Default I met Slash yesterday!

Went to a press conference for his new band, Velvet Revolver. I heard 5 of the songs, then in came Slash!

There were 15 of us in a tiny room just chatting to him for half an hour, then we got to speak with Duff from Gun as well!

One of the greatest days of my life.

What does Slash look like now?
Did the songs sound like Guns'? if not, how did it sound?
What happened to Slash's Snakepit?

The same as ever and just as cool! I will post a pic up in a second and post the link here.

No they weren't like Guns, although they had some similarities (i think that is mainly due to Slash's distinctive sound). The lead singer is ex-Stone Temple Pilot's Scott Weiland, and his voice is really good on the tracks. They are quite classic rock, they won't set the world on fire in terms of the younger generations buying them instead of nu-metal, but I think clasic rock fans will like them.

I asked him that, and how this band differs. He said that Snakepit was more of a personal thing, him just getting some stuff out of his system and having some fun. He said they were never going to be a great band, but he wanted to make some music and it was an outlet for him. They seem to be taking this band very seriously as they have all stopped other projects, soe mid tour, to record the album.

Great news. Gotta love it when rock bands 'trade' musicians and it seems they do it more and more often. The Stone Temple Pilots did some cool stuff...

Thanx Badger.

The only cool Guitar player to be is Keith Richards..... he was a cool guitar player before cool guitar players were invented... even Slash is doing his best to look like him
