This version of the song has a singer that sounds so similar to ellen foley, but its not the original. Meat's part is the same. Its from a video game. Can anyone shed a little light on this mystery singer? or is it Ellen? I dont know!

Very interesting indeed.

The first verse of the girl part is definitely Patti. It sounds like latter parts are a mix between Patti and perhaps an alternate female vocal track of Ellen Folley.

From memory I believe you can hear some Patti parts on the SACD but not as obvious as here.
Presumably the full original female vocal track is damaged and hence all this mixing and additional recording was necessary for subsequent SACD and 5.1 mixes I think but this take is quite different here. It's like there are two different women in the song.

Kind of apt in a way.

I like the YouTube comment that says the bald man has a wonderful voice.

The originals were lost in a fire, so Patti was drafted in to imitate Ellen. Copies of the originals were then found but it was too late to use them.
