it into the Top Ten this week, then next week, with Amazon and everyone else finally fulfilling their orders, this song could go all the way to...well, maybe I won't jinx it by saying it here. Having a little superstition is always good, I think.
I'm not sure how much more we all can do with 'physical' stores today, since it's getting late in the UK.
But for those of you just finding and reading this thread, who want to help Meat, it's never too late to order online--doors never close, open 24 hours. :P And the best place for that (the most likely place to have it in stock RIGHT NOW) is still at http://www.HMV.co.uk, as you've seen in Caryl's posts!
If you want to strike out early tomorrow to buy what you can, as you just read from Sin, most HMV stores have (or had) it. Maybe call first to make sure. Also Virgin Megastores around the UK also seem to have it readily in stock.
Tomorrow, in addition to buying what CDs we all can, we should think about continuing the campaign Sin started by phoning and/or emailing radio stations around the country to request CHSIB be played. The sooner people hear the song and the more they hear it, the sooner they will want to go out and buy it!
Right, Meat?!! 8)
You've gone quiet on us today, mister. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Here's hoping this did you some good today and that we can continue that good through the night online and on Friday.
We still need to know how long we have to make this push for you. Is Friday the end day of the Chart Week? Or, if you released the CD on Monday, do we have until Sunday to push for sales??
I'll be back later today and through the night (early morning UK) and catch up then on what you guys have continued to share here. Right now, I'm off to grab a couple hours of zzzzz. It's been a while since I did a 24+hour stint. I don't think my body's used to this anymore.
Take care, everyone. Thanks for a productive day!! It's been fun being with all of you. Hope the sales continues through the night online, as more people join us!!
Sending love and peace to each of you!! See ya all a little later!

To save you making too many journeys, check out the HMV website.
In the right hand side of the page, there is a store seach facility.
If you click on it,you will be asked to type in the name of a town.
When you do that,a list of branches will come up.Click on the branch you want, and you'll get the contact details including the phone number.
It could save you a lot of time.

should have mentioned earlier I think someone at sometime asked the question about when the cut off date is for the current weeks chart calculation. An independant retailer told me it was sales from saturday to saturday dont know if this is right and to be honest it don't make sense to me 'cos each week they'd be counting a days worth of sales that had already been counted in the previous week. Does that make any sense or am I now just so exhausted I'm babbling and generally talking rot?
I just had a notification that my order for 10 was accepted .. and I think the fact you've ordered them will count as sales from Meat's point of view. If there's a delay and you're desp to get the record in your hot little hand, you can have one of the ones I've bought from the Sheffield real store when I collect them .. probably this weekend .. and I'm sure yours will be sent out by HMV on-line by then .. but keep me posted OK?
Caryl xo
And I just got a message that the 10 that I ordered will be shipped tomorrow !!

Hi everyone...
Went into HMV in Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, asked if they had it they said no, assistant wasn't very helpful so gave them good dressing down. Must be one of the ones that are sold out and that was why they didn't have it.
Went into Virgin and shelf was filled this evening, now have 5 copies in my posession.
I am having problems getting hold of tickets to either Birmingham, Cardiff or Manchester, all the tickets that seem to be available on the ticketmaster site are towards the back. Anyone know where i might be able to get better seated tickets?
Actually looking forwards to listening to the chart for once instead of dreading the usual dribble that is on the chart, hurray for excellent music again!

hey people, my first post on here, but by no means last, I can't believe it took me so long to find this site! whats the deal with this, i've bought five copies of the single quite happily, would buy more if i could afford to, my local virgin in nottingham was very well stocked and even advertising it over the tannoy as i walked in. how does this meet ad greet work? do we send proof of purchase off or what? many apologies if this has been covered and i'm just too stupid to know whats going on. any help is much appreciated.
cheers
Dan
Been looking round Amazon UK, the album is up to #7 in their sales rank (#2 in the pre-releases).
The single is at #300 in the sales rank, according to them it's not released until the 21st (???) so it's showing up at #4 in their pre-releases.
Dan asked:
how does this meet ad greet work? do we send proof of purchase off or what?
Apart from Meat tearing in and asking us to help and making the offer nothing more has been said as to the detail. But November's a long way off, and if Meat makes a promise I think we can rely on him to make it work :)
He was more concerned about re-imbursing people, but I don;'t think anybody wants that .. just the chance to help, and to meet him when he's on tour as the icing on the cake ..

And a very good evening to everyone!! Back from a nap and with dinner duties out of the way, I'm here for the evening/morning and looking forward to it.
Been trying to catch up on all your news, while I was gone.
Hey, Chris, if you're still out there, I think Mariella was asking you if PopB*tch was something that could be read online. I think we'd all like to read an early prediction that CHSIB is going to do well in the charts. Of course, we fans already KNEW it's going to. Give us a link, if you can, Chris. Okay?
I'm sure that if there hadn't been this last-minute switch of release dates, then all would have been well and Meat, and we, wouldn't be going through this. But it made so much sense for him to have this week to promote the album BEFORE its release. As for the single, I suppose it, too, should have postponed for the week, especially seeing what has happened, but then, isn't hindsight wonderful?! But no matter...here we all are, working and hoping for the best for Meat!
Hey, Sin! Thanks for the info about the cut-off. The person was probably saying that the chart runs from Saturday TO Saturday, which means we continue to push for sales until midnight tonight for this week's all-important first listing. Good to know this! It's still a shame this is all happening on Good Friday and I have no idea how that's going to affect it.
Tell me, friends, do stores usually close up early on this day in the UK? Here in the States, some businesses close up for a couple of hours--often between noon and two in the afternoon and then, run as usual business hours. But I have no idea what the tradition is there. Might be good to know, if you do.
Way to go, Vicki! You'll probably get yours before I get mine, which shipped yesterday, since you're on the East Coast. We always have to wait longer for things out here in the West.
A big welcome to all you newcomers. Nice to have y'all with us! Meat can use all the help he can get right now from the sounds of his urgent requests yesterday. I do wish we had some idea of how we have been doing, but perhaps, even Meat doesn't know. He might have to wait for the lists to come out like the rest of us. Wish I knew more about this entire process, but I guess we're all learning here, as we go, and will continue to in the days ahead.
Hey, Dan, don't apologize for the questions. I think most of us have just been scrambling here the past day or so, trying to 'get the job done,' to think about that very much.
But I think you're so right, Caryl. He did seem much more concerned about buying back CDs from those who were willing to get extras to help him. I'm sure he'll work out the Meet and Greets later (I always thought it would have been better to have been "Meat and Greets" :) ), or assign someone to help him organize all that. Heaven knows, he's got enough on his mind right now, with promoting the new CD everywhere he can in Europe. And then, he has to get ready for the tour which starts in a couple of months. Not a lot of time to do it all!
Dan, I absolutely loved your line about sending in 'proof of purchase'!! You don't mind my teasing a little, do you? I immediately got this mental image of him validating parking, too!  Sorry. I just couldn't resist it!!
But seriously, from the sounds of it, he intended for those who wanted compensation for the extra CDs to bring them along to the M&G and then he'll take them, and autograph one to give back to you. Most of us have indicated that we do not want compensation for any of this. Meat has already given us more than enough through the years, by sharing his talents with us. Besides, this is what fans do. What are we good for, if not helping out the person we care about when asked?? And Meat does not ask very often. So, it's been a real pleasure and joy to be here and be able to do what we can--if only in a small way. :)
I'm sure he'll tell all of us how to go about getting the backstage passes for the M&Gs, when he has the time. Some of us will be looking foward to them as soon as June, and throughout the summer months, here in the States. :p So, keep checking back at this website and forum, guys. That's the best any of us can say right now.
Thanks for the info on Nottingham, Dan. It does sound as though the Virgin Megastores around the country are the best stocked right now. So, those of you who will be heading out early Friday to go get yours, keep that in mind, as well as your local HMV shops--some of which still have copies and some, apparently, have already sold out.
Freddy, I don't know about tickets to the shows there. I do know that there have been tickets up on auction at ebay--almost from the moment they went on sale to the public. But be prepared to pay a hefty amount there. It's a scalper's world, I'm afraid.
Also, sometimes, in some venues, the Fan Club has special seating reserved for members only. So, perhaps you can check into that, if you're interested. They may not have details yet, since, as Caryl said, you have until November for the concerts in the UK. But it's something to look into. I hope that helps.
Robert, thanks for the info on Wakefield. Let us know what you find out tomorrow there, so others in the area, who might be reading this forum thread, will know what to do.
Thanks for the latest update on Amazon, Termin8orjen. I can't believe how the numbers have changed during the course of one day!! It's really getting exciting. I just wish, for Meat's sake, it was happening THIS week instead of next, when Amazon gets its supply! :? Oh well...
Let's talk about the 'gameplan' for today, if that's all right, now knowing that it's likely Friday midnight will be the cut-off for this week's chart.
First, and I suppose, most importantly, we need to get new people here to understand the urgency of Meat's request, who will continue to buy CDs either online or in their local areas. Most of us have already purchased what extras we can afford to. So, we need 'new blood,' so to speak. If you correspond with people who might be interested, or if you're on a mailing list where you could post what's going on, that would be one way of getting the word out.
Those of you who have Meat-related websites: PLEASE let your readers and visitors know of this situation.
I have a silly idea in the back of my head. I don't know why it came to me. You all know the old wartime poster, with the U.S. Uncle Sam looking straight out, finger pointing straight out toward the viewer and the poster says, "Uncle Sam Wants You"? Well, how about Meat's face in a similar pose. Oh, you get the idea. I suppose it would have to be "Needs" instead of "Wants"...but...I know. I get these silly ideas sometimes. Believe me, they come uninvited.
Anyway, the important thing is to make as many people as possible aware of the situation, so that they can join in and help Meat.
Since there was no emailed message from the other fan club, I'm assuming Meat either was too busy or decided not to involve those people. It's a shame, though. I'm sure they would have loved the opportunity to help him, as we are. But that's the way it is. If you know people, though, in the OFIC, I'm sure it'll be all right to inform them about all this, so that they can choose to get involved or not.
Can any of you come up with other ways to let people know TODAY about the situation? Please post them here. Okay? The more ideas we have to work with, the better!!
Second, as we talked about yesterday, with Sin's plan, it would probably be a good idea for all of us to do our bit today to hit the radio stations around the country. We still need those of you in the UK to help supply contact phone numbers for people to call in and request CHSIB to be played.
Also, since I now know there are also local independent stations in the UK, perhaps some of them have websites. And radio websites often have ways of listening to them online, like the BBC does at their website. Good thing about radio websites: They always have a way to email them to share your thoughts. This is something that ALL of us can do right now, whether we're in the UK or not. Anyone can email a radio website and put in a request!!
But once again, friends, we need the help of those in the UK, who can share with everyone major rock 'n' roll Radio station names/Call Letters (how ever your stations are called). That way, we can find out if they ARE on the web. Stations that are not internet-based will have to be phoned by those of you in the UK.
So, please, begin to build a list of major places CHSIB could (and should) be played. Then, we can all get busy and contact them in whatever way is appropriate.
Getting a lot of airplay right now is vital to the success of the single and the album, which follows next week. Meat's appearance on TOTPs is going to give it a huge boost, too!!
That's all I can think of from here at the moment. As the night and day progresses, if you have ideas of ways to help Meat, PLEASE share them! We've got to put our heads together to create the most effective plan. So, speak up. The more of you, the better!
I'd better send this post off or I'll be typing here the rest of the night.
Looking forward to hearing what y'all have to say and what's been happening there with you!
Let's get this 'Good' Friday rolling for Meat... :P

I THINK i might have a nice way of getting word out to people online, but im not sure i'll be able to create it so short notice in a super duper 'amazing' way or anything, but i'll give it a shot. But i figured since it sounds like this needs to be done ASAP today (its 1am EST here, i'll do my best to get it done by mid afternoon UK time, but i need some sleep first! :) !) for this to lend a hand, i figured to ask for ideas.
I'm looking for quotes for a good description of the single -- hopefully just a sentence or two and something that would catch a potential buyer's eye. Like i said, its pretty late here at the moment and its been a loooooong day, so my 'creative' side is a little slow. The only kind of quotes i can come up with is stuff like: "The passion is building...The Sparks fly once again between Meat Loaf and Patti Russo...in the duet Couldnt Have Said It Better...." -- see, i think it kinda needs work; does anyone have anything better descriptive quote wise?? If not, i'll do my best to come up with something on my own, but feel free to post any ideas!
Oh, basically what this will be is a thing people will be able to send to others that is like a mini animated advert. Ive never done any before, but even before this week, was looking into how to make some, but i thought maybe this is the best cause(the single buy-a-thon) to jump right in and give it a try! Also at the end of the advert, as long as i figure it all out, i can input links and such -- the HMV site is the best site to direct people to, correct? Should i just skip Amazon.uk or is that a good one to send people to as well? Any others? Let me know please, thanks!!

Hi, Jen! I'm SO glad you're here!!! And what an amazing idea--a terrific way to spread the word, attached to every email sent out!! I absolutely love it, as I do your website!
Listen, I have a problem. Something happened when you shared your idea here. I immediately got a full-blown image of one in my head. I tend to see things, Jen, at a slightly tilted angle (figuratively speaking). That's the way I've been my whole life. I suppose I could try to change it. But you know, after all these years of being this way, I sort of like it. 8)
I'm not a professional photographer like you, so I don't have a photographer's eye. But I have done a LOT of layout, newsletters, typesetting, desktop publishing, some ad work--nothing on a professional basis because of certain circumstances--but still and all, I did this work.
So, instead I have a layout artist's eye. When I say I have a full-blown image, I am not picturing, necessarily, the exact photos that go along with it. Just the idea behind the photos, as I see them in my head, plus the kind of fonts needed--because they give it life, as well as the photos.
My problem here is that because most of this idea is complete, in its way, I am afraid that I will have taken away your artistic freedom here and I would NOT want to do that for anything in this world! As I said, I love your website. I call it Eye Candy because my eyes are always surprised and delighted by what I see when I go there, and I go there often. Not to mention all the great material there.
So, by sharing this idea, I don't want to take anything away from you. Am I making sense? This is a good thing you're proposing. I don't want anything bad to come from it between us.
Therefore, I was thinking, if you like this idea at all, and I'm sure it's not what you are already imagining (and I know you have already begun to build an image of what you want to do in your head by now), would you consider doing two? Your conception and mine? I'll find a way to compensate you, if I can, for your work, and it IS, indeed, work. Maybe if you're coming out to the Saratoga concert as you did last year, we can buy you some wine or dinner or something. :) We can work that out later.
Anyway, can I share my concept with you? I'm going to try to describe it as it's in my head, which probably won't be easy. But I'll do my best. Since I can't speak it to you, you need to "see" it.
The photos I imagine behind the first section are of a couple. They are slightly blurred, so you cannot distinguish their faces, but you can see that it is a man and a woman. I have no particular colors in mind. I would certainly leave that up to a photographer's eye!!
The photos would show this couple in varying emotions. I can't picture anything else in the blurred photo but them. The emotions would fit in with the words on that particular screen. There would be five different screens in this section.
This is the only part onwhich I cannot picture the fonts. The rest I have an image in my head. Perhaps the fonts will be dependent upon the photos chosen. I don't know why it's not there, but it isn't.
First screen, the photo of the couple is seen and then the words come up:
You have the right to remain silent.
Second screen, second photo:
Angels watching over us all.
Third Screen, etc.:
Hearts crashing to the ground.
Fourth screen etc.:
This is the moment we've been waiting for.
Fifth screen etc.:
Just love me like you love nobody else.
Then, the photos are gone. I see a plain colored background--again, the color of the background would have to fit in with the photos we have just seen.
On comes these words, in a soft font--not necesssarily cursive, but just one with round, soft lines--not square, blocky. Okay? The color of the font--well, obviously contrasty, but still fitting in with the colors from the photos.
(I made the word "this" in all caps, in the following line, but that's NOT the way it should be. However, that is the word I am hearing in my head as being emphasized. So, it would have to be just the tiniest bit larger than the other words, OR perhaps, it could be done with color and its color would be slightly different from the others. This would all have to be subtle, you know. It's just something that the eye and mind would register, without really understanding what is going on. Not really subliminal, but you know what I mean.)
And the words are:
Is THIS a song?
Then, I think the words would gently fade and very abruptly, there would be a large photo of Meat, as he looks now-- We need a Big Bold Blocky Square Font for this part, as the words quickly come onscreen:
HEY, WE'RE TALKIN'
MEAT LOAF
HERE!
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
(I made the letters all caps, just to give the feeling of blockiness, but I'm not sure that they should be. Maybe...It would depend on how it looks. The emphasis on the last line is on the word, "think" so, once again, that would have to be the slightest bit larger or the color varied subtly to allow the eye to see it. And the text, of course, would be centered, which I can't seem to do here.)
Then, I can't decide whether to keep the photo of Meat up. Perhaps it would be better to have the cover of CHSIB onscreen. Or the blank, colored background again.
And the credits would be here: Font, still blocky, but would be smaller than the previous screen, growing ever smaller, line by line, but still readable.
Couldn't Have Said It Better
performed by Meat Loaf and Patti Russo
words and lyrics by James Michael
Mercury Records, copyright 2003 (don't know how to do the symbol in here)
IN STORES NOW (god willing)
(only kidding on the 'god willing' there. That's just how I feel after the past couple of days.)
Are there any other credits which would be needed? That's all I can think of....
So, we're probably talking 15 to 20 seconds, tops for this. The first part: the photo screens only have to be visable as long as it takes to read the words.
Now, we would probably have to get some permissions in order to do this: Meat--probably James Michael because we are using some actual lines from the song...I don't know who else--how Mercury may or may not fit in. So, this might just be more complicated than it seems.
I would LOVE to use Meat's font on his name, but after the fire which reigned down on different sections of this website yesterday, I'm scared to even put the thought in my head!!!
What thought??
Anyway, Jen, what do you think? I respect your opinion on these things. Is this potentially doable? Too difficult?? Did I give a good enough description for you to picture in your mind what I have in MY mind?
I have all these ideas in my head, but I don't, at this time, have the knowledge and ability to work with the various media needed to put it all together. I haven't had the time or chance to play with multimedia enough.
As I said, I'm sure it's not anything like you are imagining. But I would love to hear what you (and anyone else reading this) have to say about it.
One more quick thing and then I'll end this post. You know, Jen, have you asked anyone what they think CHSIB means? The song--not the title, that is.
I was having a rather heated discussion about it with my family. So, I have since then gone to others and asked what they thought it meant. And I get a different answer every single time.
And to make it even more interesting, everyone seems to try to apply it and their meaning for it, to their own personal life!!
I am beginning to believe that James Michael (as well as Meat's and Patti's interpretation of it) has created a truly universal song. Everyone relates to it in a different way, finds different meanings from the lyrics, and then, takes it home to their own life.
I'm finding that really fascinating!! I was thinking about starting a new topic at this forum, just to see how people would respond to it. Might be in interesting study.
Anyway, enough for now. Better post this--or I won't. It's hard to let go of creative ideas, especially when they are still 'cooking' inside of you. I'm sure you understand what I mean, Jen!
Again,Jen, thanks for being a part of all this and for bringing everyone such a terrific idea to help advertise the single and the upcoming album!!
Hope all of you will continue to respond to her request for quote ideas to use for her email ad.
It's now 1:25 a.m. in California. That means, 9:25 a.m. in the UK. Not much action here so far today. Hope things pick up, for Meat's sake. Please check in, friends, and let us know what you're seeing or finding in your local communities.
Also, we're still looking for radio stations that can be contacted either by phone or via the internet to 'encourage' them to start playing CHSIB.
We gotta keep this 'push' on at least until midnight UK time!! We can do this!! Talk with y'all later.

Don't forget TV MUSIC CHANNELS!!!
I am proud to announce that I was responsible for
"Couldn't Have Said It Better"
being shown 5 TIMES in 1 HOUR!!!!!!
These channels where you ring up and requst a video are also great exposure for the single!!

P.S: When's Meat on "Top Of The Pops"?
P.P.S: BOUGHT 10 COPIES OF "CHSIB"!!! LETS GET THE BIG MAN RIGHT TO THE TOP OF THE CHART!!!!

Hi, Sin and Greavzyboy!! Nice to hear from both of you. Been kinda quiet here today so far. But I'm sure, whether people are writing in or not, they're busy doing what they can for Meat!
Great suggestions both of you! And congrats, Greavzyboy, on the music videos. I don't think anyone else has suggested the Music Channels before! It's a terrific way to get exposure for Meat's new song!!! Great job!
I'm not sure when Meat is supposed to be on the TOTPs. There was some talk about it being this week, but apparently, that's not what's listed. So, instead, maybe they just did the taping of the show this week and it'll be shown in the future. Keep checking the calendar up in the right hand corner of this forum. R. set it up so that everyone could keep track of Meat's appearances. It's very handy!!! :D
You just bought 10 copies of CHSIB. Did you have any problems finding it in your area today? It sounds like more and more of the CDs are getting to the stores now, thankfully!
Sin, enjoy the fair with your kids! Sounds like fun!
By the way, did either of you get to see Meat on Richard and Judy last night? I haven't heard anything specific about his appearance and I was wondering if he addressed the CD problem at all. Just curious.
Thanks again, guys. Keep it going!! 8)

I saw the Richard and Judy interview!
They played a clip from his video and he plugged the single and the album which he guaranteed is released this Monday!
He also mentioned that "Bat Out Of Hell 3" is a definite!! He and Jim are already working on it and he seemed really excited about it!
They also conducted an experiment with plants. Apparantly plants grow much faster when "Bat Out Of Hell" is playing loudly! They tried it on cress seeds and it worked!! Meat was amazed! He said he'd heared about it before but had never actually seen any evidence!!
Back to the single problem. My local HMV (Doncaster) is currently stocking the single and has been since Monday. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones!
By the way, has anything been said about these "Meat and Greets"? I know I speak for everyone when I say that I would LOVE to show my appreciation and gratitude to Meat for all his years of work!
Anyway, not much time left before this week's chart position is revealed! This could be something really big! Lets hope so!!
Yours, Greavzyboy

Sounds like it was a fun interview, but then, most of Meat's TV appearances are interesting to watch! I had heard about the plants and BOOH before, but I thought that was just a myth! I would have loved to have seen the evidence, myself!
As for the Meat and Greets: No, Greavzyboy, no word from Meat yet, but then, none was expected this early. He's still working on promotion. I'm sure when he has it all worked out on how to do them, with this many people, he'll let us all know.
Keep watching the MLUKFC forum for news about it. The UK concerts aren't until November, right? So, there's time for you.
Thanks for the R & J report! Enjoyed hearing about it. Keep calling those Music and Radio Channels!! Okay?! :P
I just sent a big notice out to the Meat Loaf Bat Caves about the situation. I have also changed the "buy button" on my site to point to HMV. We NEED people to buy this. I just orders my unGodly amount of singles...lol...it is all worth it!
It is sad that Mercury Records went "screwing around" with this amazing single!

Hi everyone,
It's SO good to know this is going this well. I knew it
Took the afternoon of again, will be calling/mailing radiostations in the UK today. Also getting more people to buy the single online.
Like MB said, it is SO VERY important to have 'new blood' today!
Please, if any of you read all this for the first time, do not waiste any time, run to the store that has the single (check first) and buy as many as you can afford!
I love all this creativity (don't know how to spell that word) here.

 Sorry guys, but i've got to say this.
can we PLEASE stop talking about meet & greets.
i know I speak for most here when I say we're doing this to give something back to Meat, who has given us so so much over the years.
Meat has promised meet and greets, and I have no doubt at all that he will fulfill his promise.
If I get a meet and greet it'll be by biggest dream come true,if not that's life.I just feel privilliged to help.
Meat himself first told us about it in his first post, but people continually talking about it cheapens the whole gesture.
Right,let's get back to work.

I didn't mean to cause any upset about them. Its just that this is the first I have heared about them and I was excited at the fact that I may have a chance to meet the big guy and thank him personally for all his work over the years. I would never intentionally make anything Meat sound "cheap".

Mouse.....I'm working, working, working, infact it would be easier to be in the office
Heck I've loved his music for more years than I care to remember, it has been an intergal part of my life, so now a song or a line can bring back treasured memories. I don't think there's another Voice that can cause so many different emotions.
I'm really happy to see so many people trying to do their bit. Unlike the song I don't want my money back. Happy to help the MAN. If anything else comes out of it aparyt from a hit single or album then thats a bonus.
Does anyone have any new ideas as to tactics? or details of latest chart positions?
Ok now back to the phone......

Hi, everyone! This is great! We're getting busy again. Been a rather slow night/morning here.
Flying Mouse: THANK YOU!!!! I am SO glad you 'laid down the law,' so to speak and put the priorities where they deserve to be today!! I was getting really uncomfortable, not wanting Meat, if he happens by this forum, to think that people were doing what they're doing JUST to get in to see him. But I didn't know how to handle it. Thank you SO much!!
From here until Midnight UK time, let's concentrate on the ONLY thing that is important--the reason all of us have been here steadily for the past few days, and that's to help get CHSIB into the UK Top Ten, where it certainly deserves to be!! Yes!!
Sin, no word on the charts. I wish I knew more about all this--when chart information is released, or at least, leaked, which I would imagine happens. Maybe someone will stop by here today who has had some experience with it and will share their knowledge!!
David!! Welcome! Another person I owe a letter to! Sorry. I hope you'll forgive me. That's a great idea to move the "Buy" button at MOTS to the only reliable online site for the single today! And I know a LOT of people subscribe to the BatCaves, so we should be getting some new blood here who will want to help Meat out!
Mariella, good to see you again! How in the world are you managing to get off work?! Better not tell us.
Gotta question for everyone in the UK. Do you think that more people watch the Music Channels or listen to the kind of Radio stations that Meat would be played on?? If you think that TV is the way to go, then that's what we should be concentrating on. But if you feel that radio might be more useful to the cause now, then that's the way to go.
By the way, those of us outside the UK are waiting for anyone to help us with a list of major Radio stations in your country (aside from the BBC, which we all know). I've heard CHSIB played on BBC Radio 2 many, many times now. It's always a thrill! Can't wait to begin to hear Meat on US radio again with the new material!!
But anyway, can you help provide us with stations that we can find on the web? That way, we, too, can begin emailing and requesting the single be played. I'd really appreciate it, for one. I have no idea where to even begin to look to find them.
And once again, if there are new folks just peeking in at all this and want to help, in the UK, your best bet is to go to either your local HMV store or Virgin Megastore, if you have them in your area. Or, if you live outside the UK and can order online, here's that valuable link again to the HMV UK website: http://www.hmv.co.uk Go get 'em!! And keep posting to let us know what y'all are doing!!!
Checked York today, there are plenty of copies in both Virgin and HMV, both displayed in "New Releases".

Hi, friends! Well, joyous news to share!
If you haven't checked out the General Message area of the forum in a while, you probably don't know that Meat left a message there for all of us!
Go and see it for yourself. I think we all did a fantastic job these past couple of days!! And it seems that Meat does, too! :P
I think you're right, Mariella, it's a great idea to continue to hit the TV and Radio stations around the UK, if you can! It sounds like that's been making a difference, as well as the sale of singles, of course!!
I think, though, that a little of the pressure is off us now, thankfully!
This has been so much fun for me, working with and getting to know all of you. After a couple years of just lurking here, I really feel like I'm part of the 'family' and I can't think of a better family I'd like to be a part of!!
Be talking with all of you again soon, I hope!!
As always, sending love and peace to each of you!!
Mirrorofthesoul has posted a link to hmv.co.uk in the upper left corner of the page, just click on the picture of the single, and you will go right to the website to order your copies!
Please post any radio/TV websites you know where we can submit requests and I will do my part to bombard them with play requests.

5 singles cost £17.15 including postage in the UK .. less than half a carton of cigarrettes!!!! And because of our crippling sales tax which is deducted for overseas buyers, it costs about the same including shipping to the USA .. that's less than $26 ..
Remember this "single" has 2 versions of CHSIB PLUS Unsaid, which didn't make the album and is imo lovely, PLUS the CHSIB video to watch on your computer .. hell THAT's worth $17 alone!!!!!!

Hi, guys! Wow! Wonderful posts!! Great to see this place so busy!!! :D
Sorry I had to disappear for a while. I had to take my dad to the doctor. But I'm back and ready to work.
I'm SO glad and grateful to those of you who have posted web addresses for some radio stations and also how to search for more! That's where I'm off to next--do my bit and email them!!
Caryl! You know, when I had that Uncle Sam image, I thought to myself that you were probably the only person who could do it justice!! THANK YOU! I LOVE it!
There is some news. Did you hear it yet? Just came down from the Official club that Meat is doing a CD signing on April 25th at the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street. The time given was 6 p.m. You lucky souls, over there! If any of you get to go, PLEASE pick a spot at the forum and tell us all about it!!
One more quick thing I've been thinking about: You all know about affirmations? When you are determined that something is going to happen, you come up with a saying or a chant and repeat it as often as you can. It's important that this saying be in the present tense, as if whatever it is has already happened--never in the future or it will never take place.
So, as I was sitting in the doctor's office waiting for my dad to come out, I began saying to myself,
"The time has come
for Number One!!"
And it's been playing in my head ever since. What do you all think?? Maybe if we all do this (or a better one, if you want to post it here), we can help this project along even more!!!!
I don't know about you, but I have a great feeling inside that this single (and album) is going all the way to the top!!! Whoo!!!
Talk with you later. I'm off to do some emailing!!! Thanks again, friends. You're the best!!!

Anne, I'm afraid I've already got York covered!!!! :D I'm the one driving round in the red fiesta with the sunroof open and the window down. Believe me the tourists have had a good blasting of CHSIB, even at 5am when I'm on my way to morning shift at a certain well know chocolate company.
Where in York are you coming? I'll look out for you!
I get noticed in my car with it been a Smart car regardless of what is playing! However i recorded a continous loop of CHSIB on both sides of the tape with an annoucement of "And Now Couldn't have said it better by Meatloaf. In shops now!!" between each balst of the song. Been driving round delivering newspapers with it playing all day!!!
Also had it on in the four newsagents I run with a copy of the single sleeve on the counter so everyone knows what is playing!!!
Every little helps!
Anne & SteinBat,
sounds like the 2 of you have York rocking!
The other day I was at the gas station putting air in my tires, when I heard DIST blasting. Turned around and there was my wife, Jules, getting gas, LOL.
Play it long and play it loud!!!
Forgot to mention, I earlier mentioned a network of newsagents who ahd all agreed to buy a couple of copies of the single. Well they have now finished buying them. Grand total is 185 copies!!!!!! So if you go into your newsagents and they are giving it away with every Mars Bar, don't be too surprised. I think most of them ahve been given to paperboys with instructions to tell all their mates about the single!

Hey all!
Did everyone get a copy of the "Meat Needs YOU!" advert I made?!
If I missed you out and you would like one to freely distribute, just email me your address and I'll send you one!
I'd love to know what everyone thinks about it! So if you'd be SOO kind and give me some feedback on my efforts for the big guy, it would be much appreciated!

Greavzyboy had probs. with my lycos ac/nt tonight so not been able to look at it. I will feedback to you when I get to see it, but I'm sure it'll be great. Its fantasic to see how much effort is going into this
Anne, I'm afraid I've already got York covered!!!! :D I'm the one driving round in the red fiesta with the sunroof open and the window down. Believe me the tourists have had a good blasting of CHSIB, even at 5am when I'm on my way to morning shift at a certain well know chocolate company.
Where in York are you coming? I'll look out for you!
I don't have a sunroof, I drive a 15 year old subaru mini jumbo and I'm driving in the Netherlands. I have nothing but an old radio/cassette player in the car. But you just wait untill my son tapes CHSIB on cassette. I'll have my windows open and I'll scare the sh*t out of every Dutchy I encounter  And I'll cruise the "polders"over here, is great to relax that way. Polders is lots of flat country where you can drive real fast because you hardly ever see any other cars around... It's my way of letting off steam (don't know the correct English phrase).
The gas-pedal way down... Meat music just has that effect...

Yep. First a blank mail with subject "meat needs you" and after that I got the pic you made. Was cool. Did you actually search the memberslist for all email-adresses? Man... that's a great effort. You should have asked for R.'s permission to make you admin for a short time. As an admin, you can mail all the members with just one push of a button. At least: I own a YaBB forum, and I can... This is a Php board also, so I guess R. can too...
Checked Amazon UK sales ranking again, the album is still #7 (#2 in the pre-releases) but the single has gone down to #2494 (guess everyone's gone to HMV *LOL* and it's still showing as not released until the 21st)

HMV update their chart every Monday so they won't show it until then.
Hi Meat,
Apparently the international release date of the single "Couldn't Have Said It Better" is 21st April...I assume this includes New Zealand, because I have seen New Zealand and this date mentioned before. Please correct me if this is wrong. I went into a shop in New Zealand today (Saturday), and three days before this date they know absolutely nothing about it. That is to say, they don't even know one exists. I thought they would at least have been able to tell me that it would be out on the 21st. I will try that particular store, and others on Monday (the 21st), and if they still know nothing, I will post here again. I hope the single does well in NZ too.
And great to talk to you in the BBC Radio chat. THANK YOU for answering my question.
Shane.

Goodmorning everyone in Meat-land,
Just keep buying those singles, would like to know just how it is going with the charts!
Greavzyboy, very nice work! Have send a mail to everyone I could think of. Thank you so much!
Will be sending the same emails to stations today, ofcourse, that is so easy, not much work at all! Hope it helps, most important part is STILL getting people to buy the single at a store or at www.hmv.co.uk
Do think that is why amazone sales have dropped, HAS to be the reason.
MB, SO happy to 'meet' you, you were talking about a 'mantra' kind of thing, weren't you! Well, I have been doing this for weeks, just wasn't aware I was doing it! So we'll soon find out just what the power of the mind can do. And since we've also done our bit on the practical side of this, I feel good about the oucome..
Great day to you all,
Mariella

Hi, friends! Back again for another day of "Emailing for Meat." (Is that a bit like "Dialing for Dollars"??) (Have you heard of that show? It was on US TV quite a while ago. Don't know if it made it around the world, though. :p ) )
Mariella: I'm SO happy to have finally met you, too. I've been lurking around here for a LONG time now and have always loved reading your posts! It's nice to be friends now. :D
Yes, I was talking about something like a Mantra, although a bit longer than one or two words. I believe strongly in the power of people and what they can do when they work together. I also believe in the power of the mind and if we can find a way to hook into a combination of motivated, active people and motivated, determined minds, I think there is nothing we can't accomplished!! Heaven knows, we're all motivated here to help Meat take this single AND album to Number 1, where it (and he) deserves to be!!
Sorry. Am I sounding too Californian this morning?? :?
You must be SO excited, Mariella, about going to the Amsterdam show on the 23rd AND getting your Meat & Greet with the man, himself!! I'm excited for you. I hope you'll come back and tell us all about it!
Hey, Shane, welcome aboard! I'm sure Meat will be very interested in knowing that the single isn't even being talked about yet in NZ. Hope they won't have the same problems there that they had in the UK this week!! Keep us all posted. Maybe we'll have to start another campaign there, after the UK one.
You know, Shane, I have something with Pearl for you but I've been trying to figure out how to get it to you. The file is large, so I'll have to work something out. How do you normally pass large files with people??
Greavzyboy! Your poster was terrific! Based on the original drawing!! You really did a bang-up job, I thought! Thanks for sharing it with everyone!
Welcome Draven! Nice to have new folks still joining us here. Right now, in addition to trying to get more people to buy the CDs, we are emailing radio stations and TV music stations to get them to play the single, as Mariella was talking about in her post. Join in the fun.
Sin, when you join us today: I'm So sorry you're going to be away when Meat's doing the CD signing. But I'm sure if he's doing one, he'll be considering others. It, too, helps to sell the record. It lets people know that CHSIB is out there!! It's a wonderful opportunity, isn't it?!! If I hear anything, I'll let you know.
I'm so envious of those of you who are playing the CD and the single around your towns! I didn't get the German release of CHSIB, but was waiting for the UK release and of course, I'm sitting here, tapping my toes, waiting for the singles to come. But I know it'll be a while. How are people reacting when they hear it from your cars? Have you had many people ask you about what's playing? It's a great idea and a FUN way to let people know it's there!
I have a couple of questions that occurred to me over the night. Hope you don't mind.
1) In Meat's message yesterday, he mentioned "The Box" and was quite pleased that he was rated number 1 there. But what is The Box? Is it a music program? Or a music station? Is it like MTV or VH1? Why is this such an important thing to Meat? I'm just curious because I've never heard of it before.
2) Also in Meat's message (can you tell I went back overnight and reread it again?! :P ) he talks about "they." They didn't get it. They didn't think he could sell singles." Who do you all think they is? Is it the record company? Do you think it might be the actual radio and/or TV stations? Could it be the music sellers around the country?? What do you think? He isn't specific and I was wondering who, exactly, was holding up the works here and putting us to work (not that I mind that)?
Well, I'm off to begin a day of emailing. It's only 2:40 a.m. here in California, so I should be able to get a lot done today. I think I'd better use my other email name and address, though, don't you think? There's no way they can connect the two, if they are totally different, is there?
Oh, by the way, I was talking to my new neighbor, a very nice lady from Greece. We haven't had much to talk to each other about--hard to find things in common, I guess. I don't know how it got started, but somehow the conversation got around to Meat. And would you believe it--SHE's a fan of his, too. She had no idea he was even coming out with a new album. So, I told her all about what we're trying to do here and she was going to go right back into her house, up to her computer and buy some copies of CHSIB!!
You know, I think I've stopped being amazed at connecting with Meat's fans in strange places! They're everywhere! You just never know!! So, I guess it's best to not only keep typing here, but keep talking, too!!
As Chris keeps saying in his posts, "Every little helps..."! :p
Talk with you all later. Keep us informed on how you're doing and what you're finding out, as the day goes on. These updates keep us ALL going here.
Take care.

Hey MBrevard!
Yes, "The Box" is a digital music channel where you ring a hotline, vote for the video you want and then (in a matter of time) they play it!
I got "CHSIB" on the box 5 times in 1 hour yesterday! Its a shame more people havent got access to digital TV, or else Meat really WOULD be on 24/7!!

Thanks, Greavzyboy! What a cool thing! Wish we had something like that over here!
How in the world did you manage to get him on FIVE times in ONE hour?? Does anybody at the station monitor what airs?? Are they willing to show the same video again and again and again, if people call in??
This is great! More folks gotta start calling in, too. Do you have any idea what percentage of your country does have digital TV right now? 50%? Less than 50%
Just curious. More and more people over in the States are switching to digital cable--OR they're picking up the small satellite dishes. Guess if we had the station here, it would be on both, most likely!
Keep up the good work!!! :P

Whooo! All right!! Let us know how it's going, as the day progresses. Okay?
And speaking of getting people to hear the song, is anyone out there still going around to the record shops and requesting that CHSIB be played? You know, if the stores are better stocked now, and someone walks into it, hears the song playing in the background, and likes it, it's an instant sale!!! That's the way to do it.
In the record shops in the UK, do they also have TVs going, playing music videos? They do that over here in some of them. If that's the case, request the video (if it'll play on their player with the copyright protection). That's another great way to pick up sales for Meat!! Just a thought...
Back to emailing... Wish I could do more from here... :?

Woolworths Kingston same story no single :??: :??: :??:

sorry i'm a little late today.I always sleep late after a nights singing  .
I did some promo at work last night.I played CHSIB at the begining of the night.Half way through I played Unsaid. At the end of the night,Carol and I sang Anything For Love as usual, then played CHSIB again. At the begining of the night there were not many people in the pub,but at the end it was really busy and the crowd went mad when we played it the second time :D
The three times I played the Meat tracks,I told everybody this is/this is from the brand new single from Meat Loaf CHSIB which is available at Virgin megastore. In the announcment at the end of the night,I told everybody about the mistake made by the record company and that Meat is really mad that people can't get copies and stressed that the only place you can buy it in Liverpool is Virgin megastore.
I'm working tonight, tomorow afternoon and tomorrow night,so i'm gonna do the same thing all weekend  .

Hi, Dottie. Welcome back! Thanks for the update. This is TERRIBLE! We were all thinking that things are getting better there. Why in the world are they doing this to your section of the country?? It doesn't make any sense.
I suppose it's gotta be helping that you're going in and continuing to ask for it. Do you have friends there who might also be willing to go to some of these stores and request it? Maybe, as you and your friends do this, it will appear to be building a 'market' for the single (and album to come). And these store owners/managers will get on the ball and order MORE! We all know that if they did, they would certainly sell!! You'd just be helping the process along a little faster. What do you think??
Or phoning the stores might work, too, if you can't get people to physically go to them. A request is a request!!
That's all I can think of at the moment... Wish there were resources we could contact about it. Something is still not right there.
MOUSE!!! What a great story! I loved it!! A pub is the perfect place to have these songs playing!!! I didn't realize you sang. How long have you been doing it?
This is terrific! Everyone is finding their own ways to make an impact. And you know, I was thinking--even those of us who only reach a few people at all time--with enough of us doing it, that can add up for Meat quickly!!!
If you're working there through the weekend, Mouse, be sure to let us know how it goes for you!! :P People will start coming in, not only to hear your singing, but to listen to the album cuts, as well!!
One more question about The Box, if anyone knows it: Does the station have a website and can you request via that, or is it only through their Hotline phone???
Welcome back, Sin. Missed ya! How was the fair yesterday? And did you get any of the rides to play the single for everyone?? :P
Thanks for the posters people, i'm gonna print some off now and hand them out around town, might also stick a few up... hop i dont get arrested lol! If i do meat can pay my bail ;-)

Does anyone have todays info on chart positions?
What I aint quite figured out yet is who didn't do their job right in the first place to cause this problem. Everyone is blaming everyone else. Is it promoters, record company, or the shops ordereing depts.
PS any chance of a smilie that jumps up and down in frustration? 'cos that's how i'm feeling
MBrevard
19 Apr 2003, 14:17
Draven: Thanks for the info. It's a shame that I can't do anything from here then...
I'll have to check the website out, though. Maybe they have a listing of what's been played?? Or what is playing now?? That would be fun to see!
By the way, when you phone the Hotline to request your video/song, do they give you the chance to purchase it?? Is this a commercial station, which has ads in it every once-in-a-while? Just wondering how they make their money to stay on the air. If they try to sell CDs, that's all the better for Meat.
Plus, something that hasn't been talked about here yet: Every time they play the song--whether on TV or radio, Meat gets his royalties from it!! Double bonus!! :P
Mouse, thanks for your story. YOU weren't off topic. I MADE you go there!! It's MY fault! Tell Carol, by the way, she isn't the only one who would have been scared to death to do something like that!! I give her (and you) a lot of credit for getting up and singing. I like to sing, but I'm a shy singer--unless I'm in the audience of a ML concert, that is! 8)
Sin: Yes! I love Caryl's work! It's just incredible what she can do with backgrounds and Meat's photos, plus her own artistic talent!! I can't see anyone really getting into trouble for posting up the various artwork, can you? Are any of you seriously worried??
Hey, maybe you can get Meat to bail you out, since you're working on his behalf? (Meat, if you're reading these things--only kidding! Really!)
Sin: I have a feeling we're not going to hear any actual numbers until next week sometime--especially since this is a holiday weekend.
I'm also with you on that smilie!! I, too, would very much like to know who caused this mess!!!!!!! Maybe someday, we'll hear Meat telling the story--AFTER he's number 1, that is!!! Yes!! :P

I would like to hear how the single is getting on too.Has anybody got any info?
I don't know who is responsable. When I asked in HMV Liverpool,I was told that their singles buyer had said that the single had been delayed until the 21st.So is it the record companys fault for sending out wrong info,or the single buyer for not checking his facts? But that's just one branch and the problem seems to be more wide spread, although thankfully it looks like things are finally starting to move.
Keep going everyone.

If you want animated gifs to include in emails they're available too. My mail server's got some kind of indigestion today and mails are coming through in fits and starts, but I'll respond to anyine as soon as I get a mail.
And my good news is regarding a radio station I emailed who said they'd love to play the single but the record company hadn't sent them one. I offered to send them one, and a few exchanges of emails later I received this from the programme controller:
Thanks for that Caryl, we have a website of the day feature at lunchtimes M-F, so will feature your site to tie in with the single in the next 10 days. Keep up the good work, and if we can help in any way as a station, let me know
Cheers
Dave
My first batch from HMV arrived this morning, so one of those is going off today. The station is BCRfm in Bridgwater, Somerset. I can't tune in to that from Sheffield, but if anyone out there hears tnis do let me know. I think their audience is around 100,000 .. not huge but hey! .. plenty of people!! And as he's asked if he can help in any way I'm asking him to mention on the programme that this single includes a video of CHSIB as well as a song not on the album .. and that the album is out and that has 3 other videos on it.
Btw I've had notification that the albums I ordered from Amazon have been dispatched .. so the 21st date for the album release is being met in spades :))
Caryl
I've sent an email to Chris Moyles from Radio 1 asking if i send the single to him will he play it. I'm waiting for a reply.

Hi again! Back from taking care of my parents. What great news everyone has had!
Number 3!! All Right, Sin!!! This is probably not anything any of us would know, but I wonder just how many requests it takes to get a song to number 3 or number 1? Does the station ever say anything about this?
It's the same sort of thing for us and the CHSIB single: How many singles have to be sold to make it in the top ten?? None of us know, so we're working blind here.
From Meat's message yesterday, if I'm interpreting it correctly, it sounds as though he didn't think he'd be in the Top Ten where he wanted to be. But he was hoping, with all our help and the release of the album, that it would move up enough to be on the Top of the Pops by next week. Is that how the rest of you interpreted his message yesterday? Or did I misread it??
To those of you in the UK, perhaps, you can answer this for me? Do you know what position a song has to be in, in order to be eligible to be on TOTP? Is it the Top Ten or Top Twenty? Just curious...
Caryl, welcome back. Nice to hear from you and what great news to share with all of us!! Congrats! You and Vicki must be so excited and pleased!!!! I think a 100 thousand people is a terrific audience to be reaching!! And if they do give a plug for the album as well, with all its special features...well, sales should be up in Sheffield in no time!!!
Wasn't there someone here from Sheffield earlier?? I can't remember. If so, I hope they come back so they can share what happens.
Hi, Dave! Nice to see you. I have a strange question to ask you? I think about a week ago, I heard something about one of the BBC 1 announcers and I think it might have been the one you mentioned. Did he do something with Meat the last time he was on the show with him? Something to do with a parody of Dead Ringer?? I can't remember, darn it, exactly what I heard and I can't remember if it was here at the forum that I read it or one of the ML mailing lists. Does this sound familiar to anyone else??
I know that BBC has a number of radio stations. Been to their website a LOT these past couple of weeks. :) And I know I've heard CHSIB played on Radio 2. I was going to ask, before Dave's post, what other of their channels might be a good candidate for the single. Now, from Dave, I know that BBC radio1 is. Are there any others that might possibly play the song on air?? We can all hit them with emails, as well.
Wonderful news, guys! It may be Saturday, but it's certainly been a productive Work Day so far!! :P
I'm off to do some more emailing, myself! Let us know, Dave, when you hear back from Radio 1!! Here's hoping...
Just got back from town people, handed some of the posters out and they seemed to go down a treat, i know for a fact that 6 people went and bought the single whn i told them which shop it was in! Guess every little bit helps eh
Brilliant Draven!!
And MB, the radio station isn't in Sheffield but in Bridgwater in Somerset, so I won't hear it :( .. but hopefully a large number of cider drinkers will be turned on to Meat :)

 Just seen The Box CHSIB at number 3. What's made me laugh though is that The Box charts says sponsered by Woolworths!!!! Ummmm me thinks thats the company that told me when I phoned that they decided not to stock it because they aimed at the 12yr old teen market... guess they'd better rethink that one
Ok off to shop now
Yeh! Aint that right! I am apalled at Woolies attitude(AnitaHounslow)was the only person I came across in any woolies prepared to put their selves out for me
