Once tried to eat an apple while when I had my braces (the kind that go on teeth). It was like having a grater in your mouth that continually got clogged.

Mmm,
if you are clever about it you can eat an apple while wearing braces (although your Orthodontist will tell you not to). What you do is slice the apple up and then eat it, I like both but with my throat I can't eat oranges all the time.
