Default Choose what you believe !!

When Hang cool came back tuned , I freaked out !! I pulled it off right away,
Yes we sing a chorus , no more than 5 times .. then we may pick a better word or 2 to drop in, then verses and do the same !! But after the tuning mess on Hang cool I went back and re-sing almost the whole album over !!! On HIaHB.
THERE WERE 2 WORDS TUNED , IT WAS 4AM , WE HAD DONE A SHOW 2 DAYS BEFORE AND WE HAD TO MIX AT 10AM. I was just under. When I am not singing show after show , my voice is still very very strong !! I was 25 when I sang Bat 1 , I am 66 and we still do some songs in the same key we recorded them in on Bat !!
I heard A bootleg Rocky Horror , I like the way it sounds better now !! Believe what you what, call me a liar !! I will make you look like an idiot . Anyone is more than welcome to come and eat their words when I start doing Vocals in July . Come on, all you wise asses out there . Bring some money big money because I am going to take it from you !! I don't work like other singers , Rob at first freaked out . I have to find my Character , before I can sing a song , so I do a lot of very stage things working to find him . People don't get it at first. Then when I find him . It all comes together !! so all you doubters bite me . I swore after what Desmond did to the vocals , I would never let that happen again. There are better Live versions off that album than there were on that album. All you have to do is Listen to Peace on Earth, and others and know I am telling the truth !! I read the dutch post so you know who I am talking too !
I thought we were cool , You proved there is just no trust anymore and it is ashamed that the some people in the world are just Bitter, with Holes in their souls and are just miserable with their lives . I really do feel bad for you, that you are so unhappy and all you can do is to try and irrate . To make yourself feel better about yourself. If you Love what you do you will never work a day in your life !!! It seems fear has held you back from ever moving forward !!! to bad and very sad !!

I never cared if things are tuned unless its overdone like on the Guilty Pleasure DVD on a track or two.

Personally, i like live vocals better. You dont have to hit every single note.

Was Blind Before I Stop completely live vocal? it sounds that way, when you lsitne to live recordings of that era. btw BBIS needs more love as an album, its ~~~~ing great shit.

They didn't really start tuning Vocals until late 99, they all do it now !! every last album is tuned !! Even the People that can really sing and don't need it . The producers will say I like the way you sang that don't worry we will tune !! I hate that. I say if if it was that good then I will sing it in Tune !! I don't like tuning period !! Live vocals , yes .. They were all live until 1948 when a producer named Tom Dowd , edited 3 Sintra takes together on 16 track tape , because Sintra didn't like anyone of his complete takes so they put 3 together ! since then , things have been edited together some more than others, Every artist records 5 or 6 takes .. some as many as 30 and takes the best of all the parts .. I don't like to work that way, a word 2 are ok !!! But I like whole phrases put together , almost no edits on "All of Me" Now think what they do with film , do you have Idea the edits that are made from take to take .. That is all edited for the best from Brando, to Olivier.

Hi Meat. I'm pretty sure this because of my post on the Dutch forum.

I have no problem you using my name when referring to me. But it is only right I come forward so that people can see who you are talking about.

Indeed I started to talk about vocal manipulation as someone on the Dutch forum was posting about how you sound much better in the studio than live. Or at least live it can sometimes be hit and miss. Obviously last year was hit (I stand by words - see my review below).

I have no problem with vocal manipulation. I posted that as well. I only have to listen to Green Day and My Chemical Romance to hear a lot is going on to get those vocals perfect. And I am sure you can sing better than those guys, much better and your voice is far more interesting to me. Loved Black Parade and some Green Day and see why you wanted to work with Rob Covallo. The production of HCTB is better than Bat 3. But I prefer the songs on Bat 3.

Indeed I no longer post negative stuff on here as I can't speak my mind any longer before things get out of control. From growing up in Holland and in the UK I've found people in general seem to have a thicker skin in Holland. You only have to read the tabloids in the UK ("newspapers" if you can call them that) to see everyone gets offended by everything in the UK. In Holland people just don't care what people say about them.

Indeed I blow hot and cold at times. People who know me, like me or love me know that. I can see the good in things and get fascinated & excited about that or see the bad in things and want to see improvement or rather see a different approach. There is no in between. This can lead to arguments I guess and I LOT of a disagreement and for what it is worth I am sorry. And I am sorry if you think I come online to hurt you. I don't. A lot of my posts are really my thoughts.

If you are interested: Yes my life has gone through a pile of shit recently with my divorce and money worries but I have come through this to the point I can be myself again. Maybe that is why I am what bitter. Las Vegas doesn't interest me as much as seeing you perform in a packed O2 and Manchester arena. But I am glad many people enjoy the current shows. That's what it's all about in the end. What does my opinion matter?

If you are interested I also posted this review from your amazing show in Nottingham on the Dutch forum which I will translate for you.

Quote:
Erg dramatisch, heel goed gezongen. Ook erg lang. Zo'n 2 uur 50 minuten (inclusief pauze).

Super concert. En ook en super publiek. Alsof je bij een WK overwinning van Nederland was.
Quote:
Meat was very good yesterday.
Much better than in London & Birmingham. In London he really wasn't bad but you could tell he was nervous (pointing towards his head often because he couldn't hear himself in the monitors).
Nottingham was very dramatic, very well sung. Also a long show. About 2 hours and 50 minutes (including a break).

I actually hope he comes back to do some shows when Brave & Crazy is released, but we shall see.
If this is the last time I can see Meat then that is really a super ending and I will look back at everything with a smile. And boy did I smile during the show! Of course except during Objects (super version), Heaven and For Crying. Those really brought tears in my eyes.

Super show. And a super audience. As if I was at a Dutch football win at the World Cup. (Crowds always go crazy for that)
Last year was a mega concert year for me, seeing the 3 rockers I love most in concert. I saw you 4 times, Bruce Springsteen once and Billy Joel once. You only have to look at the quantities to see who I love more and whose music I absolutely love more too. I paid £143 for a ticket (as did my friend) to see you at the O2 as I had to buy from a tout as I couldn't get a good ticket when the sale went on. It was expensive but it was more than worth it and it's the biggest arena show I've ever been to. Doesn't that tell you something?

If you don't agree with my thoughts that's no problem for me really. I appreciate you calling me ignorant. Indeed I don't know what really goes on in the studio and maybe I should keep my mouth shut. I do appreciate you coming online to explain what goes on.

I am taking this time to write this because I care and love your live shows and most of your music. If you think we are not cool that is a real shame I would say and I'd probably not come to see you live again if there was ever the opportunity. I wish you the best with your live shows and with Brave & Crazy.

I am sorry I hurt your feelings.

I know, I have heard it .. show after show during Last at Bat, and more recently in Vegas. Power, pitch, passion, all still there in a performance you can be proud of, and remains stunning.

Meat,

My choice on what to believe was an easy one. I believe in your style of working the vocals and your genuine way you speak about how you accomplish it. You won't get an argument here. Wish only to be a fly on the wall when you get ready for a tracking vocal session…..not because I think you CAN'T do it, but because I KNOW you CAN!

Sorry Monstro,

but how did this answer Meat's post to me? It seems to be 2 very different issues?

This one was about Andrew's thoughts on HCTB, the other one seems to be about something completely different and as I'm mentioned (unrightfully in that matter, I'm sure of) I think Meat should be able to explain

Meat, you're lovin doing your vegas show

and last at bat was a masterpiece,

you're not really touring anymore, but you possibly will do a couple of uk europe shows in the future

IF you return for a show or 3, is it more likely to be in the form of your vegas show??

Yes , We are still in talks to bring The Vegas show to the west end in 2015 . I tell you what I really care about is that Jim and I have become brothers again and we Talk some days for hours by e-mail ., I don't talk out loud except on Saturday's and show days !! We are going to make a very great record !! These are happy days with me and Jim!! They will stay that way for the rest of our Lives. We were going that way in 2007 until people came between us again but I have taken all responsibility for that and I am the one to Blame no matter what the circumstance‎s. You can't Blame others you must stand up and say I had made choice or you can never move forward as a real human being . All these trouble makers , I really don't need or want to be part of them anymore . Life is just great without them , My band and crew are great and everyone is so relaxed and having a great time and having fun, as am I, doing these shows in Vegas !! They are Very ,very good shows. I have had to work hard changing the way I sing things in Vegas because it is so dry here . The new Girls are getting better everyday. Do I love Patti ,Yes very much but sometimes changes need to be made even if it hurts . Frances is Great!! I have the best Wife in the world. I still have a lot of friends here , but the trouble makers should just leave and never come back. Let the people here who want to enjoy this site and have some fun without all the drama do so !! All you Liars and 2 faced people go over to the Dutch Forum !! Write all the lies you want about me and wallow in your self pity and empty hollow Soulless unhappy lives . Make yourself feel good about yourself because it is the only way you know how. By putting other people down to feel good about yourselves !!
To everyone else ,
All my Love,

Nothin rocks more than a banjo solo lol
