Default PITP Press/magazine interviews

We've seen some press coverage of this, but Mercury's Head of Press has told me that around Party In The Park, they arranged and Meat did interviews with the Radio Times, Evening Standard, Uncut Magazine, The Face Magazine and Waitrose Magazine, so these are things to watch out for .

I don't recall seeing anything in the RT .. whether this means not all the interviews get printed or that it was too late for their press deadline and may still be printed ...

And I now have this great vision of Meat in Waitrose with a trolleyload of CDs exhorting all to buy

Thanks for the info! I'm away for two weeks from Saturday. Can you all please do me a big favour and if any of these articles show up get me a copy and I'll sort out cost postage when i'm back!

Hopefully I wont end up with 25 copies of each but even so you cant get enough Meat!

I'd be interested to see what the Waitrose one is I wouldn't mind getting him in my trolley

Hi Everyone, its nice to join and to be here.

While on this subject I was pretty bored last night with me not being a David Dickinson Fan and all , and flicking through the latest edition of 'Now' and there on page 68 is a two page 'reader's question' interview with Meat. Pretty cool, with some very funny answers.

Default oops, forgot this too

Hi, forgot to mention there is a bit about Meat in the 'Culture' supplement of Sunday 13th Times. Its a preview of the highlights show of PITP. It reads....

'If you missed last weeks live Hyde Park extravaganza, this two hour compilation from this year's PITP for the Princes Trust is the usual charity tombola of ill-mixed chart stars, from the petite country rocker Shania Twain to Britain's own material boys and girls, Big Brovaz, Atomic Kitten, Craig David and the infinitely punchable public-school 'rockers' Busted provide the vacuous filler while the real class comes not from any royal connections, but from the appearance of the rock-opera behemoth Meat Loaf. He will be gone when the morning comes, so enjoy him now.'

Nice review.

Great review. What's a "behemoth"?

Nice one, Invocation!! Thanks for sharing!

And welcome!! Good to have you here!

Love,

ps: Louise, I found these two definitions for "behemoth" in my dictionary:

1. Someone or something that is abnormally large and powerful

2. A person of exceptional importance and reputation

Both apply, I guess. For Meat, I prefer the second one, though!

Thanks for that, MB The second definition is definitely more flattering!
(great word, though!)

I've always rather liked the Miriam Webster definition:
a mighty animal described in Job 40:15-24 as an example of the power of God .. fits the Meat's on-stage persona to a T imo :)

I've got the craziest pictures in my head now of Meat sat in a shopping trolley with Sin pushing him out the door!

So far I've only had a reply from the Radio Times who say they "don't have any details when it will appear at the moment. It would have to belinked to a broadcast item on tv or radio." .. and as they missed the boat with the issues which listed PITP and the Russell Watson programme, it doesn't seem likely to feature in the near future

Thanks Caryl, wish RT had got their act together.
I brought Now magazine to get hold of the readers questions to Meat Loaf that Invocation was talking about (just want to point out that this is not a magazine i would usually buy). It has a full page photograph of Meat plus a page of readers email questions to him.

Good to hear that the interview went in but waiting until November????
I have a non existant memory, I'll never remember that. Why can't the interview come out sooner?
Don't suppose there's any word of that trolley dash in the reply they sent you?

November sounds like a good time to me .. publicity just when Meat's touring and the next single release is due. It might be nice for us now, but wouldn't be the best time to promote imo
