Rory Dodd's version. Meat's climaxes too soon and lacks dynamics, he kinda just powers through it. It has no buildup or anything, the moment the drums come you've pretty much heard everything worth hearing.
And Rory's has a mandolin solo. You can't beat a mandolin solo :P Meat's vocals + Rory's arrangement would be my dream version. |

I've never heard the US version of meat's, but judging based on the UK version, Rory's is far superior in production quality. All thats missing is Meat's voice. And it kicks into epicness in a way Meat's version didn't. Kinda like Jim's Left in the Dark.

The UK version adds drums and added percussion. And Meat's voice has a bit more reverb.

The US version of all of Bad Attitude was remixed with some elements of re-recording for some of the musical tracks. |

• a lot of the backing vocals / female harmonies • guitar tracks • synpad • Paul Buckmaster's string arrangement. (Removing a string arrangement by Paul Buckmaster is very rarely a good idea). • And the bass is mixed a lot higher in the mix (different bass?), and it features a longer outro. My favourite version is the one on Bad For Good. I do really like Meat's UK version. As Euphoria points out it completely lacks dynamics (like bat3), and the piano part has been way over-simplified, but it adds a really credible variation of approach to the song. Meat's US version, on the other hand, takes the elements of Meat's arrangement and subtracts a lot of the interesting parts, in essence leaving a flatter, less-interesting version of the original arrangement. But having both Meaty versions is still a fine thing. ![]() |
