97. The Future Ain't What It Used To Be
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!! The Future Ain't What It Used To Be (7) This song is in Top5 on my Steinman-list. The Pandor's version is million times better. The choir is okay but I miss the symphonic intro. It should be the second For Crying Out Loud or Objects, but it's really nothing. Meat is out of rhythm again, it seems he doesn't feel it. The best point of the song is Jennifer Hudson who is possibly better than Lorraine Crosby and Patti Russo (and Marion Raven of course) together. Meat at the end is really horrible I think. This song sounds like a live version. Jennifer is singing Meat over. Sorry! My score: 7 |

Thought it was okay, Jennifer sings well, I think this song should have been the final song on the album, would have been a nice ending.
7 out of 10. |

The best part is the ending were they use different vocals singing different lines
Meat singing, Hudson singing a different line, backing vocals singing a different line and other BV's doing the whooo's and whaas. Nice part of the song. The rest of the song sucks big time. It is horrible. The intro is bad, bad very bad. I hate that piano. Meat's first line is out of tone. The different arrangments on the "no more" part is really stupid. This is the worst song of the album, IMO. It is the worst produced Steinman song ever. 3/10. |

Nowhere near as good as the original on Pandora's box for me.
I think it would've been a great way to end Bat II and use Lost Boys and Golden Girls on Bat III instead. 5 |

Would have been better as a solo as opposed to a duet, however it's still a good song.

Not overly fond of this version. I do sense something of a country vibe, and I'm not that fond of country either. I'll have the Wuthering Heights version, please.
